Months after a bitter public feud, US President Donald Trump has softened his tone toward former ally Elon Musk. Speaking on the Scott Jennings Show in an interview recorded Tuesday, Trump indicated that Musk’s political future would inevitably lead him back to the Republican Party. "I don’t think he has a choice," Trump said, framing Musk’s options as a choice between the GOP on one side and "radical left lunatics" on the other. Despite their past differences, Trump largely complimented the billionaire and downplayed the dispute. "He’s a good man. He got off the reservation, incorrectly, and that’s okay, because, you know, it’s just one of those things," Trump added.

Both men have accomplished so much to be proud of, and both seem to recognize the difference between self-confidence and pride, and to have a heart for doing the right thing. I loved seeing the friendship between Elon and President Trump, and how well they worked together. I hope to see that again, for their good and for the good that they can do together for the world.

Federal Judge Rules in Favor of Harvard...and
the Trump Admin on Funding Case

There's a Wednesday afternoon ruling out of the Massachusetts District Court in the Harvard funding case brought against the Trump administration by the university and several organizations challenging the administration's decision to freeze and ultimately terminate nearly $2.2 billion in federal grants to Harvard. The New York Times is describing it largely as a win for Harvard — and it is, in some respects, but not in all of them: Harvard University won a crucial legal victory in its clash with the Trump administration on Wednesday, when a federal judge said that the government had broken the law by freezing billions of dollars in research funds.

Paramount is on the verge of acquiring Bari Weiss’ right-leaning Free Press news organization, with Weiss set for a top role in running CBS News, TheWrap has learned. The deal, which is being finalized by Paramount’s lawyers and was first reported by Puck on Wednesday, sets CBS News on a course for a more conservative approach in line with CEO David Ellison’s vision. TheWrap’s reporting suggests it’s likely that Weiss will run CBS News. Weiss, who founded Free Press in 2022 after leaving the New York Times where she was an opinion columnist,

Folks, if there’s one thing Donald Trump has mastered, it’s the art of memetic provocation. He’s basically the Troll Master General at this point. This week, he revealed in an interview he’d be adding a portrait of Joe Biden’s autopen — yes, the autopen, not Biden himself — to his “Presidential Wall of Fame” in the newly renovated White House Rose Garden. That was fantastic, but the encore may have been better. Let’s put it this way: Former Obama and Biden staffers might want to check their LinkedIn profiles. The White House set off a social media frenzy after it swapped out its official LinkedIn

WASHINGTON—Today, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released 33,295 pages of Epstein-related records that were provided by the U.S. Department of Justice. On August 5, Chairman Comer issued a subpoena for records related to Mr. Jeffrey Epstein, and the Department of Justice has indicated it will continue producing those records while ensuring the redaction of victim identities and any child sexual abuse material. A federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday that U.S. President Donald Trump unlawfully invoked the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelans he alleged were part of a criminal gang. In a 2-1 decision, a three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued a preliminary injunction that blocked the Trump administration from removing a group of Venezuelans under the seldom-used 18th-century law. The Fifth Circuit is the first federal appeals court to rule directly on a March 14 presidential proclamation invoking the 1798 law to justify rapid deportations. Circuit Judge Leslie Southwick, writing for the two-judge majority, rejected the Trump administration's assertion that the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua

During a presser outside Eagan, Minnesota’s Deerwood Elementary Tuesday, Gov. FOX 9 quoted Walz saying, “The thing that makes America unique in terms of shootings is we just have more guns and the wrong types of guns are on the streets.” He went on to admit that he is going to need some Republicans to cross the aisle and vote with Democrats in order to secure his gun control package. Walz added, “If Minnesota lets this moment slide and we determine it’s OK

Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) issued an executive order Tuesday directing the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to work and cooperate with federal law enforcement officials indefinitely. A press release from Bowser’s office stated that the mayor’s order “continues the work of the Safe and Beautiful Emergency Operations Center (SBEOC) in managing the District’s response to the Safe and Beautiful Task Force,” which was established by President Donald Trump. The order from Bowser comes as Trump in early August announced that he was “officially invoking section 740 of the district of Columbia Home Rule Act” and that the MPD would be placed under “direct federal control.” Trump also activated the National Guard.

For all the bellyaching, posturing, proselytizing, and threats of violence both implied and precise, the immigration enforcement operations that Trump's Department of Homeland Security has been running across the country don't seem to be having an impact on at least one surprising segment of the voting population - young, Latino voters, especially males. Even before Trump was officially sworn in and Tom Homan's leash came off, there were signs that an inexplicable rightward shift was happening. For example, as much as it had to hurt them, NBC's national exit polls on Election Day had big red warning flags among the typically loyal Democratic demographic for nervous Harris supporters.

Although Google will not be forced to sell of its Chrome browser or Android, it will have to make certain search data available to qualified competitors to promote competition. A federal appellate court on Tuesday sided with the Environmental Protection Agency in the pitched legal battle over Administrator Lee Zeldin’s termination of $20 billion in Biden-era climate grants, a major victory for the Trump administration’s bid to cancel hundreds of environmental grants and boost fossil fuel production. The jilted grant recipients are expected to appeal the decision, but even if it’s ultimately upheld, additional litigation will follow — and EPA could find itself on the hook for the outstanding balance, a possibility attorneys at EPA and the Justice Department warned of in internal emails reported by POLITICO in April.

Trump’s Alligator Alcatraz will not have to shut down after a circuit court overturned a woke judge’s order. In August, Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams ruled that the alleged “environmental harms” of the famous Florida illegal alien detention facility outweighed the facility’s necessity. But that decision was overruled Thursday as the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals blocked her order to close the illegal alien detention facility in Florida and halt all construction there. The federal appeals court also blocked Williams from proceeding with the case until Florida’s appeal is complete. This is a big win not only for the Trump administration and the state government in Florida,

It does not matter if individuals become naturalized citizens of the United States, so long as they retain the citizenship from wherever they came, they should not be allowed to serve in the American government. Either they renounce their foreign citizenship, or stop serving in our government. And, it is more preferable that they self-deport if they feel strongly about keeping the other citizenship. As founder John Jay expressed in 1787, “Permit me to hint, whether it would not be wise and seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government.”

President Trump’s efforts to bring down crime have been successful in Washington, D.C. The rate of murder and other violent crimes is down substantially, and the rate of car-jackings is down dramatically. Even the Democrat mayor of the city admitted that the crime rate has dropped. Oddly, however, she mumbles in the next breath that the program is “not working,” apparently to mollify national stage Democrats to whom she answers. Such as Democrat Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer. He was asked at the outset whether the initial 30-day period for the effort could be extended.

Cracker Barrel suffered a hit to sales after it unveiled its “woke” new logo – which faced heated backlash from customers online and even President Trump. Starting Aug. 19, the day after the logo was revealed, transactions slowed at Cracker Barrel restaurants, according to debit and credit card data from Bloomberg Second Measure, a data analytics provider. That sales decline gained steam through Aug. 26 as diners slammed the new logo – a modern, sleek reimagining that erased an illustration of beloved folksy farmer Uncle Herschel. Other full-service restaurants showed mixed results during the same period, in a sign that Cracker Barrel’s sudden downturn was due to brand damage, according to Bloomberg.

“Doctors are being paid to vaccinate, not to evaluate,” Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in a recent video. “They’re pressured to follow the money, not the science.” Doctors administer dozens of vaccines to many children in the United States. Adults are also advised to receive multiple shots. Here’s what to know about vaccines and payments. What Does the Literature Say? A review of studies confirms that some doctors profit from vaccinating. In a 2020 paper, researchers found when analyzing three years’ worth of vaccination claims for five Colorado clinics that reimbursements averaged 125 percent of costs, making administering vaccines “financially favorable across the practices.”

Newly released surveillance video from outside Jeffrey Epstein’s New York prison cell the night of his suicide now shows the so-called “missing minute” that fuelled conspiracy theories about the pedophile’s death — contradicting the explanation from President Trump’s Department of Justice. The surveillance clip was among the more than 33,000 pages of documents and videos tied to Epstein’s sex-trafficking probe that were released by the House Oversight Committee late Tuesday. In the Justice Department’s initial dump of Epstein files, an 11-hour recording from outside Epstein’s cell block at the Metropolitan Correctional Center the night he killed himself in 2019 had a minute missing just before midnight.

If you’re a Democrat, however, you don’t like this for several reasons: 1) It makes President Trump look good, which you can’t stomach even if lives are at stake, and 2) you don’t actually care about crime and don’t mind seeing it continue in our nation’s cities.
