Who Is Proud To Be An American?

The headlines this week have blared about how pride in America has plunged under President Donald Trump. But the Gallup Poll driving all these stories paints a very different picture from the headlines. What the data actually show is that, not only did pride among Democrats plunge this year, it has been falling for them over the past 23 years – even when the sainted Barack Obama was in the White House. In Obama’s first year in office, 78% of Democrats said they were “extremely or very proud” to be an American. But by his last year in office, that share had dropped to 68%. Not surprisingly,

Who is proud to be an American? Americans who actually know their country's undistorted history, that's who! Since Demorats love Marxism/Communism they've obviously been brainwashed into hating this wonderful country. Too many Republicans, 8%, are not proud of our country according to this poll. The two indicate how effectively our educational institutions have been sabotaged over the last 60 or so years. We'll never get anywhere until the teaching of our history is fixed, not to mention teaching kids to think for themselves again.

Im American born and raised. This became apparent to me when I served overseas. Where ever you go, Americans stand out like a sore thumb. We are rude, brash, as unaologetic. Only the Aussies come close. Oir culture is similar to the rest of the world as feudal Japan was to ancient Rome. Most days Im proud of my country and on some days I'm ashamed. But, it is my country and the one that I most want to live in. No other country offers the same level of comfort, standardization and convenience. None have more accomplishments, none have a bill of rights like ours, none offer the same opportunities or rewards self reliance and determination. I can't move to Germany and become a German, I can't be British, I can't be Russian, I can't be Italian. But anyone can come here and be an American.

I am. My wife is. I think my kids are. Two of seven grandkids are. Other five are way too young to understand. Every day in the morning I'm facing those purple majesties with stomach in/chest out/hand over my heart playing America the Beautiful. You can also play Mark Levin's closeout of his program. Every Friday evening with a re-play of Ray Charles, America the Beautiful. Coming up in just under 5 hours.

Sadly American History was no long taught when my younger son was in high school. He's 47 now and really has no connection to our history. That breaks my heart. I've been a voracious reader all my life and so many of the books I read were histories. I know what our ancestors did to create this wonderful country. It's something neither my son nor my granddaughter - in her 30's - will ever know or understand. (She the child of much older son.)

California’s New ‘Holiday’ 7 replies

For most, July 1 is nothing more than just another rectangle on the calendar before a major holiday. In California, it has become a day of dread – the day gasoline prices jump because of another fuel tax hike in the state that already punishes its drivers with the highest prices in the nation. Lawmakers passed, and then Gov. Jerry Brown signed, Senate Bill 1 in 2017. Known as the Road Repair and Accountability Act, it was Sacramento’s promise that the state’s cracked, potholed, car-busting and outdated streets, highways and bridges would be fixed. All that had to be done was tax California motorists enough to generate $52 billion

It has been amusing to watch Democrats struggle to cope with the success of 33-year-old socialist Zohran Mamdani’s decisive win in the New York mayoral primaries. Why all the handwringing? Mamdani is now the mainstream of the once great Democratic Party. The only difference is that Mamdani isn’t afraid to say what other Democratic politicians try to hide. Think about what Mamdani has proposed or supported: • A yearlong freeze on rent • A $30 minimum wage • Free bus service • City-owned grocery stores • Defunding the police • Calling Israel’s war in Gaza a genocide. “Mainstream” Democrats support every one of these positions

President Donald Trump’s eventful presidency continues to leave most Democrats and independents unimpressed, but he gets top grades from Republicans, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. Can he build on recent policy successes to improve his standing with non-GOP voters, or will Trump’s strong personality, offhand remarks, and bold leadership style alienate them? Each month, I&I/TIPP asks voters to gauge presidential favorability, leadership, and performance. In the just-finished national online poll of 1,421 adults taken from June 25-27, Trump’s grades from voters remain little changed.

Faced with the failure of their policies, far-left and outright socialist Democrats in blue-state America are doubling down. Whether it’s New York, California or midwestern leftist havens Minnesota and Illinois, the socialist model will bring only more failure and misery to its citizens. And, because they voted for it, they’ll get what they deserve. We’re not gloating here. The Democratic Party was once a serious political group that based its popularity on appealing to centrist blue-collar working-class Americans and moderate urban liberals. The extreme left was largely, though not entirely, marginalized. Today, that’s sadly no longer true.

Zohran Mamdani, winner of the Democratic Party’s New York City mayoral primary, is overflowing with Marxist ideas of how to govern that are so lousy that it’s hard to believe he got more than his own vote in Tuesday’s election. Each of them is horrendous, from free bus services to rent control to punitive taxes on those who create prosperity, but none are quite so laughable as his proposal to establish a chain of city-run grocery stores. Mamdani’s campaign literature – overflowing with empty leftist jargon – says if elected he “will create a network of city-owned grocery stores focused on keeping prices low, not making a profit.”

For a brief window this week, President Donald Trump was out of the running for a Nobel Peace Prize, after a Ukrainian lawmaker withdrew his nomination on Monday for not ending the war there, and before Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., nominated him on Tuesday for the ceasefire between Israel and Iran. You can imagine the guffaws and hair-pulling from the Trump-is-Hitler crowd at the thought that anyone would see him as a suitable candidate for this prize. But as much as we’d love to watch their heads explode as he walked up to accept the award, we think Trump should

Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett, an ideal representative for the lunatic constituency, said last week that Donald Trump supporters are mentally ill. Has she looked at the party she is willingly a member of? Or even herself? No, because if she did, she’d realize that it’s her side that is not well. There are a number of patients who need to be seen, certainly millions, but first, we’ll check in with James Carville. While he’s no longer the Democratic Party’s hottest shot, and doesn’t have the influence he once had as Bill Clinton’s main hack, he’s still emblematic of the left’s descent into madness. Consider

Let’s not beat around the bush: as a speechwriter at the highest levels of politics and business for 45 years – including the most successful presidential campaign in history – this commentator can present you an undeniable truth. President Donald J. Trump’s remarks Saturday night in the wake of America’s “spectacular military success” striking Iran’s key nuclear facilities didn’t necessarily amount to an oration for the ages. But they did showcase a heroic man rising to a historic moment – and then some – with a pithy, powerful and pointed address.

Joe Biden has always been a fabulist. Since he first stepped onto the national stage, he has woven myths about his life. Joe needed the gravitas of good grades and a solid academic background to move up the ladder of national politics, so he invented a student who never existed. Joe threatened to fight a man who asked about his academic chops and claimed he went to law school on “a full academic scholarship.” Except, he didn’t. He claimed he had three degrees from college. Except, he doesn't. He claimed he was in the “top half” of his law school class. Nope. He was in the “steerage” section

Just one day after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wrapped up his self-indulgent “magic minute” marathon, the truth is starting to surface: Even many Democrats weren’t impressed. His hours-long fauxibuster—meant to stall the inevitable passage of the GOP’s One Big, Beautiful Bill—ended up accomplishing absolutely nothing for the Democrats’ cause. The only minds that were changed were Republicans who flipped from “no” to “yes.” Let’s not kid ourselves. This wasn’t some bold act of resistance or savvy legislative tactic. It was performative grandstanding, plain and simple—a desperate attempt to look like he’s fighting while doing absolutely nothing to stop the bill. [Video] The bill passed 218-214

One year from now, you will not be able to turn around without receiving notice of America’s semiquincentennial jubilee. The jollity of the occasion will not change the fact that it will be seven years premature. The historical significance assigned to July 4, 1776, the date the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress, is befuddling. Without victory in the Revolutionary War, which began over a year earlier, any declarations regarding American independence made during the summer of 1776 would have the same significance today as the “declarations of independence” made by the 11 Confederate States in 1860-61.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of California has filed a class-action lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), demanding an immediate halt to what it describes as “unlawful immigration raids” across the Los Angeles area. The left-leaning nonprofit accuses the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of carrying out unconstitutional raids and targeting “migrants with brown skin.” The plaintiffs allege that DHS and ICE have carried out unconstitutional arrests in order to meet arrest quotas allegedly set out on June 6 by the Trump administration. The suit specifically claims that officials have based arrests and detentions on race and ethnicity with no articulable reasonable suspicion.

Donald Trump has never been one to shy away from a fight, but this time, he’s done more than just rattle the Democrats—he’s practically handed Republicans the keys to a midterm landslide in 2026. The playbook was simple, the execution flawless, and the results devastating for the opposition. Here’s what happened. When Zohran Mamdani, the antisemitic socialist, won the Democratic primary for mayor of New York City, many Democrats were less than thrilled. Last month, the Associated Press reported that his victory “exposed anew the fiery divisions plaguing the Democratic Party as it struggles to repair its brand nearly half a year into Donald Trump’s presidency.” Many progressives cheered

Last week I visited New York City, a place that for generations has represented the magnificence of the American experiment. The economic dynamism of Wall Street, the fine arts of Broadway, and the sports sanctuaries of Madison Square Garden and Yankee Stadium have all made the city exceptional. My early-morning walks downtown along the Hudson River, with the Statue of Liberty in sight, reminded me why America is a beacon of opportunity for people from every corner of the world — including my grandparents, who came to escape religious persecution in Eastern Europe. But as I returned home to Auburn, Ala., I learned New York Democrats had chosen Zohran Mamdani,
