Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on Thursday ordered his aerospace company to immediately decommission its Dragon capsule, which NASA uses to service the International Space Station, amid a public feud with President Donald Trump.
The cancellation is retaliation for Trump's proposal to end government contracts and subsidies it has with Musk's companies in order to balance the federal budget.
The feud between the former allies escalated in the past 48 hours after Musk publicly slammed the president's "big, beautiful bill" as a "disgusting abomination" for its failure to address deficit spending. Musk first started the fight last week when leaving public service.

While I applaud Musk for his efforts to trim federal waste via DOGE, he has become enormously wealthy primarily via federal subsidies for his companies, especially Tesla. Buying X and opening up the social media company to alternate viewpoints certainly earned Elon a million 'Attaboys' but ultimately decisions have to be made by those who are elected and need to be re-elected. Look, I understand that Musk is a business founder and entrepreneur who somewhat has to answer to no one but himself but that is not true for Trump and our Congressional representatives. Nonetheless, I will admit that I wish this argument had been conducted in private.

Well sounds like Musk is having a temper tantrum. So President Trump stopped all the money he was getting from the feds. I had no idea we were subsidizing this guy and all his blown up rockets that never got off the launch pad. Oh well, I know who I think will win this little spat and it's not Elon.

Oh please, both of you grow up! Donald Trump likes to play the playground bully with his name calling and pointing out others' weaknesses. It's flaw in Trump's personality that's both juvenile and unprofessional. You are well beyond the playground, Donald. Try being someone that others, including your enemies, respect.

I... don't believe this article. The dragon capsule is one of Elon's greatest achievements.
This might push NASA to fix the idiocy they've been using, though.

I can't help but wonder if Musk really didn't know that the spending cuts could be done in the reconciliation budget process.
My understanding is Musk needed to leave the temporary assignment within 170 days or something like that which is what happened.
Wonder if Musk enjoyed being in the public eye in DC and wasn't going to obtain a more permanent position thus felt slighted.
Or, this is all to help the leftwingers feel they can like Musk again and he can severe the DC stint much like an actress who played a goodie to shoes in a roll for a while, suddenly has a 180 degree roll that helps her break out of that type casting.

He called Trump a pedo? If true, it’s all over between them until Musk gets down on his knees and begs for forgiveness.
Does Amazon’s spacecraft work reliably? That could be a backup to Dragon.

Honestly, IMO this is much ado about , not necessarily about nothing, but close. Most of the “news” is from lefty sources. If true, I don’t really think we needed Musk…but thank you.

With all this bickering between Trump and Musk, will Trump still get the insider price
on his red Tesla? Sorry Mr. President, we can no longer do red at this price for your new Tesla.
BTW...I think this fight is a big hoax on the gullible media.

Musk is gonna take his Dragon and go home?? I'll believe it when I see it. I predict a reconciliation between these two largest egos on this planet, or any other. Perhaps that is why Elon wants to go to Mars: his ego can't fit on this planet.
#6, it's gonna come down to that! Ha! A measuring contest. Thanks for the great laugh [but horrifying visual]

As a businessman, I would have expected Musk to double the price to NASA for use of the capsule.
That being said, I thought we were beyond the days of being the party of stupid.
