There’s a narrative being pushed heavily by Democrat leaders and the media that the protests over the weekend were basically nonviolent and peaceful. I would argue that if you have to brag about that, that’s telling in of itself, but in this day and age, it also means it’s probably not entirely true. (Snip) In fact, there is footage of a bunch of “protesters” attacking a car in Los Angeles. The driver, who had every reason to be fearful, drove through them, running over one of the women attacking the vehicle. [Tweet, video]
It remains to be seen what will happen in this case.

First off, that'd be a 300 lb rioter OP. Second, temptation is likely great for drivers to run over every one of those fools, but likely the drivers aren't Democrats.

From the article:
"“If you’re driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety,” Florida Gov. DeSantis said last week during an interview. “So if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that’s their fault for impinging on you.”

During the reign of Joe Biden they got off without even a jay walking ticket.
It's time they learned that the streets are for vehicles not pedestrians sitting in the street.

Re #2, that's the law in Florida. Just a guess, but Cali law probably is WAY different. May require you toget out of your car, apologize for interfering with their riot, and let them burn your car and beat you to death.

Loud crunching sound as the car rolled over at least one leg, perhaps both. I will bet big money she never tries THAT move again.
Hope she has an orthopedic surgeon on speed dial. Big owie, probably going to be "down" for a while.

Self defense.
When you're in fear for your life.
Look at the disparity of force. Angry rioters trying to stop your car. It only takes a second to break your window and drag you out. Ask Reginald Denny.

I cannot explain why, but I enjoyed this video so much that I watched it fifteen times in a row. As the mother of Forrest Gump once said, "Stupid is as stupid does."

We Louisianians were told a day or two before the anti-kings insurrection, that if we were mobbed in our vehicles and felt threatened, we could run over the rioters. I went into town on the 14th and drove around really slow, but to my utter disappointment, no rioters attacked me.

Just some more of that "decency" that Walz hurled at us today...... Minneapolis-style "decency," rioting, mayhem and looting.

If you're surrounded by an angry mob that might maim or even kill you if they can get to you inside your car, your best defensive weapon might be your car. On the Active Self Protection YT channel, proprietor John Correia has over a number of years shown many videos of drivers defeating assailants on foot or on motorcycle, some magnificently. I fondly recall a video in which an assailant with a gun was trying to shoot his intended victim. When the car hit the robber, hard between his knees and waist, his aim at the fellow behind the wheel was violently disrupted, and his first shot missed the driver, missed the entire car. Instead, the bullet went through the robber's own head. As Forrest Gump said, "It happens." Call the meat wagon.
If you decide the situation is dangerous enough to require you to go forward, in gear, any potential assailant standing in front of the car is going to go down, and either over or under the car. Or folded over the front. The only caveat is 99.99% of cars cars aren't bulletproof (unless they're made that way). If your attacker has a gun, he could shoot you as you either drive away from him or run him over. If he misses, it might be his final miss.
Remember the leadoff song from the Alice Cooper album Killer (1971)? "... I'm driving right to you, yeah, I guess that you couldn't see, yeah yeah, but you were under my wheels, honey. Why don't you let me be?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5qqo2sFLPA (Alice Cooper "Under My Wheels")

Preparing to run into assailants isn't new idea. I was always prepared to do so in parts of Brooklyn NY some decades back.

What I see is a women trying to get onto the hood of a car. The car moved and the women fell off. No one’s fault but her own. Hoods are not the place to jump onto to hitch a ride!

Reminds me of the idiot who laid down across the railroad tracks in front of a special train hauling nuclear weapons components. He lost both legs and ended up in a wheelchair. Transports (trains and trucks) containing nuclear components do not stop (except in scheduled, secure locations) because of possible terrorism. Anyone who gets in the way will pay a high price for their stupidity.
