Donald Trump signs executive order allowing
illegal immigrants to book 'free flights
out of US'

Donald Trump has signed a new executive order launching what he called the “first ever self-deportation programme,” allowing undocumented immigrants to leave the United States at no cost, with flights booked via a new government-backed app. In a video posted on Truth Social, the president said: “Today I signed an executive order to launch the first ever self-deportation program for illegal aliens. We are making it as easy as possible for illegal aliens to leave America. Any illegal alien can simply show up at an airport and receive a free flight out of our country.”

Comments:

But you can't book a flight without a passport, and that can take weeks. Are they deprioritized for deportation while they go through that? Else how can this work?

At the rate ICE was deporting illegals it is estimated to take four years to deport one million illegals. So, Trump is coming up with incentives, like the $1,000 to self deport and now this. Trump is innovative.

This assumes that illegals will be motivated by the same goals as ours and that they will grab at the proverbial carrot because it offers free flights? I don't think so. They're here because they want to be HERE and nowhere else. They consider their current status as "halfway in America" and are counting on the left to complete the deal. Why would they give that up for a free flight? There is no other country in the world where people can just show up on any border and basically say, "I'm here! Now please set up Press 2 for English" for me, let my kids go to school here and take care of me until I can find a meaningful job." I wish Americans would try it en masse and film the encounters. Good luck.

Waiting for some judge to say Trump can't do this because it is coercion. Better yet, the judge will say ILLEGALS are not Real ID compliant so they can't fly.

Sounds good until you think about it. What's to stop them from saving up for a return ticket, taking the deal, then having a nice visit back home before returning? And what about airline's risk in having this among regular paying passengers?

I would like to see the results of these "give-aways", such as free flights and pay to leave programs in a few months. What the Democrats, the Biden administration have done to us is sorta/kinda like an torn feather pillow that has been shaken out in a pillow fight. Feathers go every where in a blink of an eye and it takes a long time to clean up the mess . . . even to the point of never getting every feather picked up. So it goes with the illegals, they're everywhere and some are pretty good at hiding.

I think WE will all agree that President Trump has a purpose with this offer...now...what it is...I don't know...is he incentivizing the illegal aliens to move on their self deportation before ICE finds them...perhaps...but...I think WE'll all agree that President Trump doesn't do anything without a purpose....so stand back and watch and perhaps learn a few things....I'm having a terrific week...it's been about winning all week long....and the lefties are nowhere.....

I'm with #11. Fasr forward to 2030. Democrat President (fill in the blank) leaves this particular EO in place while reopening the border. Illegals are free to come in at their leisure, return home for the holidays at Uncle Sam's expense, and come back for the new year.

Like everything else, some will take the bait and some won’t especially criminal aliens. To get rid of illegal aliens, the US Government has to locate, arrest, get a order of deportation from a immigration judge, and then deport individual illegal aliens at US taxpayer’s expense that includes paying the air fare involved. So if illegal aliens decide to leave voluntarily without being run through the above stated procedures while sitting around in detention, they will simply sign up for this new ICE program that pays for their air fare when they leave voluntarily. Of course in order for airline passengers to travel internationally they will need some form of valid travel document, usually a passport, that will have to be issued to them by their country of citizenship, will that happen, who knows?

This is a great offer that shows President Trump is compassionate. When the Army ends its forever wars and is put to work there will be a deluge of deportations. As soon as the Welfare Benefits dry up the illegal aliens will want to leave. Posobiec also had a great idea which is to tariff 10% of all remittances as we do on imported goods.

The Catholic Church has vowed to excommunicate any priest who follows a new Washington state law requiring clergy to report information about child abuse to law enforcement — even if given in the privacy of the confession booth. Priests in the Evergreen State had enjoyed something similar to attorney-client privilege when hearing confessions, but the new law — which Democratic Gov. More information now on how a potential ceasefire deal would look. Revealing some potential details of the agreement, a Palestinian official told the BBC that "the detailed technical discussions took considerable time". Both sides agreed that Hamas would release three hostages on the first day of the agreement, after which Israel would begin withdrawing troops from populated areas. Seven days later, Hamas would release four additional hostages, and Israel would allow displaced people in the south to return to the north, but only on foot via the coastal road.

Hamas is expected to release 33 hostages during the first phase of an emerging ceasefire agreement being finalized by negotiators in Doha, two Israeli officials said, the first positive sign in months that a truce in the Israel-Hamas war may be in sight. Officials have expressed cautious optimism that a deal could soon be announced to halt 15 months of fighting that has destabilized the Middle East and devastated Gaza, allow for more aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave, and ensure the return of dozens of hostages held by Hamas since its attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

(Reuters) - A U.S. government weather forecaster expects an about 60% chance of the La Nina weather pattern characterized by unusually cold temperatures in the Pacific Ocean emerging in the second half of 2024. There is an 85% chance that a transition from El Niño to ENSO-neutral is likely to occur by April-June, National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center (CPC) said in a monthly forecast on Thursday. "The end of El Nino would take away the vertical wind shear that tends to reduce the number of storms in the Atlantic basin. Further, warm ocean temperatures should facilitate the formation of stronger storms," Citi Research said in a note.

The Catholic Church has issued a warning to its clergy in Washington state: Any priest who complies with a new law requiring the reporting of child abuse confessions to authorities will be excommunicated. The new law, which will take effect on July 27, eliminates the long-standing confidentiality of the confessional, forcing Catholic leaders and lawmakers into a highly charged standoff over religious liberty and child protection.
