Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) refused to say if she would support former President Donald Trump if he won the GOP presidential nomination. Partial transcript as follows: KARL: We’re just about of time, but I’ve got to ask, you had said earlier in this process that you will support Donald Trump if he wins the Republican nomination. But since you made that pledge, he has encouraged NATO – he encouraged Russia – said he would encourage Russia to do whatever the hell it wants with – with a NATO ally. You have called him diminished, unhinged, unfit for office.

We'll take that as a confirmed no, then. Indeed #1 makes a great point. She’s polishing up her democrat bona fides, not that she needs to. Might as well switch parties at this point and end the pretense.

Does she think she should earn the presidency simply because she is a woman and it's her turn? We had someone try that a few years back, in 2008 and 2016. God save us from a harridan.

Federal authorities constructed a wall surrounding the U.S. Capitol Building for President Joe Biden’s Thursday State of the Union speech, drawing the ire of Republicans who painted a contrast between Biden’s open border policies and the heavily guarded Capitol complex. The eight-foot black Capitol wall, approved by the Capitol Police Board, could be more heavily guarded on Thursday by law enforcement than the southern border where 1.7 million known “gotaways” escaped into the United States under Biden. The Capitol Police say Biden’s State of the Union address is a designated National Special Security Event, which requires a “robust” security plan

Any voter who listened to a stump speech from former South Carolina Gov. "He lost 40% of the primary vote in all of the early states," she said last week at a campaign rally in Minnesota. "You can't win the general election if you can't win that 40% [back]." Haley was exaggerating. For example, in the 15 GOP states that voted on Super Tuesday, she has gotten less than 20%
