Former FBI Director James Comey doesn’t expect the Trump administration to take any further action against him over an Instagram post that some, including the president, viewed as a call to assassinate the commander-in-chief.
In his first public remarks since sharing an image of seashells arranged on a beach to form the numbers “86 47,” Comey told MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace he found it “hard to have regret” over the post that he still believes looks “totally innocent” — saying it was “crazy” that anyone would see it as a call for violence

Comey has been around, and you can safely bet that he knows how really wimpy the DC Republicans really are, so he may well be right!

I believe it would be hard to get a conviction since 86 can mean kill, but not always, and he claims he found it (which I think it dubious) but he says both he and his wife were on a walk and it was on the beach, and he only said it was cool. It was undignified of a former FBI director, but I think you need more.

Comey is low life scum. I guarantee that if Mr. scum was FBI director and the shells said 8646 he would make sure that whoever posted the picture would be prosecuted. The typical left wing progressive is Mr scum, he thinks he is better than the average citizen and should be treated as such.

There is enough wiggle room in the definition of the term '86' that Comey will get out of it.
fyi...one definition of '86' according to Merian-Webster. It has other meanings as well.
In the 1950s the word underwent some functional shift, and began to be used as a verb. The initial meaning as a verb was “to refuse to serve a customer,” and later took on the slightly extended meaning of “to get rid of; to throw out.” The word was especially used in reference to refusing further bar service to inebriates.
We all know that Washington wants to get rid of Trump.

Don't need to convict, just use the "Legal Process" to bankrupt him, just like they do to ordinary American citizens they want to teach a lesson to.

Let's not forget "8644", #4. I imagine a prison sentence of 20+ years for whoever committed that crime. I doubt that it would be considered as innocent or ridiculous. The book would be thrown hard.
There must be consequences for Comey. He may be 6'8" in height but he's a dwarf in moral stature.

He is probably right and he is lying through his teeth about the whole thing. It amazes me how often dems go on tv/podcast and showcast their slimmy stupidity. Hard to believe this man was in charge of anything. Another DEI employee on parade. Don't tell me the Deep State is my imagination.

They should use this investigation to start looking into his financial background. I'm sure there's something there. He will get bolder and will slip up somewhere, somehow. They all do.

Whistling past the graveyard. Telling Nicole Wallace (and any other lib who will listen) that those who saw what his "clever, artistic" shells meant what most would see as *8647" were "crazy" is no defense, Jimbo... If you didn't mean that, then why those particular numbers? (crickets)

Utter hypocrisy. Comey's new novel is based on the premise that a rightwing radio commentator can target persons for assassination by criticizing them but he takes refuge in the ambiguity of his "seashell formation." In "Comey World" his speech is free but our speech is suspect.

Ruin him financially like he has done. Block the release of his book “pending investigation”. Drag it out for 8-12 years, if possible. Make his life not worth living.

A snake like Comey obviously has plenty of contacts inside various federal law enforcement agencies. My fervent hope is that AG Bondi has internally disseminated disinformation downward that Comey will not be charged, and that this disinformation has been relayed to Comey by his trusted contacts. This will make it much easier to handcuff and perp walk Comey in a very public setting (e.g. at a heavily-traveled airport, as was done to Peter Navarro) at some future date... AG Bondi just needs to make sure that Fox, Newsmax, OANN, etc. etc. are on hand to record the arrest... and that CNN et al are nowhere near the area.
