House Republicans on Thursday passed President Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" so it can be sent to his desk in time for the Fourth of July holiday. The passage marks a significant achievement for House Speaker Mike Johnson and Trump, who corralled Republican hardliners all day Wednesday in order to get the necessary support. Some House Republicans opposed things like Medicaid reform and caps on state and local tax deductions.

Apparently Massie will only vote yea on a "*Perfect*" Republican bill. Either that or he's just a 24/7 TDSaholic! Fitzpatrick sounds like a flamin' TDS simp too. Republicans managed to save their skins, and their reelection chances too. Republicans really do need to cut the dang spending though. They've been stringing Conservatives along for decades by promising to do so, but never do. Democrats? Well they're hopeless.

This morning I hung a new flag on my house that I received from my Grandson as part of his Scout Troop's Memorial Day Celebration which honored fallen heroes who fought for American Freedoms. After seeing the House leader Mike Johnson speaking about the founding of America and what it means to live in our great nation, and the vision for America that can now move forward because of sanity and fiscal responsibility prevailing in the passage of this bill, I will hardly be able to gaze on the beautiful flag without a tear trickling down my cheek. God Bless America!

It’s amazing how the “nays” turned into “ayes”. Last night on Fox NC, Newt Gingrich said that by voting no, a Republican was signing his resignation letter. Lisa in the Senate figured that out when she saw that she was the deciding vote.

Thomas Harold Massie Wikipedia "In September 2021, he was the only Republican to vote against $1 billion of funding for Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system." "In May 2022, Massie was the only member of the House of Representatives to vote against a non-binding resolution denouncing antisemitism and opposition to Israel" "Massie voted "present" on the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement, the only member of the House to do so and the only Republican not to vote against it.[122] Massie was the only member of the House to vote against extending sanctions on Iran in 2016.[123] He was also one of three House members to vote against a 2017 bill to impose new sanctions on Iran, Russia, and North Korea.[124] " "Massie is among a handful of members of Congress who consistently vote to block disaster relief. However, when Kentucky has been hit by natural disasters, Massie has supported disaster relief." "In 2025 he was the sole Republican to vote against the re-election of Mike Johnson, after others changed their votes.[214]" Thomas Harold Massie. Remember that name. Enemy Of The People.

And if he has no human competition, then any dog, cat, hamster, goldfish paramecium or any other form of life will also get my donation as long as they are running against Massie, the Irredeemable. I'm grateful for the tax cuts to be normalized; however, at least for the time being, this Populist orgy of spending, while taking the shackles off of the debt limit, drives another nail in the coffin of Conservatism. Tony Blair's "Third Way" was derived from Bill Clinton's stated - but not realized - version of Populism, as they both were fueled by the good economic results of Reagan and Thatcher Conservatism. Populism being neither inherently left nor right; is more of an "Us versus Them" pseudo-ideology, mostly adopted on the left, which has been embraced by individual politicians, both left and right of center, although there is no 'conservative populism' as a recognized political ideology. Both Clinton and Blair morphed their brand of populism, claiming to be just left of center but in actuality, passed the baton straight to far left Progressivism, with Obama picking up where they left off, after GW Bush set Conservatism back, while damaging the GOP, in many ways stimulating the rise of the RINOs. Viktor Orban of Hungary, is a self-styled right of center populist' but his policies have no relationship to American Conservatism. Trump has positioned his brand of Populism as right of center, adopting Conservative policy rhetoric (e.g., government budget restraint, smaller government, strong military, national sovereignty, secure borders), delivering on most of it thus far, with budget restraint left in question. Some time, some how, somebody will have to eliminate deficit spending, as well as begin and sustain the actual reduction of our national debt. Failure to do so can only result in societal collapse.

A U.S. federal appeals court ruled Friday that the United States must face potentially billions of dollars in legal claims over a temporary ban on residential evictions during the COVID pandemic that affected millions of landlords. One year from now, you will not be able to turn around without receiving notice of America’s semiquincentennial jubilee. The jollity of the occasion will not change the fact that it will be seven years premature. The historical significance assigned to July 4, 1776, the date the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress, is befuddling. Without victory in the Revolutionary War, which began over a year earlier, any declarations regarding American independence made during the summer of 1776 would have the same significance today as the “declarations of independence” made by the 11 Confederate States in 1860-61.
