Trump admin sues California over soaring
egg prices

Original Article

The Trump administration has sued California over its animal cruelty laws, saying the state's regulation of chicken farms has led to high egg prices across the country. Lowering the cost of eggs, which spiked in recent years as an avian flu outbreak ravaged American flocks, was one of President Donald Trump's key campaign promises in the lead-up to the 2024 election. But almost six months into his second mandate, his administration has struggled to keep the cost of the staple down. The administration now says California's regulations create "unnecessary red tape" in the production of eggs and are responsible for stubbornly high prices.

Comments:

The un-caged birds are proven to be more than two times more vulnerable to Avian flu. Cage free flocks account for about 1/3 of total egg laying production and an inverted 60% of total diseased flocks. The 2/3 of the poultry industry following federal health regulations accounted for under 40% of total infected and destroyed hens. By what metric does California figure it has authority to weaken federal health regulations?

There was NOT more avian flu. There was more avian flu testing and intentional culling as part of the plan to destroy the economy and usher in GLOBAL Marxism.

This is just one of California's methods of biting at the ankles of Donald Trump. If every government official in the state is of the quality and ability of Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom, I really feel sorry for the people.

How about an egg embargo for California? Just DON'T follow their insane rules and don't ship to the state. NO eggs to California that aren't grown there.

kalifornika's regulations raise the price on everything manufactured, grown, imported and translorted there. We all pay higher prices because of their ridiculous laws. By proxy, we are effectively paying kalifornika fees and taxes which they waste on bullet trains to nowhete.

This nexus of this lawsuit is about health regulations governing eggs. The California rules of requiring hens be in a field where Avian Flu virus carrying migratory birds, and disease carrying ticks and mosquitos that feed on them increases the spread of disease which results in mandatory bird culling and, ultimately, egg shortages and subsequent higher egg prices. Federal rules do not allow the California mandates.

RE: The 'culling of flocks that had avian flu.' Let's say you get the flu. If the government acted the same way about humans as they have about the chickens, they would cull (I pronounce it 'kill') you and your neighbors... everyone one your street and your block, to stop the flu. I've had the flu and survived. Some people get it and don't. No 'culling' is necessary. The ones who had it and survived now have immunities. Unless you kill them, you would now have healthier flocks. And more eggs. And, and this is a LAW--Supply and Demand, you would have lower egg prices.

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright touted the importance of coal and Wyoming on Friday at the ribbon cutting for Brook Mine, the first U.S. rare earth mine in 70 years and the state’s first new coal mine in decades. He said developments like the Brook Mine are critical for breaking U.S. dependence on China for supplying the critical minerals used in everything from fighter jets to wind turbines. Wright said it’s time for America to dominate rare earth development. “Anything in your life that has a button, you start your car with the button or your dishwasher or your refrigerator, your F-35 fighter jet —... have rare earth elements...”

NATO countries have devised a novel way to provide critical American weaponry to Ukraine for its fight against Russia, and President Trump suggested for the first time that he’s likely to go along with it. Rather than the United States continuing to give its weapons to Ukraine, officials in NATO countries conceived a plan where the Trump administration could sell them to allies, which would then give them to Ukraine. Not only could that be a financial windfall for the United States, it would also shield Mr. Trump — who has expressed skepticism of devoting U.S. military support to Ukraine — from accusations of direct involvement in the war.

Vietnam thought it had a preliminary deal with the U.S. to lower its tariff level substantially. Then, at the last minute, President Donald Trump raised the rate. As a result, the Vietnamese government still has not formally accepted a key part of the agreement the president touted on social media last week, despite Trump’s claim in the post that the terms had been agreed to by Vietnam’s leader, Tô Lâm. And neither side has released documentation of those terms, raising questions about whether they did, in fact, reach an agreement, as the White House labors to prove it is making headway in its trade negotiations with dozens of major partners.
