Judge rules federal law banning gun possession

A federal judge has declared that a law banning Americans from possessing guns in postal offices is unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Florida ruled Friday that a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling from 2022 made the postal office gun ban illegal. As part of the decision, she dismissed part of an indictment charging postal worker Emmanuel Ayala with illegally possessing a gun in a federal building. She said the criminal charge violated Ayala’s 2nd Amendment rights. “The Supreme Court has been clear: the government must point to historical principles that would permit it to prohibit firearms possession in post offices,”

'Going postal' was never about ticked off customers. But why should any workplace need a law to keep employees from bringing guns to work?

Great news. It is very inconvenient to disarm to go into any federal building. It's a bit of an issue for the post office, but I find it the most inconvenient in Yellowstone National Park, where you can carry all thru the park, and I have for years, but have to disarm to go into any park building, like to eat or shop.

Not much danger of thieves stealing grocery store flyers and medicare supplement advertising but post office employees know how to recognize and swipe gift cards. Unfortunately, there are crazies everywhere.

I was told by a local police officer that the post office notified them that police officers were not allowed bring in their guns unless they were called there on police business. I suggested that they should inform the post office, that from now on they should call the Feds if you need law enforcement.

Re #5, yes, ANY federal building. And for those who express surprise at this. I would suggest that you do your homework on how to remain within the law with a concealed weapon a bit more diligently. Not a joke if you get arrested for having a gun in a federal building - could be a federal felony and permanent loss of the right to own firearms.

The bill passed in a 199-175 vote, according to The Hill. It next heads to the Republican-controlled Senate. The lower chamber also approved a measure requiring that athletes compete on teams in line with their sex. Twenty-two states have enacted bans on transgender surgeries for minors, according to the pro-LGBT Movement Advancement Project. Twenty-one of those have also banned lesser medical treatments.

The federal government peddled technology to Big Tech companies to assist them in censoring Americans’ speech on social media in the run-up to the 2020 election, according to emails Missouri and Louisiana uncovered in their First Amendment lawsuit against the Biden administration. Specifically, the State Department marketed this censorship technology through its Global Engagement Center. In other words, our tax dollars not only funded the development of tools to silence speech that dissented from the regime’s narrative. They also paid for government employees to act as sales reps pitching the censorship products to Big Tech.

Haley fares best against Biden as Republican

While Republican primary voters think Donald Trump is their best shot in November, it's Nikki Haley who right now holds a bigger lead over Joe Biden than either Trump or Ron DeSantis in potential head-to-head match-ups. In fact, as the GOP presidential nomination kicks off, Trump, Haley and DeSantis all have at least a slight national edge on President Biden right now, were they to emerge as his challenger. (Haley and DeSantis have tougher roads to get that chance, of course, since they trail Trump substantially in the race for the nomination.) What's behind Haley's lead? Here's why Haley has such a lead over Biden:

Video taken at the event on Saturday shows how the metal perimeter was shaken so hard that portions of it were shunted back, forcing secret service operatives to rush to one part to prevent a breach.

In January 2017, Haley went before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to be confirmed as ambassador to the United Nations (UN) in then-President Donald Trump’s administration. Sen.
