The Senate confirmed Russell Vought to return as head of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) after having helmed the agency during the latter half of President Trump’s first term. All 53 Republicans backed Vought as OMB director, while every Democrat (47) opposed Trump’s nominee. “Mr. Vought will have the chance to address two key economic issues — cutting burdensome government regulations and addressing excessive spending,” said Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) in a floor speech Wednesday. “And the history of the past four years under the Biden administration is a history of burdensome new regulations.”

DOGE needs to send a team to the Senate, which is has no efficiency. They go from the rollcall vote to reconsider the vote to nominate, directly to the rollcall vote to go into legislative session, then directly to the rollcall vote to go into executive session, then back to the rollcall vote to go into legislative session. All this nonsense when every senator on the floor knows exactly how they are going to vote. Thune needs to keep the Senate in session 24/7, until the Democrats croak and fall on the floor asleep.

Rats have a 57% disapproval rating with 60% being their death knell so they’re on the edge of destruction. They’re consistently voting against Trumps nominees, filing lawsuits to stop his agenda, encouraging protests and generally being a PITA. Is it because they’re cooked and figure they might as well go down fighting? I can’t believe they’re so screwed and so contrary at the same time.

WASHINGTON — President Trump announced Friday that he will soon sign an executive order ending the Biden administration’s initiative to ban plastic straws across the federal government. “I will be signing an Executive Order next week ending the ridiculous Biden push for Paper Straws, which don’t work,” the president, 78, wrote on Truth Social. “BACK TO PLASTIC!” (Photo) Trump appeared to be referring to former President Joe Biden’s July 2024 promise to “phase out” single-use plastics — including straws, cutlery and cups — in federal departments.

Are you tired of winning yet? Tax season is coming up. My wife does our taxes, which through the close to 30 years I've been self-employed, has always been a complicated process. She is quite good at making sure we pay every penny we're required by law to pay - and not one penny more. That is, of course, what all good Americans should do; rendering unto Caesar has its limits.Every American taxpayer these days, though, has a few more reasons to smile - and on Friday, they gained 182 million more reasons, as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has canceled another 62 contracts, saving all of us

Washington—President Trump said Friday that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative will look at the Defense Department’s massive budget after making significant cuts at other federal agencies — most notably the US Agency for International Development (USAID) — while charging that critics of the effort “don’t love our country.” “Pentagon, Education, just about everything. We’re going to go through everything,” Trump said at a joint White House press conference with visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. “It was so bad, with what we just went through — with this horrible situation we just went through, and I guess 97% of the people have been dismissed,” Trump said,

The Restoring Military Focus Act would permanently eliminate the Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisers for Diversity and Inclusion positions, which were established by the fiscal year 2021 National Defense Authorization Act in the wake of the George Floyd protests. While President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have ordered that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) be banned from the military, Roy’s bill would codify it into law so it could not be reversed in the future under a new administration.

Mr. Crane, during a hearing on 'Rightsizing Government,' noticed that his Democrat colleagues had become a little verklempt over the idea that Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team have been making efforts to slash government waste and fraud. In fact, earlier in the hearing, the resistance party tried to catch GOP lawmakers off guard by calling for a vote to subpoena Musk.

In a tit-for-tat move, President Donald Trump revoked former President Joe Biden's security clearance. Trump announced his plans to do so on Truth Social, saying "we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings." In 2021, shortly after taking office, Biden had revoked Trump's security clearance. Former presidents typically retain their security clearance as those in the very small club of past presidents have a unique perspective on domestic and global matters as well as on the rarified position that they each have held. "There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information," Trump said,
