Joe Biden’s ‘shrinkflation’ blame game

By the time the Super Bowl started, it had been extensively reported that President Joe Biden had refused, for the second year in a row, to do the traditional Super Bowl interview. The conventional wisdom was that the 81-year-old president, who has granted relatively few interviews during his time in the White House and has been under intense scrutiny in the last few days for age-related cognitive problems, just could not risk a high-profile interview in his current condition. “It’s the biggest television audience — not even close — and you get a chance to do a 20, 25-minute interview on that day, and you don’t do it?”

Biden not doing a 20 minute interview at the Super bowl is actually a smart move for his team. 20 minutes with Joe would be a Gaffe-athon.

I'm stunned to find that many adults don't understand the relationship between the money supply and 'shrinkflation'. If college grads don't know what sizes it, surely Brandon has no clue. I'm sick of being preached and lied to.

When we were first married in 1971, we would do a weeks shopping at the grocery store. We had four bags and the cost as about $20. Today we do a weeks shopping, still four bags, and the cost is $200. Prices are through the roof for items sold by the pound or by the dozen. Tell me again about Shrinkflation.

He’s as responsible for “shrinkflation” as he is for inflation. You either raise the price or give less for the same price. It’s not hard to figure out, common sense, whioh Dementia Joe has not been within 1000 miles of, ever!

Gramps didn't do the interview because he's that far gone mentally. He could only do a political video under his control (with many cuts) rather than an embarrassing interview of 20 plus minutes. How our adversaries must laugh at us. An ad about snacks which is what everybody was eating during the Super Bowl!

Bags of chips, Cans of soda, miniature candy bars, are all smaller because they have been pushing in that direction for years. I am pretty sure it is not the lousy economy. Rather it is the result of the food police encouraging eating less. Frankly I like the small bags of chips. 0.5oz is fine. I don't care for the small cans of soda but most of my lady friends do. If I open an 8 oz bag of chips then in my effort to just snack on a few usually results in me eating 2/3 of it.

the bidenistas are playing the commie word creation game by inventing new and catchy words and phrases to make it look like there is no financial earthquake about to happen in the USofA but - the working and consuming members of the society know more about financial matters than the scholars because - they create the economy that they live with and make work or not make work because - in our economic structure the "little people" make the economy ... not the scholars

The Bidiot, who has no familiarity with the private sector, is mainly responsible for the roaring inflation, the greatest in forty years. He's been on the dole since 1973, collecting foreign bribes and his federal paycheck, and he doesn't understand economics. FTA: "And as an ice cream lover, what makes me the most angry is that ice cream cartons have actually shrunk in size but not in price.” The Resident is angry, very angry like Marvin the Martian, who said, "This makes me very angry, very angry indeed."

There’s an odd dynamic that plays out when former President Donald Trump gives a campaign speech. Many news organizations have imposed a virtual blackout on his appearances. As a rule, they don’t broadcast Trump’s speeches live and often never report on them at all, even if a particular speech is newsworthy. When Trump won the Iowa caucuses, for example, Fox News carried his victory speech live, while CNN cut away from the speech when Trump discussed immigration, labeling his remarks “anti-immigrant rhetoric” unfit for CNN viewers. MSNBC did not broadcast the speech at all.

A few weeks ago, a “Morning Joe” panel concluded that if Donald Trump were to become the Republican nominee (spoiler alert: he will), Republicans will lose in the fall. This is by no means a unique sentiment – former House Speaker Paul Ryan expressing this idea here, journalist Bernard Goldberg wondering if Trump is trying to lose here, and so forth. As I read these analyses, I wonder if I’ve somehow been transported back to 2016, when such takes were de rigueur. Here in 2024, we know that Donald Trump won in 2016 and came close to winning in 2020. He carried Republican senators across the finish line in both years

It is hard to destroy a naturally beautiful city like San Francisco, with ideal weather and stunning infrastructure inherited from far better earlier generations. Yet San Francisco continues its much-publicized and self-inflicted doom loop. The productive classes still flee the increasingly crime-ridden city and its self-induced pathologies. The city is eroding not because of the doomsayers and not because of what people say about San Francisco, but because of what San Franciscans have done to San Francisco. In 2023, more than 40,000 crimes were reportedly committed in San Francisco. The great majority of the perpetrators were either not arrested or never jailed, indicted, or convicted.

Conservative Republicans have managed to defeat the fake border security bill wrapped in a political ploy inside of a Ukraine bailout bill. Of course, no Republican should have ever imagined that giving open-border Democrats everything they asked for was a smart strategic position, but that’s what they very nearly did. Republicans had already passed a real border security bill within a few months of taking control of the House of Representatives following the 2022 midterm elections. HR-2 actually secured the border – by demanding that the Biden administration finish the border wall, ending Biden’s power to process aliens

According to the report released last week by Special Counsel Robert Hur, Joe Biden has a long history of mishandling classified material. Witnesses told Hur during the course of his year-long investigation that as vice president, Biden routinely took classified files and did not return them as required. “Mr. Biden was known to remove and keep classified material from his briefing books for future use, and his staff struggled--and sometimes failed--to retrieve these materials,” Hur disclosed in the special counsel’s damning 388-page report.

While Woody Allen once said that "80 percent of success is showing up," former President Donald Trump proved this week that the same could be said about "just sticking around." Trump had one of the best weeks as cases and critics seemed to implode, from the disqualification effort in Washington to the scandal in Georgia. Yet, Trump is not out of the woods and is facing significant threats in what is becoming a war of attrition. In Washington, the Supreme Court gave a chilly reception to the disqualification effort that bordered on the glacial.

The thunderous, blind rage with which Democrats and their media stooges are greeting the special counsel report on Joe Biden is a thing to behold. With apologies to Jack Nicholson and “A Few Good Men,” they can’t handle the truth. It’s as if Dems and their handmaidens really believed Biden was fit for duty, that the stumbling, mumbling, confusion and hiding were normal. A more reasonable view is that their fury stems from the fact that they, too, were part of

New York City could soon ban Tide PODS and other laundry-detergent packs under the latest “green” push from lawmakers. The “Pods are Plastic Bill,” introduced by City Councilman James Gennaro last week, would make it illegal to sell any pods and laundry sheets if they’re made with polyvinyl alcohol. Fines for selling the pods would start at $400, double for a second violation and top off at $1,200 for flouting the rules more than twice, if the bill becomes law. The bill would also require education and outreach to businesses on the ban for the first year. The law wouldn’t take effect until Jan. 1, 2026, if passed.
