Gov. Tim Walz, the Minnesota National Guard, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt have reportedly all been briefed on preparations for potential riots if former police officer Derek Chauvin is granted a presidential pardon. Chauvin, of course, was the officer filmed kneeling on drug addict George Floyd during his fatal interaction with police. His death caused nationwide deadly Black Lives Matter riots throughout the summer of 2020.

Chauvin, of course, was the officer filmed kneeling on drug addict George Floyd during his fatal interaction with police. His death caused nationwide deadly Black Lives Matter riots throughout the summer of 2020.
In his press conference about the 90-day trade deal he reached with the Chinese, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant, in less than a minute, threw in a small detail about Joe Biden’s presidency that speaks volumes. First, it reveals how utterly feckless Joe Biden was and, second, it reveals how America benefits from a manifestly strong president. (Snip) In other words, China’s escalating trade depredations against the United States in the past four years, years that were terribly damaging to American manufacturers and workers, came about because the Chinese knew that, with Joe Biden in the White House, they could get away with trade murder.
Jasmine Crockett, the Texas congresswoman who reliably and routinely beclowns herself every single time she opens her mouth, is now going after her own party because as she asserts, they’re considering running the “safest white boy” in 2028 as their next presidential candidate.
What would she prefer? The opposite? A problematic black woman? News flash Crockett, y’all just did that, and it was the biggest beating you Democrats have had at the ballot box in more than forty years—since Ronald Reagan, and that was lifetimes ago!
She doesn’t like “safe” and “white,” so is “dangerous” and “black” better? Sounds like her ideal candidate would be George Floyd, or O.J. Simpson.

If you don’t know this is happening, that’s fine. You’re not missing much, and it’s a sign that this little tour Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is going on is not resonating. Sanders has been crisscrossing the country, holding rallies to fight the oligarchy. It’s his favorite pastime. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, Sanders has been warning about the oligarchy.
Most Americans don’t know or care about that word; even Democrats have criticized the tour as too esoteric and insular. If it’s only getting the Democratic Party base excited, that’s a problem. Their base isn’t broad or likable enough to win elections anymore.
Earlier this week, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided at least nine restaurants in the nation's capital, requesting proof that the establishments are not flouting the law by employing illegal aliens. Washington, D.C., presents itself as a so-called sanctuary city for illegal aliens, so the mere fact ICE agents targeted a few businesses there is hardly surprising.
What is perhaps more newsworthy is the specific names associated with those raided restaurants. One of those restaurants, Chef Geoff's, is owned by Geoff Tracy, the husband of CBS News anchor and former vice presidential debate co-moderator Norah O'Donnell.

The Episcopal Church’s migration service said it will refuse the Trump administration's request to help resettle dozens of White South Africans granted refugee status by the federal government. In a statement, Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe said the Episcopal Migration Ministries will instead terminate its partnership with the government. The announcement came shortly before 59 South Africans arrived in the United States.
"In light of our church’s steadfast commitment to racial justice and reconciliation and our historic ties with the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, we are not able to take this step," Rowe said of the government's request that the church help resettle the South African citizens.
Democrat Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA) is slated to introduce a reparations resolution this week, as she believes it is a “moral and legal obligation” for Americans.
The resolution itself involves the U.S. spending “trillions” on reparations for black Americans. The resolution points to Jim Crow laws as part of the justification for the use of U.S. tax dollars going toward this effort.
“This is a moment in time where societies are shaped [and] new societies are built. We should be the ones who are shaping it,” Lee said, enraged that President Donald Trump ended many diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) measures with the “stroke of a pen.”

Walmart said Thursday it plans to raise prices on some goods beginning later this month, in response to President Trump’s tariffs.
“We will do our best to keep our prices as low as possible but given the magnitude of the tariffs, even at the reduced levels announced this week, we aren’t able to absorb all the pressure given the reality of narrow retail margins,” Walmart CEO Doug McMillon is expected to say during a Thursday earnings call, according to prepared remarks obtained by several media outlets.

California Governor Gavin Newsom said Wednesday he wants the state to stop enrolling more low-income illegal immigrants in a state-funded health care program, beginning next year.
Under Newsom’s plan, the state would not end coverage for illegal immigrants who are already enrolled in Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program. However, the state would begin charging adults with “unsatisfactory immigrant status” a monthly premium of $100 beginning in 2027.
Newsom’s announcement comes after the governor previously said in March he was not considering rolling back health benefits for low-income illegal immigrants, even as the state contended with a $6.2 billion Medicaid shortfall.
Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) said Wednesday on CNN’s “News Central” that he is advancing legislation that would force the Trump administration to produce a human rights report on El Salvador that would result in “serious consequences” if violations were found.
Kaine said, “We just want the administration to follow the law and so there is a privileged motion, which means even a single senator can file it and you’ll be guaranteed a vote that will require the administration within 30 days to produce a human rights report on El Salvador, including the conditions of the prison to which American residents are being sent
