JPMorgan Chase & Co now employs more workers in Texas than in New York state — something one top city business advocate called a “scary” development.
And it’s not just the investment giant, there are more jobs in the banking sector in the Lone Star State than in New York, once the unrivaled financial services capital of the country and world, said Kathryn Wylde, president and CEO of the Partnership for New York City.
“Right now, the big challenge is are we going to remain competitive for jobs?” Wylde said Sunday on WABC 770 AM the “Cats Roundtable” program. “The financial services industry, they’re our biggest taxpayers and major employers

Their employees don't want their families in dangerous NYC!
North Carolina and Texas seem to be a better choice.

Texas is opening a new stock exchange at the beginning of 2026. NY has both individual and corporate income taxes. Texas has none. A business in NY can save 15% of their income by moving to Texas, and the cost of living is half that of NY, so their payroll costs would halve.

NYC is beginning to topple. Albany has been very complacent about squeezing businesses with high taxes and tight regulation. They thought this gravy train was permanent. The source for the article thinks they can make it safer and cheaper to live there. With Mandami in charge? Is she insane? Unpunished crime and cop hatred will make crime triple. He wants to make NY ‘affordable’ on the backs of the same people who are fleeing. The businesses that are leaving won’t be coming back. NY is about to find out what socialism is. We aren’t Venezuela. New Yorkers with money have options.

Maybe I'm wrong, but what the New York political system did to Trump has to be the icing on the cake for more than a few people.

The left is probably shocked that people in financial services would move where financially everything is 100% better for them. I mean go figure?

At the flip of a switch, EVERY brokerage house can instantly relocate to another city...and this includes the Dow Jones.

The normal people of New York City that are able will leave for sunnier climes. Those wretched denizens who prefer leftist tyranny will stay and elect a communist muzzie freak show (repeatedly, I am certain). As a result, they will continue to wallow in their own crapulence. Far be it from we Normals to save them from themselves. Not our circus. Their condition is of no relevance to us (unless of course the brainless, spineless politicos decide to use OUR tax money to bail the losers out. Again.)
To the people of New York City who choose to relocate to MY fair Texas, welcome. But please! Do NOT bring that leftist insanity with you. If NYC were so much better, you would not be leaving, would you? We already have too much of that left-wing bullbutter in our major cities.
To the people of New York City who choose to live miserable lives as subjects of leftist tyranny: Good Luck! You're going to need it.

What company run by people with their right minds would chose to stay in a city that would consider electing a radical Muslim disguising himself as a socialist to run the town?

Where Texas really wins out is the amount of land. NY is hemmed in and overcrowded. TX has thousands of square miles suitable for housing and businesses.

More economic refugees from the third world hell hole that democrats and their low info voters have created. If they move to Texas we can only pray that they leave their insane, non factual beliefs about darn near everything behind them. Already seeing too many California license plates in my small town in the DFW area. Do not need more transplants bringing their idiocy here. Back in the 80's someone suggested building a wall on the Red River to stop the inflow of 'Yankees' to this great state.

This is how the Dems turn a state blue. Just ship in thousands of leftists from NY to Texas and they'll keep voting hard left in their new location.

Does this crowd vote Democrat or Republican? Are you sure you want them in Texas? The left would love to rename the state to 'Taxes'. Just flip two letters.

I don't want any more New Yorkers where I live - or anyone from New Jersey, Massachusetts, or California. They’ve already screwed up my state. They should stay where they are, and suffer the consequences of their idiocy.

It takes until the end of the article to find out it's about Commie Mamdani's threat to the already bleeding city.
"Democratic Socialist" they call him. I just shorten that to Demzi.
The last paragraph sounds like a desperate plea, and sums up how it is predicted to get much worse, but might get better afterwards, probably, they hope.

You know what's a “scary” development? All those who are complaining about Texas are on the verge of electing a Marxist Muslim to be NYC mayor.

Memo to Ms. Wylde: if you're planning to save NYC make sure the "leaders" you're mentioning are NOT dems. They aren't in the business of saving.....only destroying. That's their expertise. Just take a look at your city now; it's a product of what your "leaders" have accomplished.

Zohran Mamdani will dig deep into the pockets of the captive financial service companies of NYC which means those companies will dig deep into your pockets (your financial investments) to fund their higher costs. Money will flee New York.
