Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who almost always sides with the liberal wing on decisions, admitted to sometimes crying after certain rulings in favor of the conservatives.
Sotomayor admitted to crying when speaking at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute on Friday upon receiving an award.
“There are days that I’ve come to my office after an announcement of a case and closed my door and cried,” Sotomayor said. “There have been those days. And there are likely to be more.”
The justice said there are sometimes moments where she is “deeply, deeply sad.”
“There are moments when, yes, even I feel desperation,” she said. “We all do.

There's word of a new airstrike on Rafah on Sunday, just hours after Hamas lobbed rockets from Gaza into Israel overnight, as we shared earlier. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirms that it launched the strike against a Hamas compound, and took out two of the terror group's top commanders, Fox News Digital reported:
While the exact number of killed remains unclear at this time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it struck a Hamas compound in Rafah in which "significant Hamas terrorists were operating."
The IDF, citing intelligence that it said indicated Hamas’ use of the area, said it carried out the strike "against legitimate targets under international law."

Donald Trump spoke at the Libertarian Party Convention on Saturday night and, given the controversy over the invitation within the party, it wasn't surprising that many in the audience expressed their displeasure at the former president's presence.
Trump was trying to pry some Libertarian Party voters away from Robert Kennedy. who spoke earlier in the day to a sparse crowd.
Besides that, it took some courage to speak at a venue where he knew he would receive a mixed reception. Trump paid the crowd little mind, making his points and occasionally responding to the crowd. "You can keep going the way you have for the last long

A North Texas sheriff confirmed the deaths of at least five people in a tornado that struck two counties during the Memorial Day weekend. At least 20 others were injured in the Saturday-night storm.
Cooke County, Texas, Sheriff Ray Sappington reported the deaths of at least five people that struck Saturday night in his North Texas county. As the sun rose on Sunday morning, the trail of devastation appeared to stretch for miles, NBCDFW reported. “We do have five confirmed (deaths), but sadly, we think that that number is probably going to go up,” Sappington told reporters. ”There’s nothing left of this house. It’s just a trail of debris

CNN's data reporter is sounding the alarm on a "very troubling" sign for the Biden campaign: Donald Trump's support among black voters has more than doubled.
"Look, if you look at 2024, Biden still leads among black voters over Donald Trump, 69% in an average of polls," CNN's Harry Enten said. "But look at this number for Donald Trump: 22%. Where was Donald Trump at this point? Four years ago in the poll, he was just at 9% of the vote."
"So he's seen more than a doubling in his support among African-Americans," he continued. "This margin, which was in the 70s, just four years ago, look at where it is

Hillary Clinton blamed the fact that female voters abandoned her as her 2016 presidential campaign came to a close on her not being “perfect” in a recent interview.
“They left me because they just couldn’t take a risk on me because, as a woman, I’m supposed to be perfect,” the former secretary of state told the New York Times in an interview conducted in February and published Saturday.
She went on to argue that female voters took a “risk” on former President Donald Trump because he is a man. “They were willing to take a risk on [Trump] — who had a long list of, let’s call them flaws,

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” U.S. Fleet Forces Command Commander Admiral Daryl Caudle stated that attempted penetrations of military bases by foreign nationals “is happening more and more. This is something we see probably two or three times a week, where we’re stopping these folks at the gate” in the Navy alone and the nationals come from all different nations and many times have passports and papers.
Caudle said, “This thing of our military bases getting penetrated by foreign nationals is happening more and more. This is something we see probably two or three times a week, where we’re stopping these folks at the gate.”

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed Thursday that one of two Jordanian nationals who tried to sneak onto a Marine Corps base in Virginia this month had entered the U.S. illegally across the southern border in April.
ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) confirmed in a statement to Fox5DC that the Jordanian national, referred to as “noncitizen 2” had entered the U.S. illegally less than a month prior:
On April 8, 2024, the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) arrested Jordanian noncitizen 2 near San Ysidro, California, following his unlawful entry into the United States.
On April 9, 2024, the USBP issued Jordanian noncitizen 2 a Notice to Appear

The Biden administration is crediting strengthened border enforcement and a crackdown by the Mexican government on migrants traveling to the U.S. for a drastic drop in illegal southern border crossings in recent months.
But Republicans argue that the border crisis has not abated. They argue instead that the administration is playing a shell game, using “unlawful mass-parole programs” to send migrants to ports of entry and then letting them into the country “often with little or no vetting.”
According to a report from CBS News, over the first three weeks of May, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended about 3,700 migrants per day between official

One of the unintended consequences of the Ukraine War is the developing relationship between Russia and North Korea. North Korea has supplied Russia with badly needed ammunition and artillery shells while Moscow has begun to transfer technology to Pyongyang. It's a symbiotic relationship that will grow even closer in the coming weeks when Russian President Vladimir Putin visits North Korea to formally cement the partnership.
With Moscow's backing, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un may be unleashed, say several military and intelligence sources in the U.S.
“We have no doubt that North Korea will be provocative this year. It’s just a matter of how escalatory it is,” a U.S. intelligence official said.

For the second time in a week, the liberal ladies of The View were told to go pound sand by a guest after they tried to pressure them into becoming a shill for President Biden’s reelection effort like they were. On Wednesday’s show, they spoke with radio host Charlamagne the God and wanted him to do more for Biden than say former President Trump was a danger to democracy and unfit for office. Proclaiming she wanted the conversation to “get real,” staunchly racist and anti-Semitic co-host Sunny Hostin (the descendant of slave owners) decried Charlamagne for not endorsing Biden this time around: Now, you have a massive platform

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito is a “threat to our democracy” and maybe even the clearly biased “prince of darkness” who has sympathized with insurrectionists and publicly advocated for the “movement to overturn a lawful election.” Those are just some of the claims by elected Democrats and left-wing activists who have jumped at the opportunity this week to dress down Alito, to run down the court’s legitimacy, and to call for the justice’s recusal from a couple of January 6-related cases.
The chorus of voices calling for Alito’s recusal has grown in response to recent New York Times
