Tapper said that given Bennet was doing it in part because of his frustration with Congress and "frankly, with Democratic leadership," and "given the Democratic Party's record low popularity now," does the Democratic brand help him or hurt him?

Bennet's response was not good for the Democrats. “I don’t think nationally the Democratic brand helps very much anyway...anywhere,” Bennet replied. Oof, so true.
A 53-year-old man was detained Monday after he allegedly drove a vehicle into a crowd at the Liverpool Football Club trophy parade in Liverpool, England, injuring over two dozen people.

Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital Partners has reached an agreement to buy the UK’s Telegraph Media Group.
The in-principle agreement values the publisher of The Telegraph at £500M ($675M) and will see the U.S.-based RedBird becoming the sole owner of the paper and its associated businesses.
The Abu Dhabi-funded RedBird IMI will take a minority stake providing new legislation around foreign ownership thresholds passes into law. RedBird IMI previously had a deal in place to acquire the Telegraph and The Spectator but was stopped when the British government changed the law to block foreign ownership.

Former New York Democrat Congressman Charles Rangel has passed away.
He was 94.
Rangel served 23 terms in Congress. He was elected to Congress in 1970 and retired in 2017.
“A towering figure in American politics and a champion for justice, equity, and opportunity, Congressman Rangel dedicated over four decades of his life to public service,” the Rangel family said in a statement.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams released a statement on Rangel’s death.
“I am so sad to lose a dear friend and exemplary model of devotion and courage. My prayers are with his family, Harlem, and all who knew him,” Adams said.

Conservative commentators blasted CBS's Scott Pelley for his baseless anti-President Donald Trump commencement speech, falsely claiming that journalism and the "rule of law" were under attack.
