JPMorgan Chase & Co now employs more workers in Texas than in New York state — something one top city business advocate called a “scary” development. And it’s not just the investment giant, there are more jobs in the banking sector in the Lone Star State than in New York, once the unrivaled financial services capital of the country and world, said Kathryn Wylde, president and CEO of the Partnership for New York City. “Right now, the big challenge is are we going to remain competitive for jobs?” Wylde said Sunday on WABC 770 AM the “Cats Roundtable” program. “The financial services industry, they’re our biggest taxpayers and major employers

Texas is opening a new stock exchange at the beginning of 2026. NY has both individual and corporate income taxes. Texas has none. A business in NY can save 15% of their income by moving to Texas, and the cost of living is half that of NY, so their payroll costs would halve.

NYC is beginning to topple. Albany has been very complacent about squeezing businesses with high taxes and tight regulation. They thought this gravy train was permanent. The source for the article thinks they can make it safer and cheaper to live there. With Mandami in charge? Is she insane? Unpunished crime and cop hatred will make crime triple. He wants to make NY ‘affordable’ on the backs of the same people who are fleeing. The businesses that are leaving won’t be coming back. NY is about to find out what socialism is. We aren’t Venezuela. New Yorkers with money have options.

The normal people of New York City that are able will leave for sunnier climes. Those wretched denizens who prefer leftist tyranny will stay and elect a communist muzzie freak show (repeatedly, I am certain). As a result, they will continue to wallow in their own crapulence. Far be it from we Normals to save them from themselves. Not our circus. Their condition is of no relevance to us (unless of course the brainless, spineless politicos decide to use OUR tax money to bail the losers out. Again.) To the people of New York City who choose to relocate to MY fair Texas, welcome. But please! Do NOT bring that leftist insanity with you. If NYC were so much better, you would not be leaving, would you? We already have too much of that left-wing bullbutter in our major cities. To the people of New York City who choose to live miserable lives as subjects of leftist tyranny: Good Luck! You're going to need it.

However, the pilot hasn’t delivered the results that we hoped for,” BC health minister Josie Osborne said on January 14 when announcing the impending end of the program. Law enforcement officials in Texas have been apprehending illegal border crossers for years who dress in construction gear, including wearing reflective yellow vests and hard hats, The Center Square has observed. Often times, an entire carload of people will be wearing hard hats, law enforcement officials working through Texas’ Operation Lone Star have found. Democrats in the Washington state legislature are pushing a proposal that establishes a list of demographic groups that are presumed to be “socially disadvantaged” for the purposes of state business certification. Based on the breadth of those categories, roughly 70 percent of Washington state residents would fall under the bill’s definition of “socially disadvantaged.” Under existing statute, the Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) defines a “socially disadvantaged individual” as someone who has experienced racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias within American society due to group identity, stemming from circumstances beyond the individual’s control. The agency may also determine social disadvantage on a case-by-case basis.
