Legislators investigate 65 cent per gallon
gas 'tax' hike set to impact CA, AZ, NV

California Republicans are launching an investigation into the Low Carbon Fuel Standard update that is expected to increase the cost of gasoline by 65 cents per gallon — impacting not just California, but the parts of Nevada and Arizona that rely on the Golden State for fuel — on July 1. “CARB and the Governor pushed an expensive gas price hike behind closed doors, ignored public input, and misled Californians about the real cost,” said Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones. CARB says its updated LCFS standards will increase fuel prices by $162 billion through 2046, with $105 billion going to credits for electric vehicle charging network owners

Comments:

California has a diseased system of politics that advances corruption and promotes economic theft from working families.

They implemented something similar here in Washington and no matter how much the Democrats insulted, screamed, denigrated etc. people who warned up increased gas prices, claiming they were lying, our gas prices went up roughly 50 cents a gallon on average.

If Democrats raise the price of gas, they hope Trump will be blamed for it, hoping to affect the next election. Well, Trump has the bully pulpit and will let them know that Democrats are responsible for everything bad they endure.

Does anyone know who will benefit from the higher gas prices? Certainly not the taxpayers. I'm guessing the benefits will fall into the pockets of only a handful of Democrat politicians. That's the way things seem to go in Taxifornia. Gov. Brylcreem will deflect it, because he is trying to clean up his act to run for president. Yikes!

California is in deep debt so in their little minds anything is justified to get money into their coffers. People have been demanding to know why gas is going up instead of down. Answer these questions with "democrat" and you would be correct. Newsom as president would be the ultimate disaster.

It would help immensely if the republicans would quit telling us how much cheaper things have gotten since Trump took office. They havent got cheaper, they've got a lot more expensive. Our money is losing value before our eyes yet politicians continue to repeat the lie. My grocery bill says otherwise.

GasBuddy's "Gas Price Map" shows Calif prices running around $4.75 a gallon while here, in the Piney Woods of East Texas, prices run around $2.75. Oregon runs around $4 a gallon. Seattle area near $4.50 There must be streets paved with gold and wonderfully smooth traffic flow with all of those "Highway Fund Taxes" collected on the West Coast.

This is supposedly the 4th largest economy in the world based on GDP. They pay their public workers VERY well, with generous benefits and pensions that make social security look like walking around money. I know some who make more in retirement (take home) than they did working for the State. The number of over $100,000 per year pensions is rising the most. They barely have money to pay the public employees so there is very little left for actual programs. And they just passed a gas tax increase a couple years back that they said would help fix the dilapidated roads but they don't seem to have allocated any to actually fix them. Likely absorbed into the general fund and spent on other things just waiting for the people to be fooled again.

The act, originally passed by Congress in 1863 to address fraud by defense contractors during the Civil War, will now be used to work to ensure universities and others do not allow civil rights abuses, such as favoring one race over another. The act allows private citizens to file complaints on behalf of the government, called “qui tam” lawsuits, against those who have allegedly defrauded the government,

The U.S. Senate will vote within days on overturning California’s stringent and influential regulations mandating 100% electric vehicle sales by 2035, Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Tuesday. The move has massive implications for the U.S. auto industry and represents a dramatic break from past procedure by Senate Republicans. “While the Biden EPA EV mandate was bad,” Thune, a South Dakota Republican, said in a floor speech, “California is much worse." The Senate measure, which only needs a simple majority to pass, would nix a waiver granted late in the Biden administration for California to set nation-leading emissions standards

But during the current spring semester, Pugh said she had to cut 11 students. Left-wing media very much wants President Donald Trump to have dementia. At first, they began peddling this narrative to distract from former President Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline. Indeed, far from showing any interest in ending Russia's military offensive in Ukraine, the Russian leader has given every intention that he intends to continue fighting until victory has been achieved. Nor does there appear to be any serious prospect that Trump will be willing to hit the Kremlin with further sanctions, let alone military encouragement, if it fails to show any serious interest in peace negotiations.

After more than a decade of litigation, he has been ordered to pay over $1 million in attorney's fees to the very people he accused of defamation:

Coupled with the glacial pace of U.S. talks with Iran on its nuclear program, and the state of readiness of Israeli strike forces, some analysts have concluded that Israel is prepared to strike Iranian nuclear facilities in a matter of days. The impasse in nuclear talks with Iran is "irreconcilable," according to the Israelis.
