Donald Trump’s far-ranging counter-revolution, to quote the old Star Trek mission statement, seeks “To boldly go where no one has gone before.” Because no conservative president has dared to question the last 70 years of progressive cultural, social, economic, and political dominance, all traditional wisdom, all our renowned “experts,” and all the self-described “authorities” have no real credibility in their mostly flawed analyses and wrong prognoses.

I thought it was, "To boldly go where no man has gone before." But I’m not a Trekker or Trekkie, as it were, although I’ll enjoy an occasional episode now and then. Anyways to say that past GOPers like Romney, McCain, and most of all former president Bush, to name just three, lacked the intestinal fortitude of our current President, is gross understatement.

"Our bicoastal experts and authorities" will "simply move on to their next flawed prognosis, fortified by their titles and letters after their names—but otherwise little else" Yet every iteration proves those experts wrong and more incompetent, not in a small way but in significant and large ways. You cannot walk away from such failures as claiming the border cannot be closed without major legislative changes and then seeing Trump do it with an executive order and accomplish in a couple months. You cannot claim tariffs will be refused by other countries with economic collapse, only to see Trump negotiate deals (benefitting the US) with more countries every day. People saw the incompetence of the government under Biden. It was obvious. Now the People are starting to realize the liberal institutional experts are all doing stupid stuff and that is why nothing got done. Stuff That Works beats Stupid Stuff hands down every time. The American People don't want to become experts on how to run the government but they can tell the difference between a burnt out bulb and a working one and they know it is time for changing bad bulbs. They also know who has been selling the bad bulbs; dems, media, liberal bureaucracy, the Left, ... , modern snake oil salesmen.

Poster #1, you're right. The original Star Trek did say where 'no man' but the new Star Trek, Next Generation, changed it to 'no one.' Great article and spot on.

So the bottom line is that the writer is NOT quoting the Star Trek Mission Statement "Space The Final Frontier". For nearly all of the franchise it was "where no man has gone before". I never heard Lt. Uhura complain . Bit like all things in Y he n a m e of progress it had to be dumbed down, it's impact reduced; blunted by acquiescense to "progressive" thought. And like sheep people accept these ostensibly subtle changes and then they wake I p one day and find everything has become 'woke'. And they wonder what happened - right under their noses. The Left will do that to you. If you let them.

Being six years older than VDH, I've lived through all the past Republican administrations he criticizes. My memory conflicts with his assertion that no previous conservative Republican president dared to question the progressive dominance is incorrect. Reagan was very vocal against it, starting with his 1964 speech for Goldwater, and made tax cuts, restoring energy independence, and winning the Cold War the cornerstones of his 8 years as President. Congressional Republicans refused to back him when he wanted to go to the American people to pressure Congress to abolish the Departments of Education and Energy. Whether Nixon was a conservative or not, he challenged the status quo in foreign policy. Trump is unique. Comparing past presidents with him is difficult. This is a totally different political and social environment. Trump is leading a counter revolution. He's building a new Republican Party. Go ahead on, President Trump.

The Dutch Defense Ministry announced that it would make the first purchase of US weapons for Ukraine under a new NATO mechanism. The scheme is for NATO allies to fund US defense systems and munitions that would then be shipped to Ukraine. Other NATO allies had pledged to join the initiative, but the Netherlands is the first to announce transferring funds. The announcement comes as Russia continues to attack Ukraine. At least three people were reportedly killed in strikes in Ukraine's east on Tuesday.

Despite the best efforts of Russiagate-complicit media to dismiss as “Russian disinformation” the latest revelations in this escalating scandal implicating President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in the treasonous “years-long coup” against President Trump, the public is paying attention and wants heads to roll. According to a Rasmussen poll released Monday, nearly two-thirds of voters (65%) are following declassified releases over the past month by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) “very closely” (32%) or “somewhat closely” (33%), repudiating the calculated media silence about the Obama administration’s fake narratives and manipulation of intelligence to frame Trump as a Kremlin stooge to cover up Clinton’s wrongdoing.

When former Vice President Kamala Harris announced that she would not be running for California governor, she appeared to leave the door open to another shot at the White House in 2028. However, the real Democratic contender to watch is not Harris. Rather – implausible as it may seem to some – New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appears to be the front-runner for Democrats’ 2028 presidential nomination, should she forgo a Senate campaign, which she would almost certainly win.

A gerrymandered map proposed by the Texas GOP would kick firebrand Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett out of her own district and likely add more House seats to the Lone Star's Republican delegation. Last week, Texas House Republicans introduced a redistricting proposal that could net five new GOP seats. The draft congressional map, which is likely to change before approval by both state legislative chambers, aims to redraw district lines to include more Republican-leaning areas in Democratic strongholds like Dallas and Houston. Crockett, who serves Texas’ 30th Congressional District, which represents a large part of Dallas, has called the redistricting effort "a power grab to silence voters."

Meanwhile, the New York Times has reported that Indian government sources have revealed there are no plans to stop buying oil from Russia. This is despite US President Donald Trump's threats to impose penalties on India.

Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn will soon introduce a trio of bills to counter the malign influence of foreign adversaries stateside and cement actions already taken by the Trump administration, RealClearPolitics is first to report. The first bill would ban the purchase of “agricultural land” by any foreign individuals or businesses associated with an adversarial country. Chinese interests already own as much as 370,000 acres of farmland, according to one estimate, some of it near U.S. military bases. Fueling the bipartisan concern: fears that proximity to those sensitive installations could make them prone to drone attack or surveillance.

Why is the Fed chairman, Jerome Powell, stubbornly clinging to his high interest rate policy? Indeed — why is Mr. Powell clinging to his job? A Federal Reserve governor, Adriana Kuegler, just announced her resignation today, effective August 8. I believe President Trump can actually name his own governor to replace her — and then appoint that person as chairman of the Fed. Subject to Senate confirmation. There are rumors that another Fed governor — Michael Barr — is about to resign, giving Mr. Trump another option.

Predictably, the New York Times pooh-poohed the release of the classified annex to the Durham report. Charlie Savage wrote: Kash Patel, the F.B.I. director, and other Trump allies have declared that a newly declassified report on the Russia investigation provides “evidence that the Clinton campaign plotted to frame President Trump and fabricate the Russia collusion hoax.” The reality is almost precisely the opposite… The report shows that a purported email that Trump supporters have long tried to portray as a smoking gun is instead most likely a fake. Russian spies appear to have tried to make it seem authentic by assembling passages lifted from actual emails by different hacking victims…

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to order a full military occupation of the Gaza Strip to force Hamas to free the hostages, according to local reports. The move was reportedly made without the input of the Israeli military’s chief of staff Eyal Zamir — with Netanyahu instructing him to fall in line or resign, according to the internal memo sent out.

This comes after a DOGE staffer was severely beaten when he came to the aid of a woman being attacked by a rampaging mob of teen boys. Trump took to Truth Social to put Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser and the city council on notice that something needs to be done immediately—and if they won't do it, he will.
