A veteran NPR editor has blown the whistle on how the publicly-funded broadcaster has become an activist organization obsessed with pushing progressive ideals.
Uri Berliner, a business editor at NPR for 25 years, has offered a glimpse into his belief that NPR has gone from a respected information source to one that can't be trusted to honestly cover the news.
In an essay for The Free Press, Berliner notes that while NPR has always had a liberal bent, the publication was not 'not knee-jerk, activist, or scolding' - something he says changed when Donald Trump entered the political arena.

You never had America's trust, except in your own bubble-heads.

NPR was always "left", but it is barely even listenable now, post-Trump. Every author they interview is LGTBQ these days. Yesterday they were talking about the "White Christian Nationalists", which is a group of people I never heard of before. But it is an election year, so everyone needs a scary new enemy to get them out to vote.
I wany 1990s NPR back. A good, if biased, alternative to AM talk radio, which for some reason thinks I want to hear divorce lawyers and retirement shows on the weekends.

After receiving this pie to the face, NPR editor-in-chief Edith Chapin said, apparently without a trace of self-awareness, "Let’s not forget that the reason we remain one of the most trusted news organizations in the country is that we respect people’s ability to form their own judgments."
Seems to me a proper judgement cannot be formed without knowing all the facts, and (uncomfortable) facts are something NPR strenuously works to obscure.

I briefly listened to NPR in the 1980's. I liked Car Talk, and I enjoyed their classical music. But the news got to me. It was so smug and condescending. And even back then, I could sense the antisemitism. I quit and have never gone back and I never will listen to them again.

I remember the trust being doubted back when the geniuses of NPR questioned whether good character was necessary in a president when Billy Jeff got caught with his pants down and ruined Monica's dress. That was way before Hunter.

I wonder.... after setting a toe -even ever so lightly- off The Plantation.....will this guy have a job after this week, or will he be 'cancelled' and 'employment free' and thus able to seek a position at a regular news network, or free to start his own podcast?

Deep down, I have always resented that part of the taxes on my hard-earned salary went to this lazy-ass Communist endeavor. If you are raising a family and working full time, you don't have time to sit, much less worry about what your so-called country is doing under the cover of darkness. At least commercial TV finally found a way to make the constant ads sorta, kinda interesting.

1.) Fire the CEO. These things don’t just “happen”. There is a cause.
2.) Replace him with a conservative. Let those on staff who can’t deal with that do what they will.
Or
1.) Cease any further funding. Let NPR do whatever it wants.
This is “Public” radio. I am a citizen of the public. I have a say in this.

NPR is the national mouthpiece for the Left (or, the Dem./Left) and there is no equivalent for us, now that Rush has passed away. If you're driving around in the car or taking care of things at home, whatever, we used to meet, in a manner of speaking, at noon, around the radio, and "gain enlightenment" and a lot of hilarity, and just shear enjoyment.
So, there isn't a counterpoint to NPR's flood of lies, obfuscation, duplicity and the sin of omitting important issues and news and facts which are inconvenient for their political goals.
In addition, the so-called "opposition Party," the RNC, can't seem to coalesce around a set of clearly defined principles (and pleeeeze, it isn't lower taxes --although I'm all for that). They are all scrambling for a piece of the pie, as greedy and selfish as the Dem./Left, while our Republic is coming apart, is being rent apart, by evildoers, haters, from within and without our nation.
So the "Pravda" of our homeland is NPR. We need to smarten up fast. Learn from those who seek to destroy our Constitutional Republic and counteract their mayhem. The are busybody activists, and this behavior really doesn't seem to come easy to us on the Conservative side. They are unrelenting; they don't quit. The closest we've come was during the TEA Party era, which the RNC couldn't stomach. Yes, the Left is also well-funded, and pretty much controls all the "institutions" a la Gramsci. So, as simple as it may sound, we can at the very least contact our congressmen again and again, and not just from our State. Praise the ones who earn praise, and blame those who betray not just us, but their own, OUR, country. Write to editors, print and other media.
