Senate Democrats pushed back a key vote to advance the nomination of Kash Patel on Thursday, forcing consideration of President Trump’s pick to lead the FBI to be postponed until next week. Shortly after convening Thursday morning, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee moved to place a hold on Patel, with Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) acknowledging that “the minority has exercised their right and my right under the committee rules to hold over the nomination of Kash Patel to lead the FBI.” “This is an unusual nomination, and it’s a 10-year nomination,” said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the ranking member on the panel

Comments:

FTA: Durbin - - “to make sure that we took politics out of the equation.” Yes! Yes - - no politics. Deanna is a true patriot! Just imagine - - Kash Patel wants to cut crime in half. What could be more political than that?

Former vice president Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff were spotted at a Los Angeles Lakers game Thursday night — with many quick to boast that “nobody even cared” she was there. Footage circulating on social media showed the ex-veep showing up to the arena with very little fanfare as she and her hubby hiked up the stairs to their non-courtside seats. “Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff arrive at the Lakers game. Pretty much nobody cared,” one person howled on X.

Over a year after a 15-foot great white shark was found dead with mysterious bite wounds and stripped of its internal organs, DNA analysis uncovered its killers. Two animals, orcas, also known as killer whales, and broadnose sevengill sharks, were responsible for the gruesome attack, according to a study published this week in the scientific journal Ecology and Evolution. The body of the massive shark, known as the Carcharodon carcharias, was discovered in October 2023 in southeastern Australia, baffling scientists.

Mr. Crane, during a hearing on 'Rightsizing Government,' noticed that his Democrat colleagues had become a little verklempt over the idea that Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team have been making efforts to slash government waste and fraud. In fact, earlier in the hearing, the resistance party tried to catch GOP lawmakers off guard by calling for a vote to subpoena Musk.
