This story will make you miss the days when education was about actually learning skills and subjects that would help to equip children for adulthood. A Seattle high school issued a reading assignment featuring nine supposed traits of white supremacy.
The assignment in question dives deep into progressive racial theory and is ostensibly intended to promote critical thinking about America’s societal structures. But a closer look reveals its actual aim: To further indoctrinate children into progressive ideology on race issues.
Students in a Seattle English class were told that their love of reading and writing is a characteristic of “white supremacy,” in the latest Seattle Public Schools high school controversy.

At this rate, why even have public schools?
Punctuality, self-determination, self-discipline, math, now reading and writing are all "white supremacy."
What do these "teachers," teach?

If the kids are smart they'll use this to their advantage and refuse to do anymore schoolwork on account of not wanting to be accused of white suptemacy.

Is there a straight forward meaning or is 'Written Word' a code word for something else? And who can I believe to tell me the truth?

It’s about time that every public school classroom should have an audio video set up where parents can sign in and see for themselves what is actually being taught to their children in those classrooms.

In a way they're right, all knowledge is contained in rap lyrics. Taylor Swift is the Talmud.

Dumbing down the electorate, this time minority students. Dr King must be spinning in his grave. Order drive thru, the people in the windows can barely comprehend what is being ordered let alone count the change. The Dumber the population is, the easier it is to control the population. It's Hunger Games Science. The Democrats have got that science down to a T, oops can mention the alphabet, according to them.

40 years ago a friend was lamenting that it had become "smart to be dumb". Anyone who has been in a class with one of them and the teacher asks one to read out loud from a book can attest to it.
They think they so koo but wordz be hard.

So blacks should be illiterate? OK, knock yourselves out, but when you found out that you are unemployable, feel free to sue your teachers.

This crap didn't happen overnight.
If people had been watching the schools as closely as their 401ks,we might have been able to prevent or stop this MAleducation.

I think of Frederick Douglass who wanted so much to be able to read and pretty well taught himself how to read. I think he'd have some choice words for whoever came up with this idiotic drivel.

Yes, knowing how to read is a nice benefit of being a white supremacist.

Is it time to remove non-whites from classrooms? The purpose of the school systems in the USA are to educate the children. We don't want to support racism, so it appears we must remove non-whites to educate students without discriminating against them. Is that the gist of the article? That is a pretty hot take.

What do they say about the Asians? They also have written languages. Is this another way for the Left to destroy our country by insisting we not teach reading and writing in school?

Oh, please. Your poster child for "white supremacy" is some beer-gutted yahoo, wearing a Maga baseball cap, carrying a rifle, with one working pick-up truck and two dead ones on his front lawn, from the Great American Outback (between the coasts).
Are you telling me he got that way because of READING and respect for the "Written Word"?! The Progs have got to get their scattershot stereotypes in hand and make them consistent.
And BTW, in my neck of the woods, first take on "Written Word" is the Bible.

I don't find anything surprising here. The last thing the left wants is educated students capable of thinking independently. That is why indoctrination, or right thinking, is the most important goal of our "supposed" educational institutions. Until our tax dollars are re-directed away from supporting the teachers unions and their administrators either through a voucher system or subsidizing home schoolers we will never see reform in public education.

I guess when missionaries arrived in Africa, they should have not bothered trying to teach 6th century stone age people to read, write and do arithmetic. After all, it was all sooooooo white. Better let them go back to the time when they wuz stone age 'intellects'. they still iz.
