Former President Donald Trump's legal team looks set to claim US intelligence agencies were out to get him, according to a new legal filing ahead of his classified documents case.
Trump has been charged by Special Counsel Jack Smith on crimes related to his attempt to overturn the 2020 election and for hoarding classified documents he moved from the White House to Mar-a-Lago.
Lawyers for Trump said in a motion filed Tuesday that they will dispute prosecutors' allegations that the estate where the records were stored was not secure, in a case Trump has demanded be pushed to after the election.

An important part of the burden on the President to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution is to ensure that elections are proper and legal. He has an obligation to inspect if he suspects irregularities. Whether he is a candidate or not. If that is his judgement as the Chief Executive then that is what it is. It cannot be challenged in a court of law. I fail to see how the learned justices (including one who cannot define what a woman is) will fail to see this.

Someone explain why Trump is being charged with felonies for having classified documents in locked rooms while Biden gets off for having classified documents (which he shouldn't have had) in his garage, and spread around several different offices when he was out of office? How did the National Archives know Trump had documents but were clueless about all of the documents that Biden had stolen over the years? Also, stop showing rooms full of boxes giving the impression that Trump had rooms full of boxes full of classified documents. What he had that was "classified " probably wouldn't have filled one box!

Donald John Trump aka PDJT was President and is getting railroaded for having classified documents while Joseph Robinette Biden Junior aka the Joetato was a senator and vice president is so far getting away with it. Can someone please explain this to me.

Did 21 yrs in the military, had TS/SCI clearances and it was drilled into us, that the POTUS, is the ultimate classification/declassification authority. I'll wager they were looking for something else and didn't find it.

This is the greatest abuse of power ever exercised by the "librarians" at the National Archive against any former U.S. President. Not even Bill Clinton got so much as a slap on the wrist when he coaxed Sandy Burger to waltz into the National Archives to stuff original documents relating to Clinton administration handling of the wanted international terrorist Osama Bin Laden stuffed into his underwear and socks, and later destroying them at his home.
> National Archives then: "Nothing to see here, move along now..."
Fast forward to Sen. Joe Biden and the Classified Documents ILLEGALLY taken from Secure Locations and stored at very unsecure Delaware garage, stashed in boxes in front of his old Corvette. During the time Pedo Joe was VP, he was also storing them in offices in buildings owned by Chinese businessmen, or at his office at the University of Pennsylvania.
> Response from the National Archives: "Nothing to see here, move along now..."
Obama weaponized every agency of the Federal Government before his two terms were up. We're seeing the first shots in a civil war, this one directed at the citizenry from our nation's capitol by unelected leftist-Communists placed in bureaucratic positions by unelected officials within the Executive Branch, aided and abetted by "fellow-travelers" in the Judicial system.

As senator and VP, the only way that Pedo Joe could have viewed classified documents was in a SCIF. He would have had to sign them into the facility and then return them to security personnel and sign them back out. Which means that the only way he could have possession of those documents was to have stolen them. He probably bribed someone to allow him to take them as well.
Why did he take them and what did he do with them, other than store them in unsecured spaces? Did Hunter have access to them? Who else had access to them? If this is not outright treason, it is something VERY close to it.

Trumps claim that Intelligence Agencies were out to get him is without doubt accurate---as proven by the charges.

Were any of these documents in the garage? Was there a 'club on the Corvette? And not the rest of the boxes that were next to the lawnmower and the weedeater? Was Anthony Blinken the Exec in charge of the Center at Penn? Did the CCP fund that position and own the building where it was domiciled?
Will all the backchannel communications and evidence reveal thatthis was a plot to destroy Pres DJT?
Is there compromising material on Chief Justice Roberts that is preventing the SCOTUS from doing its job? Is there an Epstein connection? Or maybe he's just waiting until enough noise will take some of the heat off him and prevent the left from 'peacefully' demonstrating. They will 'peacefully demonstrate' no matter what! Isn't that obvious? They are writing about violence in the streets if Pres Trump is re-elected.

They keep talking about Hundreds of boxes of Documents, 11,000 documents seized, 325 Top Secret Documents...stacks of boxes in a Ballroom and a bathroom. But do not mention that even of the ones shown many are marked "Melani's bedroom, Barrons bedroom, Kitchen, various parties, vacations, golf tournaments, Menues, recipes, travel schedules, thank you lists, Books, magazine/news clippings".
Actual Charges are over 31 individual pages...which are mere copies of Documents also held elsewhere in other Govt agencies, that low level underlings, clerks and aides currently(and always) have had access to.
Every other President, presidential family member, spouse, and High ranking staffer has been allowed to retain ALL of this stuff until they eventually sorted through it and published BOOKS about it and their time in office. Books they didn't actually write themselves, rather they had Ghost Writers with NO security clearances with unfettered access to all records researching, composing those books. ALL of those past office holders and family members/staffers made headlines with $multi Million dollar contracts/advances for those Books. $10's of Millions or even $Hundreds of Millions in advance monies. Trump et al received NO book deals, or at least took no Book Deals, and the partisan, highly political director of the archives insisted that THEY and they alone had 100% control over every item that had ever been IN the Whitehouse during the Trump years, including personal clothes, books, photos, Christmas cards, birthday, and Valentine notes

Holding a security clearance does not allow the holder to "possess" (e.g., have within one's care, custody, and control) documents that are marked TS and above. It allows viewing, typically within a SCIF, on a need to know basis but you can't "own" them. At lower levels of classification, such as Security Sensitive Information (SSI), the rules are much more lax regarding possession, especially if you are the originator of said document(s). For TS and above, there are obviously precedents set vis-a-vis former presidents and classified documents but the simple fact of having a security clearance appears to be a weak defense for having thousands of TS documents in your possession, especially if you were never POTUS. The Constitution is silent on this particular matter. Public law via Acts of Congress, signed by the president, and codified within the U.S. Code, does address the universe of classified documents and de-classification procedures; however, a public law's constitutionality may be challenged in court based on the separation of powers doctrine that certainly is constitutional. Trump should have or still should challenge the unwritten but operative, progressive meme that the intelligence community is a fourth branch of government. They are not and the president is constitutionally in full control of the entire Executive Branch. If any agency or agencies is/are "out to get the president," the president has a range of options for dealing with said agency, including working with Congress for its/their statutory abolishment.

I may just be "looking for trouble" if I take offense whenever some "journalist" puts quotation marks around ANY word in quoting President Trump. If woke up on the wrong side of the web this morning, don't start none and there won't be none.

I don't know. Using truth and innocence as a defense doesn't seem to be a very good tactic against this Justice Department.

Attacks against Donald Trump are all made up with twisted lawyer legalese and truth has no place in their cases. We will vote him into office no matter which crooked judge says what. Our survival as a country depends on it.

Just reading the headline, I knew it was Daily Mail. They seriously hate Trump. Seriously. Can't imagine why, tho. He never did anything to them. Guess woke liberalism is alive and well in Britain.
