Virginia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger won’t say whether she’ll renounce an endorsement from a local school board member who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination. On Sunday, Chesterfield County School Board Chair Dot Heffron announced plans to resign after issuing a despicable social media post touting Kirk’s murder. On Instagram, the commonwealth official wrote, “Call me old fashioned, but I remember when we used to be okay with shooting Nazis.” Heffron released a statement when disclosing her intent to step down, in which she said, “The words I shared were wrong,” and “I should have shown better judgment.”

“Call me old fashioned, but I remember when we used to be okay with shooting Nazis.” So Dot Heffron is old enough to remember when the WW2 European Theater was still "hot"? Near tell, I'm about 25 years older than her, and I don't remember that. I do know that as soon as Germany surrendered in May 1945, it was no longer "okay" to shoot Nazis without other extenuating circumstances. (The Geneva Convention, don't you know?) An that was real, put 'em in death camps, gas 'em, mow 'em down with machine guns, starve 'em to death Nazis -- not just someone who doesn't agree with you. The REAL Nazis were hunted down, put on trial at international courts, most being sentenced to life imprisonment or executed or committed suicide. And none of that was because Churchill didn't like what the said. It was for real crimes that caused grievous bodily harm, incapacitating injuries, disfigurement, rape and death that produced blood and dead bodies, in various stages of completeness. You know, like what Hamas did a couple of years ago. BTW, if you want see a REAL anti-fascist, anti-Nazi looks like, look up Elie Wiesel, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, 1986. (Amazingly, he actually did things that promoted world peace.) I think Spanberger is just trying to figure out which way the wind is blowing.

#2, I don't think they teach much about all that in school any more. As far as Spanberger, by NOT renouncing such hate speech, she's accepting it as normal conversation in today's Democrat party. And likely doesn't want to upset the education establishment that's pushing her candidacy which should tell you all you need to know about why school choice is more imperative than ever. The mantra should be "My child, my choice".

Spanberger is a liberal democrat who poses as a moderate. The corrupt press has promoted that narrative. During Spanberger’s tenure in Congress, she grandstanded occasionally in debates about issues that did not involve a vote to reinforce her moderate reputation. But she toed the democrat line on every important bill. In 2020, Spanberger trailed on election night by about 1,500 votes. Then the day after the election, a thumb drive was “found” that contained 15,000 votes, 70 percent for Spanberger. That put her in the lead and she never looked back. So, add thumb drives to car trunks and closets where democrats find ballots to swing elections.

“The words I shared were wrong,” and “I should have shown better judgment.” The fact is she does not believe the words she said are wrong, If she believed that she wouldn't have said them. She knows she should have used better Judgement and kept her freaking mouth shut so she would be in the mess she is in now. As for Spanberger accepting her endorsement.. Spanberger will weigh the verdict of the voter and if she feels enough people felt like Heffron she will accept it graciously.

If she keeps the endorsement, she is supporting murder. If she rejects the endorsement, she angers her base. Her only option is to say nothing and hope for the best. American politics - no courage of convictions, just polling data.

But the regime media is changing regimes before our eyes; it is just that no one sees it because they are distracted by the current fight. Larger trends and a newfound testicular fortitude among conservatives are forcing significant and permanent changes to the structure of the left’s most vital ally, with a powerful downstream effect.

Hundreds of pro-Palestine students chanted “from the river to the sea” – an antisemitic slogan calling for the destruction of Israel – during protests on the second anniversary of Hamas’s October 7th attacks. The Mail has more. Scores of people demonstrated outside Sheffield University’s students’ union where they chanted: “From river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” The song, which has been adopted by Hamas and is used in the terror group’s official charter, is deemed antisemitic and a direct call for the state of Israel to be destroyed. The Palestinian flag-waving students also accused Israel of a “holocaust” and shouted: “Your uni is covered in Palestinian blood.”

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iran executed six death-row inmates Saturday it alleged carried out attacks in the country’s oil-rich southwest on behalf of Israel, the latest prisoners to be put to death in a wave of executions believed to be the highest in decades. The executions follow the 12-day Iran-Israel war in June, which ended with Tehran vowing it would target its enemies at home and abroad. However, activists warn Iran often relies on coerced confessions and closed-door trials in its death penalty cases, particularly those involving Israel.

A while back, I argued that we need to make Republicans afraid again. Afraid for their jobs. In light of recent events, that's probably not the best wording possible, but the sentiment still holds. There aren't really many pro-gun Democrats holding office these days, so we have to count on Republicans exclusively to hold the line. That's less than ideal because, like any other political party, almost no one is in complete lockstep with their party on every single issue. For some of them, they're open to at least some gun control.
