Remember Episcopal Bishop Marian Edgar Budde? On January 21, as presiding bishop for the National Cathedral's "Service of Prayer for the Nation," Budde decided to use a supposedly ecumenical and unifying prayer event to browbeat President Donald Trump and make her case for illegal immigrants and the LGBTQ-all-the-letters tribe. (Snip) We have not heard from Bishop Budde of late, but her denomination has let it be known that their vestments are in a wad. Why, you might ask? Because Trump has declared that white South African farmers, who are being murdered, persecuted, and having their lands confiscated, can now be resettled into the United States as refugees.

Sooooooo...... the Episcopal Church hates white people? They are withdrawing from the program because re-settleing 50 white people was a bridge too far.
The Episcopal Church is Catholic Zero for people with no religious convictions. The whole religion came about so that a fat king could divorce or kill off his wives.

White South Africans are being continually murdered so as to steal the farm lands that they have worked and have been in their families for many generations. The other tragedy is that when the South African Government steals the land, they don't know how to work it, and the general population faces increasing food shortages as a result. I feel tremendous sympathy for these refugees. If we don't take them in immediately, they will be killed. And shame on the Episcopal Church. Shame, Shame, Shame.

These Episcopal "ministers" should be forced to take a pilgrimage to present-day South Africa and look at how historical apartheid has been reversed, with whites now living in shocking poverty in shanty towns and blacks living in relative comfort. Episcopalians who follow these two "leaders" should be disgusted and ashamed. Were I one of them, I'd be seeking salvation from another religious order...

From the article:
"Because of this move by the Trump administration to welcome 49 white South African families to America as refugees, the Episcopal Church has chosen to shutter its 40-year-long Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM). It seems that white South Africans do not fit the definition of those needing help fleeing "persecution in their own lands, to find compassion and welcome here."

Am I supposed to care that they shut this program down? The Episcopal Church here has been sort of a go-to church for people who weren't comfortable with traditional churches who at least, used the Bible commandments and other do-nots contained in it. Fine, if you like a church that is more a Sunday gathering than a religious experience. Not for me plus the church leans so far to the left now that it doesn't entice me to even attend or even less consider joining.

The obvious bigotry aside here, the article notes that the EMM admits it received $50 million to relocate 6533 refugees in 2024. That's about $7,650 per refugee, and a business-minded person might look at that and think, "Hmm... seems like of overhead on a per-person basis." So let's hope that EMM goes away permanently and isn't restarted the next time the party controlling the executive branch changes.

For the church I grew up in, this is disgusting and is not what Christ and the Apostles taught us. Having spent a good deal of time researching the South African political climate in the ‘70s, this is the outcome we all saw coming. Thanks to President Trump for his action. This genocide will not end with the Afrikaners.

#16.18, bless you. After 9/11 I did a deep study (albeit with secondary sources) of Islam and was gobsmacked at how it constantly intersected with Western civilization and always in a hideous way. The Crusades, The Inquisition, Vlad the Impaler, the so-called Dark Ages were all results of vicious Muslim aggression. Winston Marshall recently interviewed Raymond Ibrahim, an American Christian of Egyptian heritage who studied Medieval history and Islam at CSUF under the tutelage of Victor Hanson and earned a PhD at Georgetown. If you have YouTube it’s worth an hour of time. Even Columbus’ voyage was taken to avoid Muslims on any eastern route to the Orient for spices.

This is not really about refugees, South Africans or whites. It goes to the root of the culture of victimhood. The basic position that in today's society racism can be committed only by whites. Conversely, nothing blacks do (think the Rev. Al Sharpton and Tamara Brawley) can be called racist. A lot rides on society accepting this as gospel. That is why the fierce reaction.

The Episcopal Church is a woke gathering of liberal freaks posing as a religion. Their taxpayer funded gravy train got cut off so it became convenient to blame Trump’s policies for quitting the illegal immigrant shelter program. They are wasting their breath with this phony statement. Ask the Democrats how siding with the 20% is working out for them.

One more comment, it is not these immigrants are "white," it is that they are the wrong kind of "white." I can guarantee you the Episcopal Church would gladly welcome in Ukranian refugees because they fit the narrative. However, they would deny Russian refugees who are caught in the crossfire because they don't fit the narrative. It is not about serving those with need, it is about politics and who is greasing their greedy little palms. CINO - Christian in Name Only.

#25, yes, Columbus was seeking a way to come behind the muslims during the crusades to show Christians a way to attack their rear. The first war the new US fought was against islam in northern Africa and the reason Jefferson started our Navy and Marines. Islam had invaded Spain successfully and was going to invade France too until they ran into Charles 'the hammer' Martel at the battle of Tours. They also tried to invade Europe thru the siege of Vienna and finally lost. Those battles were the cut off for the 7th Beast in the Bible and the newly formed 8th beast has now come to existence. watch Turkey. Erdogan is the sob that is in charge of islam now and will gather Iran and others to invade Israel in the near future (Gog Magog war that coming) and will bring His Return. Come quicky, Jesus. The world belongs to satans religion until then.

The Episcopal denomination has been on the wrong side of everything for decades, which is one reason its denom is pitifully losing adherents. I had to leave the Episc. Church more than a decade ago because of their DEI policies, although they didn't call it that. They called it "Diversity is our strength", which as we all know is absolutely not true.

Refugees who come here who have a non-criminal skill set and who will ultimately be productive and an asset to the country and the communities in which they settle and who will NOT cost the taxpayers BILLIONS in free stuff are unwelcome. Thank you, hypocrites, for making that quite clear. Don't forget that the LORD sees and will judge your hypocrisy in due time. Count on it!

If the topic of conversation was fifty gay South Africans, the argument would be much different from the Episcopalians.
Take heart, there will be retribution. South Africa, especially Capetown, is running short of water due to inefficiency, drying lakes and overpopulation and when the food shortages increase, the blacks will have neither food nor water. The suffering of others should not bring joy but in this case...
