Democratic strategist James Carville said during a Thursday podcast that he was in San Francisco instructing numerous party donors that “stunts” are not an effective way to combat President Donald Trump. On “Lunch with Jamie,” Carville pointed to Democrats’ behavior during Trump’s March 4 congressional address, where Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green interrupted the speech and numerous lawmakers held up signs. Carville suggested the party’s approach lacked dignity and was not suited for the moment.

US President Donald Trump has threatened a 200% tariff on any alcohol coming to the US from the European Union (EU) in the latest twist of an escalating trade war. The threat is a response to the EU's plans for a 50% tax on imports of US-produced whiskey as part of its retaliation to Trump's tariffs on all steel and aluminium imports to the US. The US president called for the immediate removal of the EU's "nasty" tariff on US whiskey, calling the bloc "hostile and abusive" and "formed for the sole purpose of taking advantage of the United States".

Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign became obsessed with the height of her chair during media hits and other appearances, according to an excerpt of “FIGHT: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House” by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes. Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, sat down for their first interview of their campaign in late August, more than a month in, taking questions from CNN’s Dana Bash. Observing that the former vice president looked smaller than Walz, campaign officials worried that would reinforce the ongoing criticism that she was “incapable, or afraid of answering tough questions on her own,” ...

It's not widely known, but over HALF of Columba University's enrollment is now foreign students. Some of them are people like Mahmoud Khalil, who spent all his time agitating in support of Hamas terrorists. But if you dig deeper, the true story is even more appalling: Columbia is using the prestige of its elite undergraduate school to bring in thousands of mediocre foreigners who want a Columbia degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar field. Columbia admits them because they pay full-freight tuition, boosting their bottom line while glutting the American job market and lowering wages for STEM workers.

A new four-lane highway cutting through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest is being built for the COP30 climate summit in the Brazilian city of Belém. It aims to ease traffic to the city, which will host more than 50,000 people - including world leaders - at the conference in November. The state government touts the highway's "sustainable" credentials, but some locals and conservationists are outraged at the environmental impact. The Amazon plays a vital role in absorbing carbon for the world and providing biodiversity, and many say this deforestation contradicts the very purpose of a climate summit.

Staff at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) have been told to shred and burn classified documents and personnel files. The request raised alarm among employees and labour groups amid the ongoing dismantling of the agency. Acting Executive Secretary Erica Y Carr sent an email that thanked staff for clearing out classified safes and personnel documents from a Washington DC office and told them to meet in the building's lobby for an all-day disposal event on Tuesday.

NUUK, Greenland, March 11 (Reuters) - Greenland residents voted on Tuesday in an election brought into the international spotlight by U.S. President Donald Trump's pledge to take control of the mineral-rich island, firing up a debate over its independence. Since taking office in January, Trump has vowed to make Greenland - a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark - part of the United States, saying it is vital to U.S. security interests. WASHINGTON (AP) — Starlette Thomas remembers coming down almost daily to the intersection of 16th and H streets, to protest police brutality and systemic racial iniquities during the summer of 2020. On Monday, the 45-year old Bowie, Maryland resident returned to the site of those protests to mourn the end of Black Lives Matter Plaza. “I needed to be here today. I can’t just let this go away,” Thomas said, as jackhammers began tearing into the giant yellow letters in the street. Thomas discretely secured a chunk of pavement and said holding it made her feel conflicted.

A protester punched by a Chicago police officer at a heated 2020 demonstration is now in line to get a $280,000 settlement from the city. Last week Trump intimated that in both assassination attempts on his life, more than one person was involved. He also revealed that there may be indications of Ukraine involvement. More information will hopefully be revealed in the next few weeks. By now, most people are aware of how badly the Butler, PA incident was handled. The Gunman, Thomas Crooks, 20, killed rally attendee Corey Comperatore and critically wounded two others, David Dutch and James Copenhaver, while attempting to shoot Trump, who was grazed in the ear by a bullet. A Secret Service sniper then killed Crooks.
