DUBAI, - Two explosions caused by 'terrorist attacks' killed more than 100 people and wounded scores at a ceremony in Iran to commemorate top commander Qassem Soleimani who was killed by a U.S. drone in 2020, Iranian officials said on Wednesday. Iranian state television reported a first and then a second blast during an anniversary event at the cemetery where Soleimani is buried in the southeastern city of Kerman. An unnamed official told the state news agency IRNA that "Two explosive devices planted along the road leading to Kerman's Martyrs' Cemetery were detonated remotely by terrorists". A reminder that Iran has many enemies throughout the Middle East. Could be a Sunni vs. Shiite attack.

Apparently, it was a Who's Who of top brass and whatnot, so this was a solid blow to Iran. Bombs planted some time ago, in anticipation of the ceremony. Reeks of a Bugsy Seagal Style hit on a mob funeral. Good show, I say.

Did the Iranian mullahs do the bombing themselves to help inflame the gullible masses against Israel and the US? I wouldn't put anything past the murdering mullahs and their terrorist buddies.

Napoleon said, "Never interefere with your enemy when he is making an error." I would paraphrase that as, "Never interfere with Muslims when they are killing each other.". Like drug gangs in the inner city, as long as they kill only other drug gang members, don't interfere. Bad people killing other bad people.....is not a bad thing.

A school shooting occurred in Iowa on Thursday morning. According to reports, the shooter injured at least three people before turning the gun on himself. We all know how Democrats love to weaponize school shootings and use them as a pretext for passing more gun control, but something tells me that this shooting will be memory-holed rather quickly. Why? Because of the shooter, who has been identified as Dylan Butler. The suspected Iowa school shooter, who injured three people including the principal before turning the gun on himself, has been identified as a school senior. Dylan Butler, who is a senior at Perry High School, was named as the suspected gunman

If you were to sum up the last decade of leftist political thought and action you could really break it into two groups. First there are the far left insurgents, the people championing Equity and DEI and anti-racism and white fragility and intersectionality and cancel culture and wokeism and all of the rest of the new think which has dribbled out of higher education/activism over the past decade. And right next to them are the liberals who have spent an increasing amount of their time over the past decade simply denying that the other group exists, or at least that it has any real significance. ISIS claims responsibility for a pair of explosions that killed at least 84 people near the grave of General Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s elite Quds Force who was killed in a US drone strike in Iraq four years ago. Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber accused Israel of having a hand in the attack, saying that “the representatives of the Zionist regime” had spilled blood with the blast. But the US already indicated yesterday that the explosions appeared to be the modus operandi of ISIS. ISIS has gone on to take responsibility for the attack in a statement posted on its affiliate Telegram channels.

WASHINGTON – Former President Donald Trump unconstitutionally profited from the presidency during his tenure in the White House, reaping millions of dollars for his business empire from foreign governments, House Democrats allege in an extensive report. Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released a 156-page report Thursday morning accusing Trump of exploiting the presidency to financially benefit himself and members of his family. Trump’s businesses, according to the report, received at least $7.8 million from corrupt and authoritarian governments including China, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The report is the culmination of a nearly seven-year investigation. It says records and documents obtained by House Oversight Democrats reveal "a stunning web

(He anointed Tom Staggs instead, and Staggs was out the following year. Being a potential successor was hazardous duty at Disney, at least in those days.) Iger’s relationship with Perlmutter went sharply downhill from there and last March, after incrementally stripping Perlmutter of his duties at Marvel, Iger ejected the contentious billionaire from the company altogether.

Former President Donald Trump appealed a ruling disqualifying him from Colorado’s 2024 election ballot to the Supreme Court Wednesday. The Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 Dec. 19 that Trump is ineligible to be on the state’s primary ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Trump asked the Supreme Court Wednesday to determine whether the court erred in excluding him. “The question of eligibility to serve as President of the United States is properly reserved for Congress, not the state courts, to consider and decide,” the petition states. “By considering the question of President Trump’s eligibility and barring him from the ballot, the Colorado Supreme Court arrogated Congress’ authority.”

A former county clerk in Kentucky, Kim Davis, must pay a total of $260,104 in legal fees and expenses to a same-sex couple whom Davis denied a marriage license because of her religious beliefs. The new sum is in addition to the $100,000 in damages a jury ruled Davis must pay to the couple who sued, David Ermold and David Moore. The Davis case gained international notoriety in 2015 when she was jailed for refusing to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple. Davis maintained that she had been faced with a “seemingly impossible choice” between following her conscience and losing her freedom.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has reached the minimum threshold — 1,000 signatures — to qualify for placement on the presidential ballot in Utah as an independent candidate, the first state where the upstart populist has qualified. Kennedy has campaigned across the U.S. with the hopes of gathering enough signatures across states to appear on state ballots as an independent candidate. As each state sets its own requirements, and the costs for collecting signatures and filing across states can be prohibitive for candidates without party backing, it is unlikely that Kennedy will qualify for candidacy in every state. Last month, American Values 2024, a super PAC supporting the third-party candidate,

WASHINGTON — The Biden administration on Tuesday asked the Supreme Court to allow federal Border Patrol agents to cut through or move razor wire Texas installed on the U.S.-Mexico border as part of a contentious effort by the state to prevent illegal border crossings. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar said in a court filing that Border Patrol agents have authority under federal law to access private land at the border and that Texas has no basis to thwart them from carrying out their duties. The Biden administration says the wire prevents agents from reaching migrants who have already crossed over the border into the U.S. The case arose when

We have become a nation of Madame Defarges — eagerly knitting names of those to be subject to arbitrary justice. Former congressional candidate Gene Stilp, who’s made headlines by burning MAGA flags with swastikas outside courthouses, filed the challenge. Using the 14th Amendment to disqualify candidates like Perry is consistent with Stilp’s signature flag-burning stunts.

We are about to embark on what might be one of the wildest years in the history of American politics, and it may end up merely a prelude. If 2024 is set to be tumultuous and unpredictable, just wait until 2025 if Donald Trump wins the presidency again this year. His adversaries don’t have a history of accepting his victories with equanimity. Trump’s unexpected victory in 2016 launched conspiracy theories about how Russia had helped him win; catalyzed a years-long law enforcement investigation into him and his campaign based on those theories; and set off protests in the streets. All that was mild, given what may yet be in the offing.
