The Biden administration finalized a rule on Wednesday that’s expected to make a significant amount of the new car market electric or hybrid. An administration official told reporters Tuesday that under the new rule, 56 percent of the new vehicles on the market in 2032 could be battery electric, while an additional 13 percent could be plug-in hybrids. That’s up from a collective 16 percent of sales being electric and hybrid cars last year. The rule is a cornerstone of the Biden administration’s climate agenda, as the cars and other light-duty vehicles it regulates currently make up about 17 percent of U.S. planet-warming emissions. The rule also regulates medium-duty vehicles. But

Delusional is kind. In 2023 ev sales were 7% of total vehicle sales. Hybrids were about 9% of total sales. Biden wants to go from 16% of new cars being "electric" to 71% in just 8 years, thats about an 80% increase in hybrids and about a 800% increase in full electrics. Full electric sales rosd from 800,000 in 2022 to 1.2 million in 2023. Total 2023 US car sales were about 15.6 million. Currently BEVs get $7500 subsidy from taxpayers. To pay for 56% of 15.5 million new cars as BEV will cost 65.1 Billion there is not enough lithium mined yet to make the batteries. China has 90% of all the rare earths needed most of which is still in the ground. There are not enough known reserves of 4 or 5 of the required rare earth metals in the world and there is no quantum leap battery technology on the horizon to change this by 2032. Idiots.

Politico has a follow up on something which seems pretty strange in retrospect. Just a few months ago, the Biden administration was leaking to the media that it was about to crack down on illegal immigration. Specifically, we were told there might be an executive order coming intended to limit the surge of asylum seekers. But all of that seems to have faded away. A month ago, the White House was openly considering a string of executive actions to curb migration at the southern border. But no announcements were made. And now, immigration advocates who had been engaged with the Biden administration about the moves say they no longer appear imminent...

This case represents the latter circumstance. This case is about punishing the Defendants for their speech.” The judge argued that the lawsuit unfairly targeted the nonprofit Center for Countering Digital Hate following its reports on the rise in allegedly
