The union representing the nation’s postal workers, who will handle millions of ballots as part of the mass vote-by-mail system, endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president on Thursday.
Voters are being asked to trust an election system in which a key part of the process of casting votes is controlled by an organization loyal to one candidate. (snip) If you vote by mail you have to give your ballot to someone whose union has endorsed one side in the election. How this is even legal at all is completely baffling.

My esteem for the awful postal service, the service part should be dropped, has dropped lower than the already low esteem.

Government "workers" unions should be illegal. That is the root of this problem as well as many others, such as the pathetic performance of the Post Office service.

The US postal service shouldn't be anywhere near a ballot.

Technically, USPS workers are no longer federal employees but given the USPS legal monopoly on handling first class mail, they might as well be. FDR refused creation of government employee unions. I sure wish that was still true.

I can't trust the USPS with anything. Especially the ballots.
They will misplace them or delay them after the election.
Just today, I went for a doctor appointment near Boston, I arrived at 7AM for a 9 o'clock appt. I didn't want to be stuck in traffic. The receptionist said a letter was sent to me Aug. 26th, stating it was rescheduled for Sept. 17th not the 13th. I'm still waiting for the letter.
Plus, my x-rays were to be sent to my home, 25 miles from the hosp., on Aug. 27th, they arrived on Sept 11th.
When I went to the PostOffice after this wild goose chase, they said it wasn't their fault, that the people just didn't mail it on time.
They wouldn't argue with me: they were right and I was wrong!
And the USPS wants more money, for what?

Just because sacks of ballots from certain zip codes were discarded last time doesn't mean it will happen again!

Another reason they should have published voter registration lists 90 days prior to any ballot being sent out.
Any registration (new or changes) during that 90 day period will be provisional to provide ample time to verify.
All ballots would be numbered and the ballot envelope would have same number - for tracking and tracing.
All ballot collection boxes, baskets, bags, etc. will also have tracking numbers published and posted as to how many will be used - for tracking and tracing.
Any ballot drop box should have ATM style technology. 1 ballot inserted at a time, will be date/time stamped and a camera. All ballots picked up will need to match the number that were counted (along with the tracking numbers on each ballot and envelop).
Start with a few of these types of things, none of which are impacting voters, to create more obstacles for any potential cheating or "lost" ballots.
The goal is to ensure every legal ballot is counted and no one is having their right to vote disenfranchised.

The Post Office does one useful thing. Each day they scan my mail and send me an email of what I'm supposed to get. That way I don't have to walk to my mailbox to get junk mail. Each time I get snail mail from a bank I just start screaming at them. I want email not snail mail. A couple of years ago someone stole a check from my mailbox and forged a check for around $ 1.8k. At least email doesn't get wet when it rains.

I worked at a coding center in 1999 and the propaganda was off the charts. I remember a poster they put up saying all the things algore was for that Bush was against. They were lies but the one I remember was payroll protection. I was like wth is payroll protection? It wasn’t an issue but sure did sound bad. The son of friends of my parents worked there too and he tore that poster down lol.

Oh Boy! First Taylor Swift and now the postal union workers are supporting Kamala. They must know something I haven't been able to determine about her ability, intellect, economic smarts, etc. I know she can lie, that she is lazy, that she can't string two sentences together that make sense, and that she can be a nasty piece of work. Her running mate is making a fool of himself too.

The postal service in our community, along with other neighboring communities, is abysmal.
Mail going to the wrong house, mail being stolen or simply disappearing, bills coming after their due dates, etc.
Mail in ballots are the voter fraud in our elections, and the postal service is an accomplice.
