An anti-Trump IT specialist the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) was arrested on Thursday for attempting to provide classified national defense information to a foreign government.
According to the DOJ, Nathan Vilas Laatsch, 28, of Alexandria, Virginia, was arrested on Thursday in northern Virginia, and will make his initial court appearance in the Eastern District of Virginia on Friday.
The Justice Department said Laatsch offered to transmit classified information to the foreign government because he did not “agree or align with the values of this administration” and was therefore “willing to share classified information” that he had access to, including “completed intelligence products, some unprocessed intelligence, and other assorted classified documentation.”

The guillotine has a very, very low rate of failure when called to "action". Such a marvelous piece of equipment.

Let's hope that he is even more not "aligned" when he is sentenced to 40 years in Leavenworth and that he "doesn't expect things to improve in the long term" as he begins his 4th decade in that Federal prison.

This Geek gives Geeks a bad name. How stupid can you be to not know that you are being monitored by other parties in the government if you have a Top Secret clearance? Hired in 2019 so apparently he agreed with everything that the clowns in the Biden Defense Department did. I hope he doesn't cry in court.

Unfortunately, this loser the the "Rule" as opposed to the "Exception" where Democrats are concerned! If Lucianne ends up taking a poll, I favor the tried and true method; Blindfold, cigarette and 9mm to the head. (5.56 NATO will also do nicely)

Democrats and media will blame President Trump, Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, John Radcliffe, Kristi Noem, and Tulsi Gabbard for running a loose ship and allowing this to happen under their watch. Not agreeing with the President is a reason for treason.

During WWII they would have been shot for treason. My late dad, a 2nd Lieutenant during the war would have gladly formed the firing squad.

Was it worth jail time...honey bun...your opposition to President Trump ?....is gonna land you some real time with other inmates...are you ready for that?...selling classified documents is a crime against Americans....unless you're biden and obama....then you can store them in a garage behind the corset...or in obamas case...an ole warehouse in the south of Chicago holds all kinds of information....just waiting for some young man to find them....

Every single Trump Cabinet Secretary and agency Administrator hopefully realizes that the federal employees working for them (not all but a lot) hate Trump and will do what they can to sabotage the agency to make it look bad or the Secretary or Administrator look bad. Careful who you trust. They did it in his first term and they are doing it now, especially because they feel threatened by DOGE, etc.

That poor imbecilic brat.
He's off to prison now until his trial.
He'll get off if his lawyer argues he was brain-washed in college, but give them plenty of time to decide that's the proper course.

What he did is treason and the penalty is death. He needs to be put in front of a firing squad to let those who wish to commit the same crime a chance to rethink their actions.

There remains only one appropriate response to treason, regardless of the reason or political ideology. Sadly, we stopped responding accordingly after 1953.

I believe the IT staffer has confused his role with that of policy setters for the DIA and the POTUS. For clarification to the IT staffer, your job is not to set policy, and it does not matter if you agree with the policy set by your supervisors, or the President of the USA. If you want to be a policy setter, you will need to get a promotion, or get elected President.

The article claims Laatsch was attempting to sell information to a "friendly foreign government." If a foreign government is covertly cultivating intelligence assets inside our country, why should we presume it is a "friendly" in nature. I would call such actions "adversarial"... but what do I know... I'm just a bumpkin living in flyover country...
