The NAACP is actively encouraging Black student-athletes not to attend public colleges and universities in Florida due to the state's new diversity, equity and inclusion policies. The announcement comes as reports surfaced that the University of Florida is closing its DEI office after the passage of the Individual Freedom Act, commonly known as the "Stop WOKE Act." State officials say the act prohibits institutions from using state or federal funds to administer programs that "categorize individuals based on race or sex for the purpose of differential or preferential treatment."

A teenager planned to attack churches in a northern Idaho city using a metal pipe, butane fuel, a machete and, if he could get them, his father's guns, according to federal prosecutors who charged him with attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State group.

An emergency has been declared after radiation was detected in a major Russian city. Authorities in the far eastern city of Khabarovsk have declared a state of emergency in an area where a "radiation source" was found, according to TASS news agency.

Civil rights groups are calling for the collapsed Baltimore bridge to be renamed when it's rebuilt, citing accusations of racism against national anthem author Francis Scott Key.
The Caucus of African American Leaders of Anne Arundel County in Maryland voted unanimously to call for the renaming and will lobby governor Wes Moore on the proposal, as reported by the Baltimore Banner.
The caucus includes civil rights groups such as the NAACP and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. Leaders argued that the The Star-Spangled Banner author -who the collapsed bridge was named after - was a slave owner who wrote lyrics that scholars have said 'demeaned black people.'
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Ukraine will lose the war against Russia unless the U.S. provides further military aid.
According to The Kyiv Independent, Zelensky made the remarks on Sunday during a meeting with the Ukrainian fund-raising group UNITED24.
“It’s important to specifically address the Congress: if the Congress doesn’t help Ukraine, Ukraine will lose the war,” Zelensky said. “If Ukraine loses this war, other countries will be attacked. This is a fact."
