Former USAID Administrator Samantha Power, the architect of the “Responsibility to Protect” doctrine (R2P) traveled to CBS HQ in New York for a late-night television appearance with Stephen Colbert. The purpose of Power’s appearance was to defend the institutional interests of her former agency, as USAID comes under scrutiny for ridiculous spending and manipulation of foreign and domestic politics. Mrs. Power does her very best Sally Stuthers impersonation as she claims the only purpose of USAID is to facilitate charity and life-saving public health in “underserved nations” around the world.

Yeah, Samantha. The best thing to do when the left believes that something is (allegedly) vital to our national interests is to scamper off to late night TV to discuss it with an extremely unfunny comedian. That's the ticket, peaches. These late night shows are also losing viewers so the audience for your lies is shrinking.

She wants to "get the word out" about what USAID does. Finally the word IS getting out about what USAID has been up to, and the need for accountability is clear. The more Americans learn about USAID's priorities, the more disgusted they are. Why does it cost 20 million dollars to provide Sesame Street to Iraq? Why is it the job of US taxpayers to provide entertainment for Iraq? Is the Corporation for Public Broadcast altering programs, or producing new ones? Why does spending money in Iraq take priority over starving children around the world? If USAID had had proper supervision and the right priorities, it wouldn't be targeted for a massive, overdue overhaul.

Re #23. It is illegal to wiretap American citizens without a warrant. Since ALL, and I mean ALL, phone calls are recorded and stored by NSA, the government folks can ask for 'certain records' via database searches of phone calls, etc via the FISA system. This is intended only to look at FOREIGN comms. And if there is a US citizen involved in a phone call, their identity is "masked" by the system, by law. Certain folks in government can demand "unmasking" to know which American citizen was calling. Samantha Power unmasked Americans at a rate higher than any other person in the last months of the Obama administration. She' corrupt to the core, evil and will do ANYTHING to destroy this country. She was filing unmasking requests at more than one per day for months.

Democrats held three press conferences just this week alone fretting over DOGE potentially having more oversight capability into the federal government. But that’s three more press conferences than they’ve ever held in response to China’s cyberattacks that infiltrated our systems and actually stole sensitive data. Democrat members of the House Ways and Means Committee held a press conference attacking the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for being granted read-only access to the Treasury Department’s payment system. Senate Democrats also held a similar press briefing, calling DOGE’s oversight a “hostile takeover of the Treasury Department.”

In December of 2016 when we discussed the possibility of President Trump’s then new and unique tariff approach, we predicted negligible impact – if any at all. It was a theory at the time, but predicated on the looming possibility that impacted nations would inevitably devalue their currency. It was the currency devaluation, in combination with directed subsidies, that would offset any tariff impact to U.S. consumers. By the time we got to December 2019, we were no longer discussing theory. Deflation due to currency devaluation, subsidy and a rising dollar actually became reality.
