House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that there were “more than 1.4 million illegal aliens on Medicaid.”
Johnson said, “We are not cutting Medicaid in this package. There‘s a lot of misinformation out there about this.”
He continued, “The numbers of Americans who are affected are those that are entwined in our work to eliminate fraud, waste and abuse. And what do I mean by that? You got more than 1.4 million illegal aliens on Medicaid. Medicaid is not intended for non-U.S. citizens. It‘s intended for the most vulnerable populations of Americans, which is pregnant women and young single mothers, the disabled, the elderly.

ILLEGAL INVADERS know that the U.S. taxpayer doesn't really know where their monies go. They want it kept that way.

Johnson, you have to actually do something to stop the waste, fraud, and abuse. None of this just started happening yesterday. Where has the House been all these decades? Why haven't you made it a priority among the long list of priorities before now. Talk is cheap! Do something!

Remarkable. Within a couple of hours of him saying this, the usual bunch of elderly, leftist losers - believing the very misinformation he was trying to address - were gathered with their signs at the main intersection of two state roads in my small, California town. The flavor this weekend was, "HANDS OFF MEDICAID!"

This is illegal, so why can't there be prosecutions? The taxpayer gets robbed and nothing is done. Why not?

Deport all of them, after confiscating their bank accounts and cars or trucks to pay back, partially.

The Democrats want as many illegal aliens as possible to be on Medicaid and all other forms of social welfare so the illegal aliens will be dependent upon them. Clearly the Democrats consider almost all illegal aliens in the USA to be prospective Democrat supporters and voters, that’s why the Democrats are crying so loudly at the Trump Administration’s efforts to effectively enforce the immigration laws, and are against any illegal aliens being removed (deported) from the USA.

Question back to Speaker Johnson: “Why on Earth did Congress allow this sort of malfeasance to continue,, sight unseen?”

The most outrageous thing is that nearly half of the House Members are STILL opposing removal of waste fraud and abuse (215/214 vote). All these 214 should be tarred feathered and run out of town. But they don't seem to be paying any price.

With estimates of 10 to close to 20 million illegals in the country, I'm betting 1.4 million isn't even close to the number of illegals sucking up benefits! Go to any hospital emergency room in any city, large and small, and observe the patients.

As a retired federal employee who does not have a golden pension, I blame Congress more so than my fellow former bureaucrats. Congress controls the purse strings and yet how many years (decades?) have they failed to pass budgets for each department and instead it's CR after CR. Unlike the ex-feds at USAID and other useless agencies, I never was in any position to write and approve grants to my buddies or their companies or NGOs, so do not lump all of us in the USAID fraud, waste and abuse dump. The Inspectors Generals are useless as they have no authority other than to make recommendations. If anything criminal is found, they refer to DOJ (ha!). And IGs are political animals, moving back and for between the government and the private sector or think tanks. They do not want to pee where they are getting their water.

There is fraud in medicare too. So called approved procedures and medical equipment is pushed on members. An unneeded wheelchair was pushed on me. I declined but that did no good. They delivered it anyway. Turns out it was a rent to own. $250/month for 12 months. Medicare and the insurance company approved and were willing to pay with no money from me (except for my $650/mo premiums). After 12 months the 3k$ had paid for the chair. Same exact chair could have been delivered to the door by Amazon for $157. One time! $157. Not per month! One time charge!
That chair is in a corner in the garage gathering dust. Never been used.
I get phone calls everyday, mostly from phone centers in India, pushing me to get some Medicare approved thing. Meals delivered to the door. Various services or medical equipment. Average 10 calls per day. All claim no charge to me. And they are right. It is no charge to me because medicare announced they will cover those things.
I am reminded of some particular medical thing a while back that congress approved for Medicare/Medicaid to cover. The advocates said it would only amount to $20 million per year. In the first year it exceeded 1 billion.

I remember the first time I saw the words, "deficit spending", and I thought, "that's a contradiction" - deficit spending - that must mean spending money that you do not have. Why are we paying taxes to the government on our income so that people who have never paid any income tax - like the l.4 million (if only) illegals, mentioned above, can have the benefits of our health care system? The hospitals, the doctors, the medical services, all have to be paid. What do you do when you have more deficits than money to cover them? - you guessed it - deficit spending - our government writes checks on some 'zero balance checking account'.
Obviously, I know nothing about economics (I was a second-grade teacher), but we all know you have a price to pay for having a check bounce. So we cover our deficits by issuing government bonds to countries like China, Japan and others. They buy our bonds - with interest - and the money from those transactions cover the potentially bounced checks. I am not sure about the wisdom of owing money to an enemy, because our country is responsible for reimbursing those who buy our bonds - with interest. Seems that someone might have to "pay the piper" sone day! Or, better yet, why doesn't our government stop borrowing money from others to finance programs that do not benefit the people providing the monies for the programs. Thank God DOGE is discovering all the waste, fraud and abuse present in our systems. Too many people in government do not care that their wasteful spending - or. should we say, thoughtless borrowing - will cause the country to go bankrupt, and, if that happens, the only ones to benefit will be our enemies.

All they have to do is apply or walk in a local office and they get Medicaid.
