“Mass Deportations Now.”
It wasn’t just a slogan on signs — it was a rallying cry that galvanized millions of voters. The promise was the restoration of American sovereignty through the removal of all illegal aliens — not just the violent ones. Americans understand that national unity requires assimilation, and assimilation is impossible when millions pour in illegally and remain indefinitely. The message that won the election was not “Mass Deportations, But Only For The Worst Offenders.”
But on Thursday President Donald Trump posted the following on Truth Social:
“Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking

If Trump is the business man we all know he is, he knows that you discover a problem, you figure out a way to fix the problem. If we start keeping the "good illegals" here for the farmers, next we're keeping them here for manufacturing, construction. Then, amnesty is for tens of millions is next. Who wins? Not US. Same oh, same oh. Trump should know we won't accept this. There are too many people coming over to our side in agreement with mass deportations without prejudice. Some of us are already frustrated by the slowness of the MAGA process. We know everything won't happen overnight, but bad things are happening really fast. A win here and there is not enough; winning needs to be overwhelming.

I agree. A compromise now will make the protestors look victorious and they will put more pressure on.
Criminals first and all exposed illegals after that.

This is stupid and could end everything. The ONLY way to do this and keep the MAGA movement is to very carefully work on a Green card program that is limited and monitored. At the same time, stop subsidizing big Ag corn. STOP making bad gas additive out of corn. End the ethanol scam. END the gentleman farmer scam and the foreign ownership of farm land, as well as people like Bill Gates controlling hundreds of thousands of acres. End ALL illegals in the construction industry. IF construction companies can't find workers, pay to train some. It would be money well spent vs millions of illegal parasites. Same for big tech and Indians working for the cheapest pay.

The answer to this “problem “ is an Orange Card system with three key differences from a regular Green Cards. One, no path to citizenship. Two, valid only during active gainful employment. Three, tSS and retirement benefits paid only in country of origin.

I have long called for a reformation of our immigration policy, simplify, make it cheaper all while picking the best and brightest in everything from tech to medicine to trades. Immigration should be about offering citizenship to those that want to contribute, assimilate, and be authentic Americans. Immigration has suffered under government largesse the same as Medicare and our tax code. THAT however does not mean amnesty. In fact I would say anyone who abused the visa system or simply came here criminally should go to the back of the line. They have proven themselves untrustworthy. A useful criminal is still a CRIMINAL!

Some say there are 40 million illegals. If they all vote and half live on welfare and Medicaid we are toast. Look at what the states are paying now for illegals. Billions.

I think there is room for "Illegals" if they have a Job and a Sponsor. Many States need Seasonal Workers to pick the Crops. They come during the Season and go back during the winter. I grew up in Illinois. Where I lived the Illegals picked for the Same Farmers year after year. When the Crops were picked, the Migrant Home. They did not bring their family with them! The Farmer built what we now call a "Tiny House) for each worker. I think if they were willing to PAY that worker enough so that he is not on welfare, if they also agreed to Sponsor that Worker, I think it might work out. Of course the Migrants would be warned if they got in trouble with the Law, they would first go to Jail and then be deported home and never allowed to enter our country again. Also, I know there are plenty of Americans who could Clean for the Mighty Rich! Most of them are sitting on their Lazy Rear Ends while collecting Welfare. Shut off the Freebies and THEY would have to get a job!!

Okay, so farmers and hotel and restaurant owners are admitting to knowingly hiring and keeping illegals employed, and President Trump thinks it's okay. Isn't that a crime? Does he think we're stupid? There have been many amnesty opportunities in the past 20-30 years. There shouldn't be people who've been here decades who failed to handle their business-go the citizen route or take advantage of amnesty. What are we doing here? Unacceptable.

I'm okay with a pathway for law abiding immigrants, whether legal or not.
But the pathway starts at the end of the current waiting list, period. That's roughly a 10 year waiting process which would allow the government to do proper vetting, get them all to sign up, pay an application fee of say $3000 per person, non-refundable.
It would also blunt the Democrat argument of not wanting immigrants. And, the Democrats worked overtime to bring as many as they could over the past number of years though all sorts of programs and using short cuts.
Shows compassion and acknowledges the country needs immigrants like always.
Keep rooting out the worst who are gang members, active criminals (murder, rape, domestic violence, etc) and make sure those who have active deportation orders that they are acted upon.
Find those unaccompanied minors that the Biden administration lost track of.
Putting them at the end of the current line is NOT amnesty either.

Any amnesty now for the untold millions of illegal aliens who are in the USA will just evidence the justification for addition millions of future illegal aliens to sneak into the USA, thinking that they also will be granted a future amnesty and be able to stay indefinitely in the USA. History shows that is the case, as back in 1976 the Democrats along with so-called “cheap labor” wimpy Republicans blew enough political smoke at Reagan by claiming that they would all support the effective enforcement of the immigration laws in the future in return for Reagan going along with an amnesty for about four million illegal aliens who were then in the USA unlawfully. Reagan fell for that political baloney and signed off on that amnesty. Since then those amnesty advocators on both sides of the political spectrum never did support the effective enforcement of the immigration laws, and mass uncontrolled illegal immigration continued and expanded up to today when we are now being told that there are between twenty and thirty million mostly Third World origin illegal aliens who are greatly dependent upon US Government largess currently ensconced unlawfully in the USA. If Trump we’re to grant them amnesty he would also have to allow their foreign families to enter the USA because we have all been told that politicians can’t separate family groups.
Once you have read the above, common sense will tell you what caused the current out of control illegal alien situation? So if Trump goes along with another such amnesty, in a couple of decades, the then USA will, no doubt, be flooded with poor, uneducated and socially dependent Third World origin illegal aliens who the Democrats will claim are members of minority groups in accordance with Democrat identity politics, useful for the Democrats to transform the USA into having a minority-majority population of Democrat foreign origin supporters and voters and the USA into some sort of socialist utopia.

This plus the 500,000 visas for Chinese students, could pretty much end his second term. No Epstein clients being prosecuted. The Palantir situation.
Thought it'd be different this time, for about 5-6 weeks, then all of his worst tendencies came roaring back. Maybe some can rationalize this stuff away. Not me. Promises made. Promises broken.

#15 and #16 have it right. Those who think we should allow ‘non-criminal’ illegals to come to or stay in this country are either underground Lefties or complete ding-dongs. (Sorry, but it’s true.)
You either have and enforce laws about how to enter your country, or you don’t have a country. Any fudging will simply encourage more illegal entry— and such illegal activity will make the last four years look like NOTHING.
If Trump really does this bait-and-switch, he’s just effectively finished his presidency.

There is a process for increasing the number of legal migrants. Use it. No more illegal immigrants, not working, not paying taxes, committing crimes.

Tell the farmers, the hotel, and leisure businesses to have their workers self-deport. Then, sponsor them to come back in legally. This will require them to pay a living wage, so they will not be a burden to the country.

I wish everyone would calm down. That is one of the things I like about Donald Trump is that he will take a look at both sides. If he caters ONLY to the Republican/conservative side, in effect he doing exactly what Joe Biden was doing for the last four years. I think the Donald Trump/JD Vance administration is governing to all the American people and not just his base. That is called leadership, by the way.

It's not a flip flop. The intention has always been to send them all home and the illegals with otherwise clean records can apply through the proper channels to return if they are wanted and needed here. That is NOT amnesty. American business owners who have exploited these workers for years are the ones doing all of the complaining and they are wrong.

All immigrants are not the same. I look at the many involved in the protests and riots, not just this weekend, and they many are very militant. Look at the damage they are doing. Taxpayers are paying for all the trouble they cause. I don't want them in our prison system either, we pay for that too. These businesses that need them and use them do not cover the full cost of doing so. If they did they would not use them. The American a taxpayers cover costs of prison, free health care, schooling, and so. They pay the cheap price and pocket the profit, we pay the rest. It's not like they are all wonderful people that just need a helping hand. Even the innocents may not be such. The cartels hold their family hostage while the innocents do their bidding. Nope, the devil is in the detail as to how they are going to be sorted out, and I imagine they trying to do so won't be worth it.
The true costs of this labor must be used in the evaluation. Consider, that any amnesty program will require they operate in the open that means all the labor laws, educational laws, taxes laws, on and on must be adhered to. Those are the same factors that make hiring legitimate American workers "too" expensive, which is the real reason for "work the Americans won't do" for themselves. There are so many false narratives in this soup that it is difficult to see how it would work. Instead I'm for a more free market approach meaning no underwriting by the government. The government can do the law enforcement in keeping them out. It's far too much to try to monitor whether they are behaving. It's not just the money either. It tears at the fabric of society. We have judges sheltering criminals, politicians with NGOs that are income streams for them, corrupt businesses. We have drug and prostitution, human trafficking. It's sick and it makes our society sick. Legitimate businesses failing because people are afraid to go downtown.
I consider that since we don't have kings that at some point, probably not that far into the future, the dems will, or their replacement, will again throw open agates. As history shows, and #15 covered that well, the amnesty will not be honored. Nothing really works because of that, but if there is a strong punishment for adding and abetting the illegal use of such labor it may help keep the problem more manageable.

I am so disappointed I can hardly believe it. The promise of deporting illegal aliens is now broken and they never will be. Pam Bondi and Kash Patel have not done anything worthwhile to stop the never ending two tiers of justice system. Now we won't help Israel defeat the most subhuman regime on the planet that has vowed to wipe them and us from the face of the earth.
None of this is what I voted for. MAGA has been a ruse and the only thing President Trump wants to do is make business deals. Sorry for the lamentation but I no longer have any faith or trust in him.

OP, we should be very very concerned about these recent comments from our President. I admit I’ve wondered why someone so serious about illegals joins other Republicans last 30 years in never criticizing or punishing all those who hire them.
