As the Trump administration continues to enact the will of the voters by tightening the borders that the Biden administration opened wide to import millions of illegals to vote Democrat, panicked Left-wing media propagandists desperately try to prop up their narrative that the President is a cruel, xenophobic dictator.
Case in point: the Chicago Tribune posted today a maudlin, 1300-word profile of an immigrant worried about her legal status, called “‘I’m really not safe’: A Venezuelan poet’s fight to stay and write in the US.”
Oriette D’Angelo, 34, “came to Chicago on a student visa over a decade ago, seeking professional opportunities

She was probably not even on ICE's radar until the Chicago Tribune helped her to out herself.

Why did they need to say she was a lesbian? I suspect they will try to turn it into homophobia, lots of lesbian gals will march, etc. I don't think it will work, tho. If she's illegal, she's breaking the law. Send her home. She can write poetry anywhere.

Anton Rubaclini tweeted "I live in constant fear that Trump will deport my latina mother-in-law who lives at 1837 3rd St, LA 90023 blue house. she gets off work at 6" (sic; on last weekend's hilarious The Week in Pictures on Powerline blog).
I guess his MIL doesn't write poetry. Deport all illegals, ASAP.

Once again, Trump is obviously showing his homophobia by threatening to deport a lesbian forever student (who is paying for her doctorate in anti-dictator poetry?) who overstayed her visa and just held a Go-Fund-Me to raise money to get a new visa once she got in trouble. She has overstayed her welcome. She is worried about her ability to continue being a forever student. OK, so what! That is not the US government's or US citizen's problem. Finish your dissertation in your useless subject online from Venezuela.

We don't need any extra perverts, especially illegal aliens.
Deport her.
It's the law, she's a criminal.

Who gives a dang if she is gay? Ten years on a student visa is more than enough.

I'm 70 years old, worked my entire adult life and have never received a hand-out. I support myself and pay my taxes. I'm sick and tired of free-loaders; domestic or foreign.

I read the article. Here's the story:
She came here as a student.
She voluntarily changed her status when she stopped being a student.
Trump revoked that status (because it was Biden nonsense) from everyone who had it (because it was nonsense). She was not personally targeted.
She applied for and received student status again.
She is here legally now, even if she's a totally useless grubber living off our tax dollars. She's an absolute net negative to this country but is legal.
The rest of the reticle is boo hoo hoo about how she "might" have something bad happen in the future because uh orange man bad.
That's it. There's nothing more in the article.

Go back to your own country and write poems about your government.

Well, there is no more critical gap in our defense than lesbian Venezuelian poets. Without them, our critical infrastructure will collapse, AI will take over, and China will take our precious bodily fluids.

Sorry, dear but I never found all that much value in poetry. If reading is a passion, spend the time on actual literature.
Hint: More Spanish words rhyme than English words.

Hard to decide what I want less to read about from today's news timeline, lesbian poetry students or more Obama complaints.

# 19, I in the corridor, heading into 80, and I'm still trying to wring some value out of it. I haven't given up, but I'm losing altitude, and attitude.
Did I miss something? Are we short on Spanish/Portugues (Br), lesbian, poetry? Rather the concern is financial. Has she been supporting herself and financing her education from her very specific poetry? I mean a doctorate in sp/pt-br lesbian poetry? Is there a market for that or is she living the high life on the US taxpayer back? Need I ask?
When are we going to elect someone who knows how to take an ax to the "budget and clear out this dead wood? She may now be here legally and therefore cannot be deported, but why do we have to pay for her.? If she isn't self-supporting ... that ought to be grounds enough.
