Report: Desperate Car Dealers Slashing
EV Prices to Try and Boost Sales

Psssst. Wanna’ buy a new electric vehicle (EV)? No, me neither, but some people do and they’re being greeted by desperate car dealers willing to slash prices by anything up to a quarter in an effort to shift stock. This Is Money reports the average discount on a new EV in the UK has increased by 204 per cent since last January, citing market analysis by What Car? as dealerships are going to extraordinary lengths to stimulate sluggish sales. The revelation comes just days after a Lords Committee warned the Government that UK drivers are turning their back on the electric transition. They are blaming a toxic combination of high purchase

Train your camera on the sales mgr. who is selling his soul while he whips a dead horse(power). I still say there is a time and a place for EVs and it isn't now. Give it 30 or 60 more years. People will hate an EV into the 23rd century--should we make it another 90 years.

Buying an EV is like buying a time share. They make the real money when you have to maintain it and replace the battery, without the government propping up the price.

Simple physics is against EV’s for personal transportation. Diesel Electric trains can move phenomenal amounts of freight, very cheap, because of the torque curve of electric motors. That torque curve is completely wrong for personal transportation. So the rest of the eventual EV fantasies (range, infrastructure, etc) are completely irrelevant.

" average discount on a new EV in the UK has increased by 204 per cent ".... misleading phrasing. Sounds like they're giving 'em away, with that huge PERCENTAGE increase in the 'discount'. So the discount increased by '204 percent'..... it went from $1 to $3.04? The body of the article states that "the average cash and finance discount on EVs rose from 2.4 per cent to 7.5 per cent". Oh, wake me when the discount equals the increase in fire insurance premium I have to pay to keep one of these at my home.

The simple reality is that if EVs were a good deal, people would be buying them. The only people that are buying them are either stupid or seeking "green" kudos and have enough money that they don't care about a handicapped car AND have other cars that are not EVs. The problem is not just that the technology is NOT there yet, it's that the government is spending OUR money to push EVs and arm twisting companies into producing them. Further the BIGGEST crime is the whole reason behind needing EVs, a fraudulent climate emergency spun by liberals and "scientists" that should be banned from participation in public debate because they are liars. It's all a power and money grab.

Last I heard, Ford was losing $36,000 on every single Ford electric truck that they "sold". And now fewer buying than before. News reports are that even in California, EV sales are dropping, lower each quarter for the last several quarters. The truth is getting out, and only 5% or maybe as much as 10% can fit one of these expensive, limited-use vehicles into their lives in any useful way. And the used EV market is dead. Who wants to buy a used vehicle when the $20,000 to $25,000 battery replacement is about due? These things are junk in 3-5 years from new, worth $15K, but need a $20-25K battery to drive at all. Scrap yard. Conventional cars which are 5 or 10 years old, if well maintained, and if not in the extreme rust belt, can give much more wonderful, reliable and affordable service, many for 20+ years. I have a 21 year old Ford pickup which runs great. I drove it on long trips whenever needed, even though it mostly sits, but when I need a load of gravel, or to haul plywood, or lumber for myself or friends, or haul heavy things, it's there. Ever reliable, and was cheap to purchase used. It will last me for the rest of my life. My old Toyota SUV has nearly 200 K miles and nearly 20 years on it. Running perfectly, and I take good care of it. We regularly drive on 1000 mile or greater trips with it, very reliable. No immediate plans to replace it. This whole lifestyle of buying a quality used vehicle is the only option for many people, and EVs cancel that option entirely, they are junk in 3-5 years. If only EVs were available, the lower 35% of Americans would not have a car at all. Perhaps that is the intent of these evil "elites".

#13 writes "a fraudulent climate emergency spun by liberals and "scientists" ....." I note that most of these scientists - except the retired ones- are dependent on research grants from the National Science Foundation. The money comes from -and is controlled by- POLITICIANS. The money flows freely..... IF the 'science' supports the POLITICAL AGENDA. Years ago, we heard, over and over, of the "Military-Industrial Complex" that President Eisenhower warned about in his farewell address. What is NEVER mentioned is that, in the same address, Ike warned us about the "Government-Scientific Complex" of Big Government funded 'Big Science'...... and that is just what is in operation with this whole "Anthropogenic Climate Disruption" hoax. It truly is The Scam of the Century.

In recent years, the American car market has been pushed toward becoming a significantly more electric one by the Biden Administration's strict Environmental Protection Agency rules. Those car tailpipe emission rules are so strict that by 2032, two-thirds of all new cars would need to have no emissions at all. But now, after months of pressure from automakers, dealers, labor unions and the other side of the political aisle, the White House may ease up on that plan—a move that will sure to draw the ire of EV proponents and anyone sounding the alarm over global warming. This report comes from the New York Times, citing three unnamed officials

WASHINGTON - U.S. President Joe Biden has spent years implementing programs to fight climate change by advancing renewable energy and imposing tougher regulations on fossil fuels. Much of that work could go up in smoke if his likely rival Donald Trump beats him at the polls in November, according to Republican policy advisers. Former President Trump, who is on track to clinch the Republican nomination, would re-enter the White House with a raft of executive orders to expand oil, gas and coal development, they said. That would include ending a pause on new LNG export permits, scrapping electric vehicle mandates and once again withdrawing the United States

The withdrawal, announced as Ukraine faces acute shortages of ammunition with U.S. military aid delayed for months in Congress, aimed to save troops from being fully surrounded by Russian forces after months of fierce fighting, Kyiv said. Most of the city’s pre-war population of 32,000 people has already left, and the town has been almost completely destroyed.

The latest demographic data from Canada showed the male population increasing by 3.4 percent, while females grew by only 2.9 percent, the widest disparity between the sexes in almost half a century. Bloomberg BNN noted on Thursday that almost all of Canada’s net population growth is due to immigration, “especially among foreign students and temporary workers.” “From the late 1970s to around the early 2010s, Canada’s population increasingly skewed female, but the trend has been reversing

One of the tricks of knowing when a leftist judge is pulling a fast one is if the decision is really, really long. (snip) Indeed, generally speaking, in my thirty-five years as an attorney, I’ve never seen an appellate court uphold damages so disproportionate to actual injuries suffered—and again, there were no injuries in this case. The fact that there were no injuries in itself means that the case, from ig to zack, denied Trump due process. I don’t see the judgment surviving an appeal, that’s for sure.
