A pair of 19-year-old twin sisters were stabbed at a Brooklyn bodega early Sunday after rejecting their attacker’s advances — with one of the teens killed in the assault and the other hospitalized in stable condition.
Samyia Spain and her sister, Sanyia, were with a group of friends and relatives inside Slope Natural Plus on Fourth Avenue in Park Slope around 2:20 a.m. when the two were attacked, police and sources said.
According to relatives, the attack came after the suspect tried to hit on the two girls but was shot down. “He walked in and started hitting on her,” Alphonso Goodson, the girls’ grandfather, told The Post.

But it's merely a "perception".

Same bodega where a year ago a woman "Assassinated" her former girlfriend out front.
I wasn't always a Good Boy, but I knew even waaaay back then that, as Gramma used to say,
"There ain't nothin' Honest and Honorable going on out there at 2:30 AM"
Yet apparently the whole famn damily was out and about, Mom, sisters, cousins, aunts, granmother, Godmother, granfather...

What are the odds the assailant is a tax paying US citizen with no prior record?
Anyone?

If it is called a "bodega" it is not something that should exist in the USA, and almost certainly is going to be a violent place, filled with illegals and undesirables, many of them violent.
The term "bodega" isn't even an American term, shows the negative foreign influence all by itself.

Going out drunk and tattooed at 2:30am - - not the wisest choices.
But all decent L-Dotters should be on the lookout - - for what most likely is a "teen" - - or possibly a "youth." If you see anyone like that - - notify Alejandro Mayorkas - - immediately!

For some strange reason there is no physical description given of the perps.

FTA: "the attack came after the suspect tried to hit on the two girls but was shot down"
It's a real shame that they weren't actually shot down, like with a 9mm or maybe a 12 gauge shotgun.

“She was with her mother and sister,” the woman, who would only give her name as China, said Sunday. “It was a whole bunch of them. They had a game night."
Mom took two minor daughters out to get drunk. Defective parenting had a lot to do with this

Bodega sounds like an old timey medical condition. "Grandpa cant get out of bed because his bodega is flaring up."

there's nothing infamous about a bodega. in spain--it's just a wine cellar.
ppl there make, blend, store, and serve area families w/ their own speciality wines, sherries ect.
in their storefronts, along with homemade tapas, coffees, meals desserts ect. ...like a pub.
the locals will go, of a sunday, after mass to their favourite bodegas to sample jerez fino, dry sherry
from the barrels. no one is taste testing at 2,30 am however.

Re #11, in Spain, in a nice neighborhood, perhaps the word is a respectable word.
In the USA, it generally applies to a Mexican bar, and not a classy kind, a dive....at least from how it's used on TV shows which take place in NYC. "Mex dive bar" seems to be the equivalent, functionally, in NYC.

#12, a bodega is the equivalent of a 7/11, sometimes smaller but can be a regular sized storefront that sells general merchandise, snax, drinks and smokes. It’s not a bar.
Not being contentious, just a denizen of sad places containing bodegas.
