Rescuers scoured a devastated central Texas landscape of mangled trees, overturned cars and muck-filled debris Saturday in an increasingly bleak mission to locate survivors, including 27 girls who have not been seen since their camp was slammed with a wall of water in a historic flash flood.
The flooding in Kerr County killed at least 43 people, including 15 children, and at least eight people died in nearby counties.
Authorities still have not said how many people were missing beyond the children from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp along a river in Kerr County where most of the dead were recovered.

From ANOTHER article:
"Ron Filipkowski
@RonFilipkowski
The people in Texas voted for government services controlled by Donald Trump and Greg Abbott. That is exactly what they getting."
I need to ask this question. So am I to gather from this remark that if government is cut or reduced, the American people cannot function at all without leadership from government services? What has happened to the vitality of the American spirit? Look around and it is sad. Democrats and liberals really, really want you dependent on government. God says otherwise. That is why they are trying with all their might to take God out of society.

It appears from the article ample warning and information was provided by the NWS. Some chose to heed the warnings......some chose not to.
* my personal experience on the Guadalupe River this weekend: We had the whole family ( kids, grandkids ) at a house on the river for the 4th. We were between Canyon Lake and New Braunfels, below the area in the news.
It rained most of Friday morning, but let up enough to go tubing in the afternoon. The river was well within it's banks, at normal levels with very little flow. Started raining again early Saturday morning......very heavy at times. We had the TV tuned to local Houston news, and were aware of the situation above Canyon Lake. Locals advised Canyon Lake was well below normal ( 60 something feet ).......and could easily hold the water from the Guadalupe River above the lake.
At noon yesterday the Comal County Sheriff came down the road along the river and advised us to evacuate. The river was still well within it's banks.......the house we were in was 40+ feet above the river.
The concern was being able to drive across the various low level crossings between us and I35/I10......

An added comment. Just so my above comment cannot be misconstrued, I have this comment. Mark 12:17 addresses the subject of government and that is how we should respect it. We are to turn to God in everything we do.
Comments from people like Ron Filipkowski remind me of the narrow ways they want people to live in. Sadly, people are still buying into it. . .

The comments from the odious RAT/Left on social media posts remind me of just why I despise them & all they stand for. Absolutely no sympathy for families who have lost loved ones, esp innocent little children. The oh!-so-tolerant Leftoids are mean, Godless and vile. A pox on all of them.

This is truly a tragedy beyond words. I can't fathom the utter devastation of the parents and loved ones of the victims. One thing I've learned from my quarter century here in Texas, and that is when it rains 3 consecutive days, you WILL have flooding. It's simply the nature of the soils here, although you can't always predict where the flooding will occur.
Lastly, and on purpose, imagine the surprise at the Judgement Seat of Christ when the "Ron Filipkowski" types of the world try blaming everything they did against God on their Republican elected representatives. What's the response they receive from our Lord? "Next!"

I've read that the Mystic church camp didn't allow cell phones, and that's why they didn't get the warning. Apparently they didn't have a weather radio either. Very sad.
As for what God will say on judgment day, it won't be anything about whether people have blamed others or committed this sin or that sin. Instead, God will judge people based on whether they said yes or no to his Son.

I guess I should be stunned at the Dems shameless attempt to politicize a horrible tragedy but I am not. The statement by this worthless POS about trying to blame these deaths on DJT is beyond the pale. I don't understand why Democrats can be so vile and uncaring but, then again, they are Democrats. Might as well blame President William McKinley for the hurricane in Galveston, TX in 1900 that killed 6,000-12,000 people or Teddy Roosevelt for the SF earthquake of 1906. 3,000 and probably more died then and a whole city destroyed.
Keep it up, Democrats. Your party is already floundering and remarks like this will simply convince more people of what a cruel and worthless bunch of evil people your anti-American party actually is.

You gotta be kidding me...someone actually thinks this is President Trump's fault...along with governor abbott?...what is wrong with these people....this accident was a twist of nature...it's been happening off and on for my 70 plus years.....the hatred for President Trump is so over the top that it defies comprehension ...WE the people must look past it and move on the grieving for the souls lost and praying for their families....

Thanks #7. If that is correct, 'cell blast' warnings wouldn't have worked. A weather alert radio would seem to be a critical piece of safety equipment for any group on a river which could be subjected to flooding.

I'll say it. Yes, there has always been huge floods on this planet. We know this. But I truly believe cloud seeding has been going on. It creates things like this and gives democrats freedom to scream "climate change" and "it's Trumps fault." Sadly some light weights will believe it but most have enough sense to know better. This flood was a tragedy beyond words. But I think this goes beyond what nature usually does and maybe had a little help from sicko democrats.

I can't let one post go by without just a slight touch of sarcasm -
Thank You #2 for your clear and concise explanation of why this all happened. Glad to hear that
mother nature wasn't involved and all of this was preventable !! !
NOW I know why people from all backgrounds and across the board are doing their best of
escape this wretched h*ll h*le that is Texas !! Every day I see the U-Hauls lined up to get on the freeways, people pulling carts containing their meager possessions trying to escape the horror of
Trump & Abbott and escape to somewhere, ANYWHERE, as long as it isn't Texas ( California maybe ? ).
Keep up the good work. There are far too many of us who will wither away, slowly starving to death
while we sit on our bottoms waiting for government to sweep in, save the day and provide all
that we need without worrying or care !!
/soff
Disgustingly ignorant AND stupid. A dangerous combination.

Now it is clear that Camp Mystic was near the bank of the river. The photo of the ca,p building sows a ruined shell though which the flood must have raged. One can only hope and pray for thisde 27 still missing little girls, who were said to be 8-10 years of age. My heartaches for them and their families.

What would we expect a Lb anti-Trumper to say? To them, everything has to be Trump's fault.
