A protester punched by a Chicago police officer at a heated 2020 demonstration is now in line to get a $280,000 settlement from the city. Activist Miracle Boyd lost a front tooth at a protest near Grant Park’s Christopher Columbus statue when former Officer Nicholas Jovanovich struck her phone, causing it to hit her face, according to a Civilian Office of Police Accountability report. Finance Committee aldermen advanced the settlement Monday, setting it up for a final vote Wednesday.

Staff at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) have been told to shred and burn classified documents and personnel files. The request raised alarm among employees and labour groups amid the ongoing dismantling of the agency. Acting Executive Secretary Erica Y Carr sent an email that thanked staff for clearing out classified safes and personnel documents from a Washington DC office and told them to meet in the building's lobby for an all-day disposal event on Tuesday.

NUUK, Greenland, March 11 (Reuters) - Greenland residents voted on Tuesday in an election brought into the international spotlight by U.S. President Donald Trump's pledge to take control of the mineral-rich island, firing up a debate over its independence. Since taking office in January, Trump has vowed to make Greenland - a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark - part of the United States, saying it is vital to U.S. security interests. The vast island, with a population of just 57,000...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Starlette Thomas remembers coming down almost daily to the intersection of 16th and H streets, to protest police brutality and systemic racial iniquities during the summer of 2020. On Monday, the 45-year old Bowie, Maryland resident returned to the site of those protests to mourn the end of Black Lives Matter Plaza. “I needed to be here today. I can’t just let this go away,” Thomas said, as jackhammers began tearing into the giant yellow letters in the street. Thomas discretely secured a chunk of pavement and said holding it made her feel conflicted.

Last week Trump intimated that in both assassination attempts on his life, more than one person was involved. He also revealed that there may be indications of Ukraine involvement. More information will hopefully be revealed in the next few weeks. By now, most people are aware of how badly the Butler, PA incident was handled. The Gunman, Thomas Crooks, 20, killed rally attendee Corey Comperatore and critically wounded two others, David Dutch and James Copenhaver, while attempting to shoot Trump, who was grazed in the ear by a bullet. A Secret Service sniper then killed Crooks.

The boiling ocean scare has been a reliable standby for every alarmist promoting the Net Zero insanity for almost two years now. But expect the scare to be parked for awhile along with coral reefs, polar bears and Arctic sea ice. It is a very good bet that nobody in mainstream media is going to report the oceans are cooling at what are remarkably dramatic rates. Few fear mongering points will be on offer for drawing attention to this inconvenient news.

OMAHA, Neb. — Looking forward to more evening sunlight thanks to daylight saving time this weekend? Many in the golf industry like the time change, too, and they are pushing to make that annual switch permanent. The move is intended to encourage more evening golf and to stave off efforts to establish permanent standard time, which would leave less time for an evening on the links. And it is those late afternoon players who tend to buy food and drinks in the clubhouse. “We would lose 100 tee times a day if daylight saving time goes away,” ...

Democratic strategist James Carville said Friday that the Democratic Party lost on immigration in the 2024 election because President Joe Biden took advice from the “idiotic far-left.” Border officials encountered a record-high of over 2 million illegal immigrants throughout Biden’s term in office, prompting concerns about immigration and drawing attention toward heinous crimes committed by illegal migrants. During an interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Carville said the far-left influenced the last administration to keep the border unsecured and caused the massive immigration crisis witnessed by Americans throughout the past four years.

Wall Street is puking big time, and the sell buttons are working overtime whenever the word “tariff” passes from Donald Trump’s lips. If you listen to the fat cat community long enough, you’d think Trump has been in office four years rather than four weeks, and that a small trade surcharge on a car from Mexico is leading us into economic Armageddon. I’m no fan of tariffs for lots of reasons, including I hate paying too much for stuff, but I’ve also taken enough econ and studied markets long enough to know that they’re not the end of the world as we know it.

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg claimed Tuesday that President Donald Trump ruined former President Joe Biden’s economy without once mentioning high prices or the record high deficit. Goldberg argued that Trump inherited a “very robust” economy, crediting the Biden administration for adding nearly 16 million jobs to the U.S. economy, though she failed to mention this was largely a result of the U.S. recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The co-host also did not mention that inflation rose to a peak of 9% during the Biden administration and that the deficit reached record-breaking levels largely due to the previous White House’s high spending.
