The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced on Thursday that a longtime USDA employee and five others were busted in one of the largest food stamp frauds in U.S. history.
A short time ago, Perry Carbone, Attorney for the United States, Charmeka Parker, the Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General and Christopher G. Raia, the Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Field Office of the FBI revealed a superseding indictment was unsealed charging six people in connection with a $66 million-plus fraud and bribery scheme under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) aka food stamp program.

In operation since 2019...finally caught by Southern District of NY investigators/prosecutors, gee, maybeee if they had focused on REAL Govt Criminals instead of having dozens working to "Get Trump" they could have stopped this and many other corrupt NYC Govt employees over the last 5 YEARS.

Their big mistake was not getting caught last year. They had plenty of cash for a pardon from the Big Guy.

Pile the free stuff on the table and some flies will take more than their share. If it's that easy, chances are it's going on all over the country. Single unemployed mothers and children hurt most.

Fraud and corruption as far as the eye can see.
Yet, we keep being told that we are not paying our "fair share".

From the City, County, State, and especially Federal government, this goes on. Even my small town allows all sorts of 'favors' for a 'consideration'. DOGE needs to be applied everywhere.

Democrats will not see this as stopping fraud and abuse. They (and their media friends) will only report that the evil Trump administration is reducing the number of stores where FS can be used creating food deserts. They will also cry about FS benefits being ripped from minorities, women, and children. They will leave out the fraudulent recipient part and neglect to report that the stores no longer offering FS are smoke shops, liquor stores, and other non food type stores.

One of the main problems with so (too) much of the Federal Government being located in the DC area (DC, MD and VA) is that too many employees are really only qualified to maybe be greeters at Walmart (and no offense to Walmart greeters). You have a sizable number of people (many Black and poorly educated) who are lucky enough to live in the DC area and get federal jobs as a some "program analyst" or "management analyst", etc. BS jobs that require no skills. They're basically glorified secretaries without the skills of real secretaries (back in the day) and these federal employees, especially the Blacks, have no appreciation for how fortunate they are to have access to good government jobs as they lack any real skills for the private sector. These federal government jobs are basically very expensive welfare. Not all are unqualified but too may are and good luck to the manager trying to fire them for poor performance which is why many managers will hire contractors instead because they can be easily fired for poor performance.

I have always felt that SNAP was an ideal place for fraud and I'll bet there are others that have not been folund yet.

I know more than a few couples that use the SNAP program. One or both have good paying jobs, but won't marry when they have illegitimate children, because they get 'FREE' benefits. The responsible parents and grandparents are generally appalled, but it doesn't phase the kids. And it's not just blacks, it's all races!

If there are no arrests and no jail time this will continue.
They have no fear. The worst that happens is losing a job or being forced to retire.
We have a total lack of accountability and justice in this country.
