Former Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel as a new job. She is joining NBC News as a contributor and will be sharing analysis across all the network's news platforms. McDaniel announced in late February that she would be departing her GOP leadership role earlier this month after pressure from former President Donald Trump who was publicly backing close loyalist Michael Whatley and daughter-in-law Lara Trump for leadership as he closed in on the Republican presidential nomination. NBC News Senior Vice President of Politics Carrie Budoff Brown made the announcement in a staff memo on Friday
