LA business owner blasts children’s
song on a loop to deter homeless encampments

A California building owner confronted the homeless encampments in downtown Los Angeles with an unusual musical deterrent. While other businesses have taken to blasting loud music in front of their stores to prevent the homeless population from taking up space, one building owner turned to a repeat dose of playing Pinkfong’s “Baby Shark” through loudspeakers. [Tweet, video] Tracy, a woman who lives in the encampment next door to the building, was not amused. “They played ‘Baby Shark’ all night long,” Tracy, a woman who lives in an encampment next door to the building at the corner of West 11th and Main streets, told NBC4 Los Angeles.

Comments:

If Baby Shark doesn't work, I suggest a looped recording of babies crying, the Barnie Song, Muskrat Love and the Queen of the Night aria from The Magic Flute!!!

Re #3, many years ago we were taking the Disney ride "It's a Small World". Suddenly our 'car' stopped moving, in a darkened room with brightly colored animatronic figures bouncing around and "singing" this loud recorded song again and again. Normally, the car would have moved thru the room in 15 seconds or so. We were stuck there listening to the maddening, loud song for ten or fifteen minutes until workmen came thru and shut it down, then got us to walk out of the ride. We later heard that 'a kid dropped his hat on the track, jammed the system'. That song endlessly will drive anyone nuts!

A Democratic Tennessee state representative garnered sharp criticism on Tuesday after uploading a video of herself attempting to interfere with a recent US Immigration and Customs (ICE) operation near Nashville. In the video, Rep. Aftyn Behn (D-Nashville) can be observed following federal and state law enforcement officers in a vehicle, where Behn stated she had been "bullying" ICE agents and Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) officers in an effort to thwart a May 9 immigration enforcement operation in Madison, Tennessee. This came while ICE had been conducting a weeklong targeted immigration enforcement operation to take in significant public safety threats, which resulted in 196 apprehensions. A federal judge said that the Trump administration violated a court order after it deported several migrants to South Sudan despite the fact that they came from other countries. US District Judge Brian E. Murphy on Tuesday ordered the White House to keep the deportees in US custody after the plane landed in Sudan in preparation for Wednesday’s emergency hearing. During the proceedings, the judge argued that the administration violated an injunction he put in place in April. From The Associated Press: In an emergency hearing he called to address reports that immigrants had been sent to South Sudan,

Between the Biden administration’s years-long cover-up of the president’s cognitive decline and likely concealment of his advanced prostate cancer, the Democratic Party has a bit of a PR problem right now, and it may get even worse. While Biden’s inner circle apparently saw no issue with a mentally diminished, terminally ill man controlling nuclear codes, the Clintons are back in the spotlight thanks to explosive revelations from Buzz Patterson, a former senior military aide in the Clinton White House who carried the nuclear football for Bill Clinton. In a post on X, Patterson revealed another major Clinton scandal, this time involving sexual assault allegations aboard Air Force One.

In March, President Donald Trump announced a full halt to U.S. foreign aid to South Africa, citing the government’s racially charged abuse of white Afrikaner farmers. He blasted the regime for orchestrated land seizures and escalating violence, calling the country “a bad place to be right now.” At the same time, he offered a fast track to U.S. citizenship for South African farmers and their families seeking safety from persecution. The black-led South African government has flatly denied any campaign of anti-white violence, brushing off the attacks as fiction and painting any criticism as offensive. But the facts on the ground — brutal murders, farm invasions,

Several years ago, I was getting ready to travel to Austin, Texas, for a conference. Just out of curiosity, I looked into getting there by train. Amtrak was the only option, of course. My trip to Austin would take 36 hours, and the route was something like Atlanta to Washington to Chicago to Austin. It would also cost twice as much as flying. Needless to say, Amtrak was totally out as an option. Despite its impracticality and expense, the left loves to romanticize train travel. I think much of it because left-wing media types all live in the Acela corridor, where passenger rail infrastructure is plentiful.

The defense team for an illegal alien accused of killing 27-year-old Washington State Trooper Christopher Gadd last year failed to get the case thrown out. The defense claimed prosecutors had colluded with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in violation of Washington’s sanctuary state law. In March 2024, 34-year-old illegal alien Raul Benitez Santana of Mexico, who had had several run-ins with the law, was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide in connection with Gadd’s death. Prosecutors claim that Santana, while driving high and drunk, crashed into Gadd, who was on the shoulder of an interstate in Snohomish County, killing him. Gadd left behind his wife Cammryn and their young daughter.
