That cold January night when Jussie walked into the Chicago Police Department station with the noose still around his neck, trailing the hanging rope behind him, a cop looked at him, trying hard not to burst out laughing, shook his head, and said, "You wanna take that thing off?" Nobody believed the intrepid Jussie except (Michelle) Obama insider Kim Foxx. She was absolutely convinced that the actor had been attacked by two no-neck MAGA goons at two in the morning when it was ten below outside. What redneck wouldn't? Jussie ought to hire a couple more gay Nigerian bodybuilders with red hats to repeat the stunt. The credulous Ms. Foxx will surely believe him. Maybe the cops won't titter behind his back the next time he wears a hangman's noose into the local precinct. Everyone everywhere is obsessed with Jussie and his gayness. It's all we ever think about. He wants his additional fifteen minutes. And he wants it now.

The MSM jumped on the story, eager to confirm an ongoing hateful narrative, accusing middle America of having racist, white nationalist sympathies. That rush to judgment gave credence to a questionable narrative that fell apart once the facts were in. Our MSM could do itself a favor by showing a little restraint before it smears folks on the right. Better late than never.

Democrats love to preach about transparency and democracy, but the latest revelations from inside Joe Biden’s campaign expose a deception that borders on a constitutional crisis. We now know that Biden wasn’t just a weak candidate; he was a figurehead propped up by unelected aides who planned to run the country in his place. In a stunning exchange on Fox News Sunday, a chilling revelation from Alex Thompson, co-author with Jake Tapper of “Original Sin,” laid bare what many of us on the right had long suspected about Joe Biden’s bid for a second term: It was never about serving — it was about installing a shadow presidency

After his disastrous decision to run for reelection helped secure Donald Trump’s victory, former President Joe Biden is fighting for his reputation — and struggling to rake in cash. The subject of recent books detailing his decline, Biden is apparently having trouble bringing in speaking fees and difficulty fundraising for his presidential library, The Wall Street Journal reports. Perhaps this should come as no surprise. After Biden’s catastrophic 2024 debate performance against Trump revealed the extent of his declining health and marked the end of his campaign, why would anyone pay the former president to speak? And who would want to fund a Biden presidential library, as a monument

The first pictures have emerged of a North Korean warship seemingly covered in tarpaulin after it capsized and sank in front of dictator Kim Jong Un. Satellite images appear to show the naval destroyer languishing on its side alongside the dock where a launch ceremony had been held. But the launch failed, and analysis of pictures taken on Thursday suggest the ship is now partially submerged and covered with bright blue tarpaulins in an apparent attempt to conceal the wreckage. State media said the the 5,000-ton ship, which had been due to enter service next year, is designed to carry weapons systems including nuclear-capable ballistic and cruise missiles.

Bob Dylan celebrates his 84th birthday today. When he snagged the Nobel Prize for Literature a few years ago, I pulled out all the stops by posting a big set of my favorite covers of his songs. I don’t have any stops left to pull, but I’m adding another cover or four (again) this year in honor of his birthday today. Dylan is first and foremost a songwriter. See, for example, Raymond Foye’s interview with Clinton Heylin about his deep dive into the Dylan archive. Dylan somehow absorbed the folk, rock, country, and blues traditions as a precocious young man growing up in Hibbing and then recapitulated

Public chargers are few and far between and often don’t work. *EVs are much more expensive than comparable conventional vehicles. *Parts are scarce and insurance and repair costs outlandish. *They lose value at incredible rates and there is virtually no used EV market. *They tend to spontaneously combust and since they make their own oxygen when on fire, are virtually impossible to extinguish. *They’re bought almost exclusively

I want to celebrate him as long we’re both still around to enjoy the occasion. He is a remarkable artist, self-invented, deep in the American grain. A few years back I visited Dylan’s old home at 2425 7th Avenue East in Hibbing. The house is a small two-story residence with a one-car attached garage on the side. The house is exactly two blocks from Hibbing High School, Dylan’s alma mater. A Dylan fan must be somewhere in the chain of title. At the time

Many pro-Israel people I know, both Jewish and non-Jewish, are deeply worried about Trump’s current Middle East positions. He’s marginalizing Israel in negotiations with Saudi Arabia, accepting on the government’s behalf a luxury plane from double-dealing Qatar, and handing money to the goons in Syria. At the same time, he’s seemingly freezing out Israel, to the great consternation of Israel and its supporters. So, what gives? Having read Charles Lipson’s superb analysis of the problems in dealing with an almost nuclear Iran, and how Biden created this monster, I suspect that “what gives” may be Trump trying an out-of-the-box approach to isolating Iran long enough for his economic policies

For more than a decade, the Democratic Party operated like a palace, ruled not by consensus but by decree. Its monarchs were familiar: President Barack Obama with his golden tongue and cool detachment, Nancy Pelosi with her iron gavel, and a press corps that never met a Democrat it couldn’t describe as “historic.” Together, they built something. Not a movement but an illusion. Now, in the wake of President Joe Biden’s implosion and Donald Trump’s return to the White House, the spell has broken. What was once ironclad unity has dissolved into whispered recriminations, panicked donor calls, and a leadership vacuum the size of Pennsylvania Avenue.
