Americans have been told for decades we’re in desperate need of an underclass to handle the work we don’t want to do ourselves.
We were convinced the development of an American caste system, with the “illegal untouchables” assigned the least-attractive duties, is what a prosperous nation like ours deserves.
This narrative’s purveyors swore to us the depth of illegal immigration would remain shallow enough that these people wouldn’t be a competitive workforce for jobs American citizens want to earn a living from.
This deception has created what I call “The Great Illegal-Immigrant Lie.”

Talk show host Charlie Kirk commented on Brandon Johnson's opposition to President Trump sending federal forces to stop crime on the streets of Chicago.
"I think President Trump should call his bluff. I think we should flood the zone. It's already working in Washington, D.C. Chicago is a next perfect test case," Kirk said. "It's time for a federal takeover of Chicago. We've been calling for this for quite some time. I think we're getting closer. I think you're gonna see the president pull the trigger sometime soon."
CHARLIE KIRK: Brandon Johnson might be the most unimpressive mayor in America... He shouldn't be the mayor of Chicago. Chicago deserves so much better

You’ve likely seen all the buzz online about the planned attack gearing up against RFK Jr. People are circling the wagons and calling this a “coup.” But that’s not what it is. This isn’t just some political “coup” against RFK Jr.; this is a capture. What Big Pharma, Big Food, and their political operatives are pulling off right now isn’t about bruised egos or little partisan dustups. It’s about full-blown, unadulterated control. They’re not just trying to shove Kennedy out of the way and install a puppet. They’re moving to seize the levers of power that he has dared to touch.

In a decisive move to address the growing crisis in the U.S. immigration court system, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has approved deploying up to 600 military attorneys to the Department of Justice to serve as temporary immigration judges, according to a newly released memo. The attorneys — a mix of military personnel and civilian lawyers — will be sent in waves of 150, with the first group expected to be identified by next week. The initiative comes at the request of the Justice Department and is aimed at relieving a staggering immigration court backlog that has now ballooned to approximately 3.5 million cases.

A court will not force Google to sell off its Chrome browser or Android, a federal judge said in a court filing on Tuesday. The decision serves as a significant win for the tech company, which has avoided the most extreme possible outcome from a landmark antitrust case that determined the company was operating an illegal online search monopoly.
Although Google will not be forced to sell of its Chrome browser or Android, it will have to make certain search data available to qualified competitors to promote competition. It will also be barred from entering into or maintaining exclusive contracts related to the distribution of services like Chrome, Search,

A woman arrested last month for allegedly making death threats against President Donald Trump has been released by a federal judge who has clashed with the Trump administration several times this year, including by attempting to block the deportations of Venezuelan migrants under the Alien Enemies Act. Chief Judge James Boasberg ordered Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, released no later than Aug. 27 under electronic monitoring and instructed her to visit a psychiatrist in New York City once she retrieves her belongings from a local police station.

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Space Command’s headquarters would move from Colorado to Alabama — capping off a yearslong fight over where the command should be based. And you'll be seeing that, and you'll be reading about that. It just happened moments ago." Secretary of State Marco Rubio later posted to X sharing additional details, noting the hit was a "lethal strike."

A federal appellate court on Tuesday sided with the Environmental Protection Agency in the pitched legal battle over Administrator Lee Zeldin’s termination of $20 billion in Biden-era climate grants, a major victory for the Trump administration’s bid to cancel hundreds of environmental grants and boost fossil fuel production. The jilted grant recipients are expected to appeal the decision, but even if it’s ultimately upheld, additional litigation will follow — and EPA could find itself on the hook for the outstanding balance, a possibility attorneys at EPA and the Justice Department warned of in internal emails reported by POLITICO in April.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he will move the military’s US Space Command to Huntsville, Alabama — undoing a decision by the Biden administration to keep operations in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The US Space Command, or SPACECOM, is a joint command separate from the US Space Force military branch, which is tasked with leading national security operations in space. That includes overseeing satellites and networks that provide missile warnings, communications and in-space surveillance, while also tracking orbital debris and potential threats to US and allied spacecraft.

Writing elsewhere last month, I suggested that Donald Trump end the National Endowment for Democracy once and for all. Like most so-called “non-governmental organizations,” the NED is in fact an all-governmental organization. It depends absolutely on a subsidy from the state department, i.e., from the federal government, i.e., from the taxpayer, i.e., from you. The NED began life in the Cold War as a way of projecting “soft power” against our Communist adversaries. But as James Piereson noted in February of this year, the NED has undergone a familiar process of mission creep and moral and political entropy.

Okay, just a few quick post-holiday Monday musings, then everyone can throw themselves back into a normal schedule. I hope everyone who had the day off enjoyed it.
My daughter was born right around the time that the first Harry Potter books were published, so that whole phenomenon was a big part of her youth. Honestly, all of that was more pleasant to deal with as a parent than most of what Disney was putting out at the time. I even read the first few books in the series just to see what all of the hoopla was about.

The Cuellar case is a demonstration of how entrenched political dynasties in South Texas use power, money, and institutions to insulate themselves from accountability.
Congressman Henry Cuellar, indicted in 2024 for taking more than $600,000 in bribes from a Mexican bank and Azerbaijan’s state-owned oil company, is at the center of it.
But the pattern stretches across his family, his campaign, and the very elections that kept him in office. Federal prosecutors have made clear that Cuellar and his wife profited directly from years of backroom arrangements that advanced foreign interests.
Imelda Cuellar pocketed over $100,000 in consulting fees tied to the same entities listed in the indictment.

On July 14th, President Donald Trump set a deadline for Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine – 50 days. The war’s death toll and the Russian leader’s bad faith negotiating tactics had exceeded the president’s patience threshold and it was time for the Trump Administration to weigh in more heavily than it had thus far. President Trump threatened sanctions and secondary sanctions if Putin didn’t stop the conflict, offering increased military support to Ukraine as well. Putin was on the clock!
Two weeks later, an important change took place when Trump accelerated the timeline. It was that pressure-packed strategy that quickly brought Putin to the negotiating table.

It’s been said that if you’re not a Communist at 20, you have no heart — but if you’re not a capitalist by 30, you have no brain. That’s all too befitting the sad farce of New York’s mayoral race, led by front-runner Zohran Mamdani.
How does Mamdani, as the only major candidate who comes close to the 20-30 age range, measure up?
Mamdani’s smiling, youthful energy attracted many real 20- to 30-year-old New Yorkers, as well as many older 20-somethings-at-heart. His wealth of socialist/Communist ideas — abolishing private property, seizing the means of production, defunding the police, freezing rent, providing free public transportation, establishing government-run stores and more — make many

In 1981, following the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan's life, one of the first people who visited the president in his hospital room was Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill.
According to several sources, including O'Neil's then-chief of staff, future MSNBC host Chris Matthews, in his book Tip and the Gipper: When Politics Worked, O'Neill entered Reagan's hospital room and walked over to his bed. Reagan was still groggy, but O'Neill reached out and held both of Reagan's hands in his and said, God bless you, Mr. President." O'Neill then leaned down and kissed the president on the forehead.

A federal judge has declared President Donald Trump’s use of military troops in Los Angeles illegal, barring the Pentagon from using National Guard members and Marines from performing police functions, like arrests and crowd control.
In a 52-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer warned that Trump appears intent on “creating a national police force with the President as its chief.” Trump billed his deployment of troops to Los Angeles, starting in early June, as a way of bolstering immigration enforcement efforts amid protests in the city against the president’s deportation agenda. Though Trump has now withdrawn all but 300 of those troops, he is mulling

A handful of states have placed themselves front and center in a national redistricting battle after Texas took an unusual step to do mid-decade redistricting and advance a friendlier map for Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterms.
The Lone Star State’s map, which Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) signed into law on Friday, has prompted red and blue states alike to consider redrawing their own maps. California is the only state so far to tee up a potential new House map ahead of next year in response, where voters will weigh in November whether to pass new congressional lines.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin as an “old friend” as the two began a series of meetings Tuesday at a time when their countries face both overlapping and differing challenges from the United States. Putin addressed Xi as “dear friend” and said that Moscow’s ties with Beijing are “at an unprecedentedly high level.” Following their formal talks, they planned to have another meeting over tea with some of their top aides.

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), the former House Judiciary Committee chairman who helped lead the impeachments of then-former President Donald Trump, announced on Monday that he will not seek reelection in 2026, ending a 34-year tenure that placed him at the center of Democratic politics in New York and on the national stage.
Rep. Jerry Nadler, 78, confirmed that he will retire at the close of his current term, saying his decision was shaped by growing calls for generational change within the Democratic Party. “Watching the Biden thing really said something about the necessity for generational change in the party, and I think I want to respect that,”
