Politico co-founder Jim VandeHei said in an interview published Tuesday that the liberal media has reached a low point in popularity and influence over the American public. "There's a market for ideological," VandeHei said in an interview with Mediaite. "The left right now, liberal media, has probably never been weaker in my lifetime than right now." CNN and NBC News, among other liberal news outlets, have reported layoffs of staff this year amid concerns over lower ratings and a changing media landscape, as podcasters continue to grow their audiences.

The Restoring Military Focus Act would permanently eliminate the Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisers for Diversity and Inclusion positions, which were established by the fiscal year 2021 National Defense Authorization Act in the wake of the George Floyd protests.While President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have ordered that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) be banned from the military, Roy’s bill would codify it into law so it could not be reversed in the future under a new administration.

The Senate confirmed Russell Vought to return as head of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) after having helmed the agency during the latter half of President Trump’s first term.
All 53 Republicans backed Vought as OMB director, while every Democrat (47) opposed Trump’s nominee.
“Mr. Vought will have the chance to address two key economic issues — cutting burdensome government regulations and addressing excessive spending,” said Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) in a floor speech Wednesday. “And the history of the past four years under the Biden administration is a history of burdensome new regulations.”

Sometimes you have to laugh. Earlier this week, Sen. Chuck Schumer threw his toys out of the stroller in a social media post. He wrote: “An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government.”
To the extent that this histrionic claim makes any sense we must guess that Schumer was talking about the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Schumer seemed especially angry about the closure of USAID. He went on to grouse about Donald Trump and his “billionaire buddies.”
