Several House Democrats have privately called on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) to launch a primary challenge against Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer after he backed a Republican-led funding bill to avert a government shutdown.
Even centrist Democrats are outraged by Schumer’s decision, with some "so mad" that they are "ready to write checks for AOC for Senate," according to a Democratic lawmaker who spoke with Ocasio-Cortez at House Democrats’ annual policy retreat Thursday evening, CNN reported.

#1: Perhaps, but I'm pulling for AOC all the way. If NY is cursed to having only D-rat Senators, I'd rather have them be vacuous morons like AOC than "Dr. Evil" like characters like Upchuck al-Schumer...

I might even toss a sawbuck into the tip stealing barmaid's campaign if she'd take on Chuckie.

what a bunch of bull. They all know exactly why he had to do it this way, but it is hard for them to admit that they had no leverage. So they are just going for flattering their own base that this was unnecessary submission, which is untrue, and then using it as a lever to get rid of a powerful Jew. Sorry that is how I see it. but I would add, they do not yet know what their own base is really going to look like, once ActBlue is down and there is no more cheating. They might do well to try out being honest and sincere since these MIGHT be advantages next time though not so last time.

The point being to keep their base outraged until the midterms. Their radical, angry base will vote to throw out their opposition. The party in power during midterms often sit out the midterms because they are "happy" and preoccupied with other matters; thus the current winners lose seats.

In other news, Joy Reid is threatening to burn down MSNBC for firing her!
Events like these just remind me and affirm my decision that it was a great idea to leave the Democrat party.

This is fake news because the article says the even the centrist democrats are upset. There is no such thing as a "centrist democrat".

The most likely beneficial result of an AOC primary challenge would be to get her out of the house, because I don't see Schumer losing to the vacuous one.

I don't think AOC could beat Upchuck in a primary. However, Upchuck is in his mid 70s so father time is not on his side. Eventually his seat will be up for grabs.

AOC is considered the dumbest Congress-critter in the House,
She would be the perfect successor to Schumer, the perfect SAT scoring high school student.

AOC unseating Schumer does not mean she would inherit the political clout he holds. She would be a very junior member of the Senate who could perhaps continue the role of gadfly much like the only role she's ever played as a Congresscritter.

Lunatics.
While I wish that they would 'shutdown'....
Schumer probably saved the democrat's gluteus maximi by 'caving'.

One other thing about Schumer: Before leftism rotted his mind decades ago, he had scored 1600 on his SAT. That's perfect. AOC has a degree in economics from Boston U, but betrays no knowledge of anything economic. Maybe she should be a stripper. Chuck should be a cook.

Internal fights breaking into the suggestion of primarying of a person in such a high position is a sign of collapse of the dems. The hard Left wants to pick up their toys and play elsewhere. The rest of the incompetent dem party wants to fight over time but the reality is, they are incompetent to do that, as shown repeatedly. Neither wing of the dem party can get the job done. There is no way forward for them as a party or as fractions of a party.

To set a new standard for senatorial stupidity, AOC would have to be dumber than both Barbara Boxer and Kamala Harris, both of whom were Senators from CA and arguably dumber than dirt.

Kabuki Theater!
Pass the Popcorn!
AOC as the dumbest CongressCritter? Well, she's got some stiff competition in old Mad Maxine and Maxine's new understudy, Jasmine Crockett.
The 'Rats held a 'retreat' -they won't admit it, but to decide who had to 'Take One for the Team' and vote for Cloture, as they had two bad choices.... support Trump (Ugh!) or -as they no longer control a Media Monopoly- get blamed for the 'Schumer Shutdown' (Double Ugh!). So.... they had to pick the 'least bad choice' .... for them.
As for me, I'm sitting out here in Flyover Country, grinning and enjoying a nice big bowl of Popcorn!

Schumer, like Pelosi, is a political animal that knows how to navigate the halls of power. He has had several successes for the Dems, but since loyalty is not a Dem value, the party is ready to jettison him over this recent failure.
