Michelle Obama Is Back, Complains About
Her Time As First Lady in New Book

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is back in the public eye, complaining about her time in the White House in a new book about fashion in which she whines about how people constantly "commented on her looks." A press release from Penguin Random House about Obama's book "The Look" from the Crown Publishing Group announced that it "is a stunning journey through Michelle Obama's style evolution, in her own words for the first time. In this celebration of style, from the moment she entered the public eye during her husband's U.S. Senate campaign through her time as the first Black First Lady and today as one of this

When Betty Bacall, then aged twenty, married Humphrey Bogart in 1945, fashion magazines featured her in glamorous photo shoots and articles. She was even identified by the moniker "The Look." No one needed to wonder why because she did have the look. Attempts to transmogrify the mannish Mike into something like Bacall of eighty years ago is, I fear, asking too much. Here comes another book, just more payola for someone who is the living embodiment of the Peter Principle.

She had terrible taste in clothes. Remember when she wore those short sweaters and a belt up under her breasts. Remember the Inauguration dress that looked like it was made out of a chenille bedspread. The blue dress she is wearing on the cover of the book is probably the prettiest dress she ever wore. She has had the world handed to her on a silver platter and is wealthy beyond belief but she still whines about "poor me." She ought to be ashamed of herself. She doesn't appreciate anything she has, most of which she doesn't deserve.

For someone who has lived what many would consider an enviable life and currently lives a life of privilege, has a ton of money, Michelle Obama sure has a lot to complain about. She can always move to the Projects in Chicago or East LA to get her attitude adjusted and maybe appreciate what she has.

I'm a little older than #1. Bacall's "The ook" was something unique that she did with her eyes...her expression. Her trademark. She was also very stylish, but The Look was about her use of her eyes and face... and it was far beyond her young years. In an era pf young ingenues, she was very sophisticated. She had presence. Mooch hasn't a stylish bone in her body. For a long time she was sent boxes of clothes from a woman who owned Chicago boutique. "Wear these."

Interesting perspective #1. The 'Look' had more to do with passion than fashion. Mrs. Obama spends too much time separating black from white. Bacall stunned in black and white. Michelle was born in 1961. It's time to stop thinking that nothing of importance happened until she was born.

If she had a 'dresser,' the dresser is the one who should be fired. It started with that gawd-awful black widow dress she and the girls wore when he announced or something and it went downhill from there. I have been on a website for 20 some years that specifically started to comment on Moo!chelle's clothing and did we have fun! Almost every day Mooch wore something that deserved our attention. When I think of her, I remember her over the top shopping trips with her tribe of peeps, renting whole floors of ritzy hotels, flying all of them on taxpayers' dime. If it weren't for the money that was spent on her when she was in the White House, that woman would look like a well fed bag lady. That picture of her getting off Air Force One in baggy shorts a T-shirt and her hair at angled mess took a lot of effort on experts to dress her up. Now she is complaining again. We have followed (here and here) the story of the Champlin Park, Minnesota girls’ softball team, which was powering its way to the state title game behind the heroics of a six-foot tall pitcher who, until age nine, was named Charles. Charles became a girl, Marissa, and Champlin Park became state champion last night, behind yet another shutout performance by its star fastballer, Marissa Rothenberger. The linked Star Tribune story says nothing about the controversy over Rothenberger’s participation in girls’ sports: While the Rebels were building their lead, junior pitcher Marissa Rothenberger was shutting down the Jefferson hitters. She threw all seven innings, surrendered three hits, struck out six and

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California lawmakers this week advanced several efforts aimed at reining in utility profits and slashing electricity bills as part of their agenda to tackle the sky-high costs of living. The proposals would make sweeping changes to how utilities fund expensive infrastructure projects like putting power lines underground to guard against wildfires. They also would add more oversight around wildfire mitigation spending and put new requirements on utility requests to increase rates. Supporters said the goal is to make the big investor-owned utilities start sharing some of the costs to fight wildfires and build new transmission infrastructure. “This
