Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided a Washington, DC restaurant owned by CBS News star Norah O’Donnell’s husband as part of a crackdown on illegal migrants.
Chef Geoff’s, a small chain owned by O’Donnell’s spouse Geoff Tracy, was among the handful of eateries targeted by the feds on Tuesday, FOX5 reported.
Nearly a dozen ICE and law enforcement agents went to one of the locations at about 10:30 a.m. and spent roughly 90 minutes asking to see workers’ I-9 forms — the employment verification record used to ensure employees are legally allowed to work in the US.
No one was taken into custody at the location.

First, please stop calling them ''migrants''.
Human beings are not migratory. They will not be going back South for the Winter. They are illegal aliens or economic refugees. They have immigrated illegally to escape the poverty of their poorly governed, corrupt, hellhole countries to live in a modern first world country. It is understandable for them to do this, especially since the previous administration practically invited them, refused to enforce existing laws, and even coached them on how to game the bureaucratic system by lying about seeking asylum and even bring children in an attempt to avoid being immediately returned.

Makes you wonder just how many more of the MSM are aiding the illegals thru means other than their skewed reporting and support thru print and TV. Mr. Tracy should be fined or jailed for aiding and abetting, because I don't believe for one nano second he didn't know they were illegal, and no doubt Nora the witch also knew.

We have a legal process for people immigrating to the United States. When you don't want to follow those laws or processes, more than likely you are pursuing an illegal process. That applies to the person skipping out on the legal process and the people who cooperate with those evading the law. There is very little sympathy on my behalf for people or entities who want to skirt the system. There are a lot of American people who want to work but get squeezed out. Yes, that is right I never bought into Dick Cheney and George W Bush's attitude that Americans won't do that work as a justification for illegals coming into the country.

Piggybacking on #3's thoughts. It's not there's work Americans won't do. As long as its legal, all work is meaningful. It's that there are millions of employers who aren't willing to pay appropriate wages to get Americans to do the work.
On a related note, employers always lobby for more H1-B workers, saying there aren't enough qualified American workers. I know for a fact that isn't true. If there is one unemployed American worker displaced by an H1-B worker, that H1-B worker should not be here. And yet, there are millions of American workers displaced by H1-B workers and employers are still claiming there aren't enough Americans to fill the jobs.
It's not there aren't enough Americans to fill the jobs, there aren't enough employers willing to pay their workers American wages. And despite their claims that H1-B wages are equivalent to American wages, they are at least 3 years behind, and many times the companies make no effort to even appear to pay H1-B's equivalent wages.
Unfortunately, it seems too many businesses have American Presidents ears (not just DJT 2.0) and not enough workers have their ears for anything to be done about this travesty.

Might be interesting to hear how many didn't show up for work after the business was told ICE would be there is a few days? Of course when they actually "Raid" the place there were no arrests because they are already gone.

I listened to some yo-yo on a podcast today talking about how these illegal immigrants "do the work that Americans won't do." Forget where I heard it, but there is NO area of work where illegal immigrants are the majority of workers in those professions. Yes, it might be higher in farm workers, meat packing plants, landscaping, some construction tasks, and various "menial" jobs," but in no case is it a majority.
American workers and those immigrants with legal work status should be the people doing those jobs. And it shouldn't be a case of "we can't afford to hire" legal/citizen workers. There's a much higher cost -- in money, resources, and sometimes life -- in having illegal immigrants in our country. I'm finished paying for it.

I'm guessing ICE is just ending a message to business owners, since they did not take anyone into custody.

These were not raids as the headline so deceptively claims. All restaurants, including Chrf Geoffs, were given advance notice in writing or by telephone. Every employer in the US is required to maintain the I-9 forms for each employee and have it available for inspection if requested. If this had bin an actual raid, the ICE agents would show up unannounced mid lunch in full tactical gear and surrounded all entrances to the restaurant. They would not cordially stroll in through the front door for an announced administrative visit. The media is trying to sensationalize a normal occurrence.

Nora should be glad that her name is not Catherine Englebrecht (as in True the Vote). Otherwise her husband could also expect visits from the IRS, OSHA, FBI, and the health inspector.

Well....isn't this interesting...so the O'Donnell hag is married to a restaurant owner...who I'm sure has a brisk trade in Norah's clientel....what is with that woman....is she bought and paid for by the Washington elites...or does she really hate WE Americans that much....she twists and turns everything to come out swampy....how long has she been covering Washington DC...maybe to long....she needs a new assignment...maybe Iran....
