Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas accused Missouri Gov. Mike Parson of using a racial “dog whistle” when referring to the suspected shooters at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade as “thugs.”
Lucas made the comment during an appearance on local radio show “Up to Date” on Friday.
He told KCUR host Steve Kraske that he has seen similar incidents of alleged racism “time and again.”
Following the shooting, Parson had said, “We can’t let some thugs just take over and ruin what happened.”
“I have respect for the governor. We get along well,” Lucas told Kraske. “I disagree strongly with how he would describe that situation.
Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that she was not ruling out a presidential run to keep former President Donald Trump out of the White House.
Anchor Jake Tapper said, “You still haven’t ruled out a presidential run of your own in 2024, as far as I know. Are you still considering it, or what do you rule it out?”
Cheney said, “I haven’t made any decisions about it yet. I’m going to do whatever is necessary to defeat Donald Trump.”
Tapper said, “But if it came down to you, not running, and it’s Biden versus Trump, you would you would support Biden?”

The Antioch Community Library in Contra Costa, California was abruptly closed on Saturday. We've been talking for some time about how bad Joe Biden's classified documents scandal was compared to former President Donald Trump's situation. Trump had things transported to Mar-a-Lago only from the time he was president, when he was allowed to have access to them, with Secret Service protection. The issue was over what needed to be returned.
But as I've noted in the past, Biden himself admitted there was a document going back to 1974, when he didn't even have any right to have anything from the time he was a Senator. Then after the Hur report dropped, Biden spoke about their investigation spanning "40 years."

The administration is said to have proposed a draft U.N. Security Council resolution which in part would call for a temporary cease-fire and call on Israel not to go into Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
According to Reuters, the U.S. text states in part that it "determines that under current circumstances a major ground offensive into Rafah would result in further harm to civilians and their further displacement including potentially into neighboring countries."

Joe Biden is starting to ride back his committments on forcing the transition to electric vehicles (EVs).
According to a report from The New York Times, Biden's administration is giving up on its targets for production of EVs in an apparent "concession" to automakers and labor unions.The plan is also said to be an election ploy as Democrats fear losing the support of automakers and labor unions:

It’s going to be difficult to get tens of millions of illegals out of the country. If there were some fear of that happening, the Democratic Party would rise up and steal as much of the American taxpayers’ money as necessary to protect this future constituency of theirs. Corporations that want cheap labor would press politicians with threats of reduced campaign money, and everybody knows politicians love other people’s money more than they love anything else. The illegals themselves would disappear under rocks, into holes in the ground, and into every cavity and crevice they could find to escape deportation.
