Japan’s leader on Thursday issued a passionate plea for Republicans in Congress not to turn away from America’s role as a leader on the world stage, in the face of anxiety over GOP stonewalling of aid for Ukraine and growing isolationism under the influence of former President Trump.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, addressing a joint meeting of Congress, was blunt in his criticism that lawmakers are suffering from “self-doubt” at a time when U.S. leadership is most needed. “You believed that freedom is the oxygen of humanity. The world needs the United States to continue playing this pivotal role in the affairs of nations,” Kishida said.

Non-profit theater companies across the country would receive a $5 billion taxpayer-funded bailout under a new plan being promoted by a group of Democrats in the Senate. The proposed bailout comes as prominent stages are facing unprecedented financial crises following their embrace of woke identity politics, which has alienated audiences and donors. Among the companies poised to receive the new federal dollars would be New York’s Public Theater, which staged the gruesome stabbing death of President Donald Trump in its infamous 2017 production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar.

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on Thursday acknowledged errors in the investigation of former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign as he pushed for a warrantless surveillance tool’s renewal.
The FBI used a document containing opposition research on Trump to earn approval from a secret court that oversees the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to secretly monitor campaign aide Carter Page, according to CNN. The House of Representatives on Wednesday blocked a bill to reauthorize Section 702 of FISA, with April 19 being the deadline to do so, but McCabe on “CNN Newsroom With Jim Acosta” advocated to renew it while admitting the act has led to misuse.

It’s a tale all too common in small towns across America. Small businesses once thrived on Main Street only to see giant corporate mega-stores blow into town to undercut them. Now, a new threat looms for small businesses in the form of the Durbin-Marshall credit card bill.
The bill is poised to alter the credit card routing system as we know it under the guise that it would “create competition” and financially benefit small businesses, community banks, and consumers. But the facts reveal just the opposite. While Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Roger Marshall (R-KS)’s mega-store allies would stand to gain billions,

On the menu today: Representative Sheila Jackson Lee tells a group of high schoolers that the moon “is made up mostly of gases.” Senator Elizabeth Warren argues that Israel is pursuing genocide in the Gaza Strip. Former president Trump speculates that Joe Biden used cocaine before his State of the Union Address, and says he wants Biden to take a drug test before any presidential debate. And Marjorie Taylor Greene insists that Vladimir Putin, by invading Ukraine, is “defending Christianity.”

For decades, but with special force since October 7, Israel and her friends have always made the same point about Israel’s conflicts with the jihadists who attack her: Everything the jihadists say to the world’s media is propaganda; the world’s media know this but report it anyway; and hospitals are Hamas’s military headquarters and ambulances their military transport, making both legitimate military targets. Two videos (one from Bill Clinton and one from an Islamic Jihad spokesman) prove these facts to be true, and one video (from a Joe Rogan interview with Coleman Hughes) shows how Israel is completely shackled by Hamas’s tactics and the world’s complicity.

In a recent discussion with Alexander Stubb, who is the president of Finland, CNN’s Fareed Zakaria apparently thought it would be a cakewalk to get the newly elected European leader to say something negative and alarming about former President Donald Trump.
It did not go well for Fareed.
President Stubb ended up praising Trump for doing what is right.
Fareed, pushing a familiarly deceptive media line, asked President Stubb to comment on “what everybody is talking about,” namely that: President Stubb did not take the bait. Rejecting Fareed’s attempt to stir up dissension between Trump and NATO members,

Melania Trump’s headlining fundraiser later this month is part of a strategy to portray the former first lady as a “softer, more moderate voice” for the Trump campaign, sources told The Post.
While Donald Trump will join his wife at the April 20 fundraiser, hosted at Mar-a-Lago by the Log Cabin Republicans, insiders said the campaign intends to put — and keep — Melania in the spotlight as the feminine counterpoint to his brash style.
“The Trump campaign recognizes that Melania is their secret weapon,” a source close to the campaign said. “Her appeal is critical to win battleground states and undecided voters,

President Joe Biden keeps lecturing corporate America to "pay your fair share" of taxes. It turns out he's right that some companies really are getting away scot-free from paying taxes. But it isn't Big Tech companies in Silicon Valley or the Wall Street financial company "fat cats" or big banks or Walmart. They pay billions in taxes.
The culprits here are the very companies that Biden is in bed with: green energy firms.
It turns out that despite all the promises over the past decade about how renewable energy is the future of power production in America,

The Jordanian authorities have accused the Muslim Brotherhood and its offshoot, Hamas, of seeking to destabilize security inside the kingdom.
Behind both Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, of course, is the terrorist-sponsoring emirate, Qatar, and its propagandizing television bullhorn, Al-Jazeera.
Jordan's leaders are doing exactly what many other Arab regimes and heads of state have long been doing: radicalizing their people and inciting them to violence against Israel as a means of distracting them from problems at home.

Former President Donald Trump declined to endorse a national abortion ban Monday, instead saying that abortion laws should be left to the states.
“My view is now that we have abortion where everyone wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation, or perhaps both. And whatever they decide must be the law of the land. In this case, the law of the state,” Trump said in a video message posted to his Truth Social page.
He didn’t say after how many weeks of pregnancy he believes abortion should be banned.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton returned to her alma mater, Wellesley College, on Saturday. But the reception was less than polite.
Clinton returned to campus to participate in a women-led democracy summit and to acknowledge the honor of a college building named after her, the Hillary Rodham Clinton Center for Citizenship, Leadership, and Democracy. Wellesley College alum Hillary Rodham Clinton (’69) is in town this weekend to launch the Hillary Rodham Clinton Center for Citizenship, Leadership, and Democracy with a one-day summit on Saturday, April 6 called Renewing Democracy: Women Leading the Way.
