Here are the ‘politburo’ members who

A small, tight-knit group in former President Joe Biden’s inner circle was running the White House like a “politburo,” and they were the “ultimate decision-makers” as Biden’s health and cognitive function continued to decline, according to the authors of a bombshell new book. This group, dubbed the “politburo,” included a coterie of seasoned political veterans, including Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti and Bruce Reed — but also family members such as first lady Jill Biden and the president’s son Hunter, the authors of “Original Sin” claim. “In terms of who was running the White House, it’s a small group of people that have been around,

“ An unidentified cabinet secretary vented about the Politburo, saying, “I’ve never seen a situation like this before, with so few people having so much power. They would make huge economic decisions without calling [Treasury] Secretary Yellen.” And yet, the unidentified cabinet secretary didn’t say anything to anyone (that we know of). Useless tool.

We did not elect them nor vet them. The members of Congress had to vet President Trump's Cabinet, yet these people were actually ruining (running) the country. They should be tried for treason for the mess they caused our Republic while handing behind the scenes. The MSM should also be held accountable for never asking who was making all of the decisions. This is a major scandal and has to be investigated. Shame on Jill Biden for going along with it. She should be tried too.

Interesting coincidence. Politburo Mike Donilon's brother Tom Donilon has history with Obie and Joe. Curious... Headline: Benghazi – During Attack Denis McDonough and Tom Donilon Replace President Obama and VP Biden… https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2013/01/05/benghazi-not-conspiracy-just-an-old-fashioned-cover-up-of-ineptitude-with-the-kids-making-decisions/ Neither Obie nor VP Joe was on duty while Benghazi was going down. But Denis McDonough and Tom Donilon were."on duty". In the place of the president and VP who were on the4 phone with Netanyahu.

If we knew what was going on, even if we didn't have most of the names until now, the republicans in Congress knew what was going on and did nothing to expose it. They are just as guilty. I hope this exposure humiliates the Bidens for the absolute deceitful cons that we knew they were. Thanks staff for reining in #4, this is not the first time.

With all of the offenses committed by the Dems and their useful idiots over the last eight years, you would think there'd be at least one arrest of a major player, and what do we have so far? Comey being brought in for questioning and released. The public has absolutely lost its appetite for a diet of endless hearings and investigations ending with nothing to show for it.

The White House defended Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. amid scrutiny of the administration's "Make America Healthy Again" (MAHA) Commission report, which was found to cite multiple studies that do not exist. At a Thursday briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed concerns, insisting the report remains a "transformative" achievement. When a reporter asked Leavitt directly if artificial intelligence had played a role in drafting the 73-page report—a possibility raised by the volume of citation errors—Leavitt declined to answer. "I can't speak to that," she said. "I would defer you to the Department of Health and Human Services."
Goodbye Tariffs? 1 reply

Big news yesterday and today on the tariff front. Yesterday, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that President Trump’s “Worldwide and Retaliatory Tariffs” and “Trafficking Tariffs” on goods from Mexico and Canada exceed the authority delegated to him by Congress. The administration immediately appealed that ruling, and today it was stayed by the Federal Circuit pending further litigation. So the tariffs remain in place, for the moment. The Constitution gives Congress, not the president, the power to “lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises,” and to “regulate Commerce with foreign Nations.” By statute, Congress has delegated some of that authority to the president.

MIT President Sally Kornbluth officially closed the Community and Equity Office after earlier prohibiting the use of diversity statements in faculty hiring or student admissions, a university official confirmed. A senior administrative position at the office will also be eliminated as part of a return to a merit-based focus kicked off by Kornbluth in January 2024. That process involved an assessment of the DEI office’s relative success as determined by senior faculty and staff members. “MIT is in the talent business. Our success depends on attracting

The DHS notice indicates that the official list was published in accordance with an Executive Order issued by Pres. Trump late last month. Still to come, Each jurisdiction listed will receive formal notification of its non-compliance and all potential violations of federal criminal statutes. If you a curious, you can check for yourself to see which localities in your state(s) are included. Some states, I noticed, do not have a listing.

In January, Meta announced policy changes intended to reduce the number of enforcement mistakes, as part of Zuckerberg’s commitment to enable free speech on Meta’s platforms. The company’s newly released Q1 report shows that the company is taking steps to put its weight behind Zuckerberg’s words. The report notes that in December 2024 it removed millions of pieces of content every day

This is big news: in recent decades, it has been just about impossible to get anything done in the United States. The permitting process for infrastructure projects of all kinds has become, essentially, a never-ending gauntlet that few projects can survive. There are several reasons for this, one of which is the expansive reading that activists and courts have given the National Environmental Policy Act. NEPA requires permitting agencies to analyze environmental impacts before proceeding with projects. That is a feel-good principle that, in practice, has often brought progress to a screeching halt.

Donald Trump began his presidency with the shortest of honeymoons. To give you an idea of just how set people's opinion of Trump really is, a "honeymoon" for him is an evenly divided country. He inched into positive territory on some polls, and given pollsters' history of getting Trump's support wrong, it's not unfair to assume that his support really did exceed 50% by a small margin. In that first month, Trump was definitely on a roll--love DOGE or hate it, Trump benefited from his whirlwind of activity and the complete collapse of the Democratic Party.

The ruling from a three-judge panel at the New York-based U.S. Court of International Trade came after several lawsuits arguing Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs exceeded his authority and left the country’s trade policy dependent on his whims. Trump has repeatedly said the tariffs would force manufacturers to bring back factory jobs to the U.S.

Some of the advanced weapon systems that allies have supplied to Ukraine during the 3-year war were subject to range and target restrictions — a fraught political issue stemming from fears that if the weapons struck deep inside Russia, the Kremlin might retaliate against the country that provided them and draw NATO into Europe’s biggest conflict since World War II.

Back when he bought his Tesla—a Model 3 purchased around 2019 or 2020—Cillizza assumed the real danger would come from conservatives.
