I confess that I was distressed from a political perspective when the Trump-McConnell Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Yes, it was the right decision. But the hysteria (I can think of no better word for it) that erupted proved to be disastrous for the Republican Party.
In the spring of 2022, Team Red was eagerly rubbing its hands together in anticipation of walloping the Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections. Then SCOTUS handed down its Dobbs v. Jackson decision, and we became the proverbial dog that caught the car.
Democrats seized their opportunity.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how I was constantly encountering reminders to register to vote or “check my registration status.” I couldn’t escape it on streaming ads or social media.
Suddenly, my family and I have noticed a spate of reminders telling us that, although our votes are private, whether or not we vote is a matter of public record. I don’t know if I can call them threats, but I can't help but feel like Cornholio: [gif]
My 19-year-old niece Kenzie is voting in her first general election on Nov. 5, and she’s received more political mail than anyone else in my family this time around.

Welp, look who's back in the news.
I reported on Friday about the continued decline of Michael Cohen, a one-time personal lawyer of former President Donald Trump. In a nutshell, Trump Derangement has so ravaged Cohen's bitterly obsessed mind that he continues to publicly embarrass himself in absurd — yet hilarious — ways.
For example, as I covered in a Friday article, Cohen appeared on Thursday's episode of MSNBC's “Deadline” to warn that if Trump wins the presidential election, he will do "exactly what he says he will do ... rewrite the Constitution. And he is going to destroy our tripartite system, get rid of the judiciary,

Kamala Harris was offered an opportunity to finally work at a McDonald's restaurant but never responded to the invite, a statement circulating on social media indicates.
A franchisee on X posted what they describe as "an internal statement to the McDonald’s system from the US Senior Leadership Team" regarding Donald Trump's visit to a McDonald’s in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
They describe the memo as "100% real."
By now, most of our readers know that Trump swapped out his suit jacket over the weekend with an apron and proceeded to work the fryers and the drive-thru section at the fast food restaurant. [Tweet, video]
It was classic Trump.

Pretty much everything Donald Trump does triggers the left and their media allies.
That certainly was the case in the aftermath of his visit to a Pennsylvania McDonald's where, as we reported, the GOP presidential nominee seemed in his element while working the fry station and interacting with employees and drive-thru customers.
Indeed, wahmbulances have been on standby for the Usual Suspects who, among other things, have suggested this whole thing, which appeared to go over well, was no big deal because presidential candidates "frying food" for the cameras was not a new thing, although we're hard-pressed to find another example in modern history

Democrats publicly said that Trump was goaded into the June debate. Biden issued an “anytime, anywhere” challenge to Trump, and did so while Trump was on trial in New York. Joe said, “I understand you’re free on Wednesday,” which was an insult line written for him. Trump’s trial had an off day on Wednesday. The challenge was best remembered for multiple cuts. Apparently, it took Biden five takes (edits) to get a 14-second challenge. But he got it right. Sort of. [Tweet, video]
Trump accepted. The stage was set and the rules agreed to.

More North Carolina residents turned out to vote on the first day of early voting than in 2020, according to a report from the Associated Press.
This comes as residents in the Tar Heel State are dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which claimed the lives of over 200 people.
Reportedly, all but four of the early voting sites planned for the 25 counties impacted by the storm were open for voting (via AP):
Preliminary data shows a record 353,166 people cast ballots at more than 400 early voting sites statewide on Thursday, compared to 348,599 on the first day in October 2020, the State Board of Elections said Friday.

Betteridge's Law of Headlines asser that "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no," but there are exceptions.
This story might just be one of those exceptions.
As the entire world knows by now, Donald Trump spent a little time this weekend "working" at a McDonald's drive-thru in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania. It was a campaign event, so of course it was staged, but the Left's outrage — I'm not even sure it's feigned — told you everything you need to know about how effective it was to see a billionaire former/future POTUS appearing so cheerful and confident working the crowd and the fryer.

Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that the high voter turnout in Georgia’s early voting did not disprove charges of voter suppression.
Partial transcript as follows:
MARGARET BRENNAN: Senator, we have seen incredible turnout at the polls in Georgia so far. On Friday, though, Vice President Harris spoke about attacks on the freedom to vote, and she specifically referenced the state of Georgia. As you know, the Department of Justice and the state had been fighting going all the way back to 2021 about some state laws

Former President Trump nearly broke the internet when he arrived for a Sunday shift at a Pennsylvania-area McDonald’s and worked the drive-thru window.
The campaign stop underscores allegations that Vice President Kamala Harris never worked at a McDonald’s during her college career as she apparently claimed on her resume.
“Hello everybody,” Trump said walking into the store.
He then took off his jacket and donned a black and yellow apron.
“I like it all,” Trump replied when asked what his favorite item is on the menu. “I like every everything, but I do like the french fries.”
Trump also mocked Harris’s alleged employment at the fast-food restaurant.

President Trump visited his favorite restaurant to work a shift as a fast-food employee before delivering remarks at a Town Hall event in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at 5 pm ET.
“Should I give them extra salt?” President Trump joked as he fixed on one serving of fries.

President Trump also spoke to the media at the drive-through, telling them, “I’ve now worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala.”
